Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Not that I am overly concerned at this point, but my EVO acts a little weird sometimes. I have gotten the same "red light" situations as others have noted. But just now, after heating up and taking some good morning hits, I went back for another and the unit was OFF. I mean, of course the power switch was on and I had used it a half hour ago, but now it's off. No red light, no light at all. Is this supposed to happen?

I just toggled the power switch and it's heating up just fine. Again, not overly concerned and if toggling the switch fixes everything, then of course it's no big deal. I only bring it up due to the past posts and the fact I broke my Persei the first night I had it. Hoping I don't have some bad luck or something ;)

In other news, look what I just got:

I've had this happen a couple times and I just attributed it to the same sensor quirk SM described above. A reset was all that's needed. Hopefully that's all you're seeing, too.

So I just combusted a layer of bubble hash granules in my EVO @ max temp.
I guess unlike herb combustion, it doesn't even smell like smoke :hmm:

What happened was,
when the backpressure of my stemless perc forced air through the ELB, I suddenly heard an very audible *POP*/explosion and saw a hefty plume out the bottom of the bamboo. Really doesn't seem to be any repercussions from the event.

I checked and the bamboo is still airtight. No visible cracks or anything down the bamboo. And no combustion smell!
But still a very loud sound.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

I had some soft wax that combusted once and it crackled and popped. It really concerned me too but it only cause some stink in the ELB.

The whistling was most definitely from me inhaling too fast. But when I clear the tube, the whistle is obviously there. Not the most pleasant sound though. Kinda weird.
I really don't know what I was thinking, it's like I forgot how to hit a Cloud properly. I forgot all about the long slow draw. I am getting huge hits now. Duh!

I just put all my ELBs threw a short, almost boiling water wash with PBW... lots of shaking, swirling, then a major rinse job.

They look almost new again... the two that I had (initially, before the quick trip back for a reset/bamboo replacement) combusted in have lost much of the black stain.

I'm looking forward to trying a fresh one this afternoon!

I've had similar experiences with my Dabuddha vaping traditional Morroccan style hashes. It was very similar to the pop you hear if you hold a burning splint to a test tube of hydrogen.
It was weird, it almost seemed like some sort of gas was building up in the whip/heat cover area.
The DBV was also fine but I found it quite interesting and would love to know what caused it. Can't imagine bubble hash giving off any gas. . .

Bubble is water based hash? Could be "boiling" water/vapor?

I'm using a cranberry concentrate in my HT water and I'm n00b with it. It looks like the cranberry conc bonds w/ any sticky and creates clumps in the water... is that normal for others? It looks bad...

I have found that cranking the EVO to max until the LED turns green, then dialing back down to the desired setting works best to hit target temp sooner.

Unless I'm speed vaping, I like to start at around 9 to hit the low burning oils, then up to noon, and finish off at about 2 for some cloudage :) I find that I get a much more dynamic flavor profile & efficient extraction using this method.

This was personally suggested by Phil & Bryan of the VXH team. I think anyone who is having difficulties with the LED's & heating issues might consider contacting the team about a firmware update :)

Thats how it keeps the resin off the glass. IMO if it's saturated enough to have clumps like that is time to change the solution anyway.

Thanks for the tip/feedback. But I get clumps like every dang day. I need a housekeeper.

Concentrate testing update - Got some shatter DutchCrunch and it's pretty nice, but took some trial and error to get it to work.
  1. Put piece of shatter on loose cotton
  2. Cover with another small piece of loose cotton
  3. Take a round metal grinder and slowly roll over the cotton crunching up the shatter
  4. place in ELB, add another piece of very loose cotton to buffer the cap
  5. Clouds!
Without the crush up, I found that the vapor gets too much hot air and doesn't vape evenly, we kinda know this already for any concentrate, but for the shatter the key is it's gotta be pre-worked from my initial testing.

This occurs with a firmware of a unit that was just sent back for re-calibration, which i'm assuming is the most current version. Regardless, the issue was already explained, and is normal and for all our best interests from what I understand. It's important that this thread doesn't derail into it being abnormal or a problem that needs attention.

You know, I think you might be talking to a bot.

Every 3 or 4 pages, we get a posting from someone (always a different user name) with almost identical wording, and a less than 10 post count. I've seen three variations (with a repeat of an initial post by a different user) so far, I think.

I don't know, if you have to turn your car on and off and then on again before it starts, that would be a defect. Hopefully they can resolve the sensor issue. I just turn it on and walk away, so I wouldn't know it wasn't heating until I came back and thought it was ready. Luckily I haven't had that problem. *Knocks on wood*

is there any vapor left after that much diffusion?

Ok So im curious if the SS ELBS are made of high quality SS.?

There was a thread on fc that got me kinda interested in seeing what kind of SS the elbs are, and if they are cleaned/washed after welding ect.?
