@ataxian I forgot to check my water temp yesterday for you, candy thermometer is reading it at 130f at max and I don't usually introduce hot water to "cold glass" right away. So around there, probably 100-130 range is my preferred water temp.
I have had 3 sessions already in about 2 hours I try it about 110f.

My water is normally about 75F in general.

Correction:

Sorry I have done 4 sessions today so far!

Anyone use the PNWT with the Solo? How is it? I like the design with the solo for a portable with water filtration that can be one handed. :brow:

Guilty. I have both it and the F-Bomb and prefer it over the F-Bomb although there are some guys that 'swing the other way' on that fine point.

I also use 'the Infamous Bubbler', but that gets into more hands, table tops, tubing and a bunch of other stuff. IMO there's not enough difference between the two similar bubblers to merit getting the other one.

I don't use them all that often, since I think the Solo 'barefoot' is great, but when the mood strikes.......

I have an excuse!
What is your excuse?

Careful here, Poonman, next he's gonna show you his and then get into that old 'mine's bigger than yours' thing. While we can all use a few more excuses no doubt, this could be a trap.......

Scroll to the bottom of the page
18mm fitting for the contection plus the smaller mouth piece for people who prefere.
The F-Bomb and the PNWT have too large of mouth pieces for my liking.
However for many it is not an issue!

It has an opening for a small grinder (The one I have is too big for the opening) but it has other slots for glass and screens. I got all of this from Vaporseller.com and the price was right :) Charging my new best friend up now

Wanted to post that I found acceptable caps :)! In case anyone is interested here is what works on my straight and curved OEM stems. For stem/inhaling end for 94 cents at hardware shops I got grey screw protectors for 1/2 inch screws. Its a 3 pack. For bowl end head to a craft store and pick up Mod Podge hot glue finger caps (mine are pink) for around $4 if you don't have a coupon. Also a three pack. Will take action pics later :)

I'm think my new m1e1 Solo is a bit defective.
During some sessions the heat will lower to idle (non of the numbers lit up) and after attempting to adjust the heat it will shoot up to 7 and try to make its way back down.
It's pretty annoying but maybe not annoying enough to send it in.
This makes the heat up inconsistent.
This isn't normal, correct?

Does this happen all the time when you use your Solo? I see you said some sessions, like 50% of the time? My older model does that some times, I just turn it back on. Like 1 out of 5 times. I figured it was getting tired. It didn't do that in the beginning though.

Ive only used my solo probably 6 days yet so I can't say for sure.
It usually occurs after the first 1 or 2 12minute shut down sessions.
But i guess it's safe to say about 50%.

Next time i notice I'll try to shoot a video of it

It's not normal for your Solo to turn off like that.

I read this in one of the Forums from Solo troubleshooting:
Try manually to reset your Solo,
Plug the charger into the wall outlet and plug the Solo in,
Press and hold both top buttons for approx 4 seconds
Wait for 10 seconds then unplug from the charger.

I hope this helps, I'm going to try it on my old Solo if I keep having the problem of it turning off randomly.
I have had my older model Solo turn off after it gets hot, but that's after I've given it a big workout. it will turn back on after 5 or 10 min after it cools down.

Yes!!! After it gets hot...... Perhaps this is an important clue, I'd never thought much about it.

There's a thermal switch in the battery pack.....perhaps that's what's shutting the Solos down? I've never had it happen, but I can see how a defective battery might heat too much in normal use, or an out of spec switch 'trip' too soon. Like most guys (I think) I tend to think of the battery in terms of state of charge (voltage) not temperature.

Tripping that switch should make it go dark and stay inert until it cools off enough (IIRC they trip at 60C and reset again at 50C).

Food for thought, thanks much for it.

has anyone ever posted any pictures of the actual ceramic heating disk in the solo? I got a broken solo for the battery pack, it died when it was really new, so the battery is an improvement over my really burnt out old pack. anyways i can take some pictures of the inside of the heater and what not, if no one has ever done this before.

Thanks @GenYHippie . It's really good quality too. It's very solid and the foam padding is very stiff and sturdy so I had to work the items in. This means it will last a good while and not fall apart from me taking things in and out of it. Now I just need PV to restock their GonGs etc. then I will be all set. :D

Its awesome I am going to keep that in mind should I need something extra discrete.

ETA: Here is the pic of the "caps" on my straight stem. The pink is the mod podge, the grey are the screw caps.

Hey everyone,

Just got my brand new Arizer solo M1E1, used it for the first few days and have loved it. Unfortunately I seem to have ran into a problem with charging and was hoping there might be someone with the same issue that might be able to help.

Basically when I plug the solo in to charge I get a double beep then the idle light will blink after which the 7 light will blink plus another double beep, this will just continue as long as the solo is plugged in, idle light - 7 light + double beep, idle light - 7 + double beep, and so on. I have been searching all day with no luck and not really find anyone with a similar problem, might have just not looked hard enough. I have also contacted Arizer and am still waiting on a response.

If anyone knows what the problem is and if there is a simple fix that would be awesome! :D

No, AFAIK nobody has and I look for stuff like that.

FWIW I don't think there's any "actual ceramic heating disk in the solo" to take a photo of. My opinion is the heater assembly is cemented together with furnace cement and isn't about to come apart without some serious 'Longshoreman Logic'. I think the cup, heater wire coil with leads welded on it, thermistor (temperature sensor) and the lower part of the plastic body are all cemented together in a fixture of some sort.

Normally I'd suggest extreme caution since the leads are very easy to break off the PCB underneath (no need to ask how I come by this tidbit of information.....). You could just as easily snap one off at the cement line, with no chance of recovery like when you break them at the PCB end.

When you get inside, I think you too will find that there's no more hardware to disassemble. The assembly is not meant to be further serviced I think. That is the latches hold the pieces together until the mounting screws are installed and a heater, lead, sensor or other failure requires replacement of the entire assembly.

Good luck with it, by all means please take photos. TIA.

You may have a charger problem. This happened to me. I have two Solos, the new one being the M1D2, so I used my old Solo's charger. Works great. You may want to call whomever you bought it from, see if they can send a charger. If it works, great, or exchange your unit? Someone stated in an earlier post you may be able to purchase a charger @ Radio Shack???

I know it was a few pages back but if you are breaking pvhe stems its because you are possibly stressing the screen notch or air paths which are not as solid as the rest of the thick stem that PV uses. I always take a few extra pairs of chop sticks from the thai place since they have the round ones and when I get home I stick one end in the pencil sharpener. With a sharp bamboo stick I can clear my stem easily and never have to worry about shocking or jarring the glass. I used to have an old broken ash catcher which I would hold the stem up to and blow into so the abv was caught at the bottom and the air escaped the top...worked great until my woman thought it was dirty and broken and tossed it out.

Heated up one of my stems with a small torch. All the oil ran down to the mouth piece. Now I am dabbing that in a Sublimator Apollo. Holy CBDs!

Cool. Just be careful torching the glass tube. You need to heat it evenly all around so one side doesn't expand more than the other and introduce a stress crack (which will sooner or later kill the stem). But slow and even heating is also a good plan for reclaiming this way I think?
