I'd like to stop vaping for 3 months, does anyone have advice? :) Thanks!

Im sure they are out there lol, kind of a shame that he/she could lose their job over it; but could have drank the night before work.

Also sure you know this but just in case, keep everything on the DL when in med school. I was reading a story about a student who had red eyes, another student notified the hospital that they thought he had been smoking. Well he immediately was forced to take a drug test. Luckily he wasnt a smoker and just had red eyes due to studying late. I believe he turned it around on them since he was black and felt they werent being fair. Could have turned out badly even if he was being responsible and had not vaped before going to the hospital, if he vaped occasionally on the weekends or whatever.

Yeah good advice, thank you! I definitely would keep it on the downlow and would only vape on weekends and when not at work or on call. Plus, besides the legality issue, occasional vaping will help me immensely as a doctor, as it is by far the best working treatment for my depression.

Additionally, I decided to try and start my break early, yesterday being the first day. With 36 hours without vaping, I'm feeling ok, but I can tell the urge to do it to feel better is going to start soon! I think I got this tho, its been helpful reading stories of other people who took breaks on this forum, gives me some motivation.

your only problem will be sleeping most likely so prepare for that melatonin and herbal sleeping pills or if you can get try lunesta there are no withdraws only cravings .

However you still will need something to help you sleep if you used it for that.

All good advice so far. For me by far the biggest problem was serious insomnia. I mean like not sleeping at all for days. I'm presently 2 weeks into my t-break (@lazylathe has corrupted me and introducing me to an EVO and Herbalizer at the same time for my return - I know, what a bastard lol) and i'm finally getting about 4-5 hours/night. I used Sublinox for the first 3 nights which helped alot. Melatonin and herbal supplements never has helped me before.

I also disagree that it is psychological only IMO. I just stopped the worst night sweats of my life a couple of days ago. Initially I also had cold chills and an abnormal body temperature regulation. One thing that has been helping both my body and mind (and sleep) has been hot yoga, so I highly suggest at least using a hot sauna. There are definitely brain changes that occur (not permanent) and what I personally think is that the pineal gland stops producing as much natural melatonin, and it takes a little while to get it running up full steam again.

Although I love vaping weed, it definitely commands respect in my opinion. Best of luck, you are going down a very good path!

Yeah, I've slept very minimally the past 4 days, I have been sleep aids and they have helped somewhat. The yoga suggestion is interesting, thanks! I've tried meditation actually at the suggestion of a friend at it was helpful as well, it kinda gave me some time to think about my life goals and how to improve myself (things I usually do while vaping) without using any herb.

Camomile tea before bed is very relaxing, natural and non addictive.

For insomnia, create a structured & strict sleep/wake plan, if you cant get to sleep at set times then always make sure you wake at the same time in the morning even if you only got off to sleep 30 mins before, eventually your body will conform to the required early nights under this regime.

Have you been studying? Studying late usually helps me get sleepy (I study around 7-8 until 2ish)

Yeah, I've been studying a ton at night, but the problem is I am accustomed to hitting the vape when I am done studying, as a reward for a day of hard work. I like fall asleep if I study too long, but as soon as I put down the textbook suddenly I can't sleep anymore. I feel like at this point its all about sheer willpower. Whenever I think about vaping I just tell myself that if I do it, ill have to go through these 4+ days of insomnia all over again when I finally decide to stick with it. Thats decent motivation for me.

have a more tips for you try parrots beak its hard to find you can make tea from it or even smoke it
well vape it /we had oil made from it was very nice .

this herb is very special you feel a buzz or high for 30 mins or so than your head clears up your mind opens read your text book at this time and you remember line by line watch a movie and you remember every word each actor said.truly the weirdest high.

also bee pollen(fresh raw) in the morning 1tbs in your coffee tea juice will do wonders.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your lucky and only get 4+ days of insomnia and it ends there mine never ends never
So my best tip if someone offers you a job working graveyard shifts refuse it once you start working the night shift your body clock is messed up for the rest of your life.just one night years later you stay up till 6 am your stuck like that for weeks.

Isn't the entire point of meditation to not think? I suppose there are many different froms of meditation though.

Very good information. Although personally tea in the evening makes the night sweats even worse.

This may seem simple but have you thought about taking your book to bed an hour before bedtime and finishing your studying in bed, so when you do fall asleep, you can just lay the book down and continue sleeping?
I fall asleep at my monitor often but by the time I walk downstairs, brush teeth, and get into bed, I'm wide awake again.
I'm on a break myself, my consumption was quite high. I've just passed two months, and other than sweating at night(I thought it was all the lush blankets we have on the bed), I have suffered no "withdrawal" at all. I do miss it, but do not crave it. I plan to go back, but am not driven by it at all, and I was sure I would be.
I think the idea of stopping was bigger in my mind than actually stopping was.

I bet you will endure just fine.
Best of luck on your exam! With luck, you'll be able to go into Cannabis research and enlist your fellow FC brethren to be your guinea pigs!

"There will be drug tests at work today!"
"Cool, what drugs are we testing?"

I had the above same feelings as @Adobewan after only 2 weeks....I was good! I wanted to go longer but just couldn't pass up the opportunity to be able to try an EVO and Herbie on the same day! Now that's passed, and my use is way down, and i've been very much enjoying it. However, after a few days now of nightly use, it's time for another mini break! It's all about the power of the mind, and controlling your life - and not let it control you!
