Butane-powered Heat Gun(s)?

Please forgive me if this has been discussed, as I did a search and could not find relevant info. I stumbled across this device recently, and thought it might make a good alternative to a lighter considering how cheap and portable it is. I realize the mj-600 has no temperature adjustment but I thought I could hold it back as far as necessary to avoid combustion.

Iroda MJ-600 MICRO-THERM Cordless Butane Heat Gun

or

Iroda MJ-950 ULTRA-THERM Cordless Butane Heat Gun

Both of which can be found at: www.heatgunstore.com

I planned to use it with my waterpipe, and because of it's small nozzle size I wouldn't have to buy any extra bowls to accommodate a standard heat gun. I did not expect his to work seamlessly, nor did I expect it to produce fantastic vapors if it did work. However, for around $20 for the mj-600 I believe I'm willing to give it a try. Who knows, it could allow me to vape with the waterpipes and accompanying bowls/stems that I own and thoroughly enjoy.

Please share your thoughts and/or recommendations

I think this is a great idea! Let us know how it works out. I just watched the video of the Iroda MJ-950 and it looks pretty cool. I'm just wondering if you can set it at the temp levels we are desiring, and most importantly, if it is safe to use health wise.

edit// Nevermind. Good work vapedcrusader, haha.

SpiralArchitect,
hi i tried using a similar product with my vriptech vapor bat and it tasted like shit really bad butane taste plus those tings burn so hot you gotta hold it like 4 feet away to ensure no combustion

I talked about trying this somewhere on the forum and the results were not great. It can work I guess but it can also turn it to ash faster then a lighter, it happend to me and like vapedcrusader said, it tasted horrible.

Well I was afraid of that. I knew it would require some finesse to work, but it sounds like too much effort. Besides, Ive trashed this idea with plans to save up for a Purple days. I'm not sure what I was thinking, trying to achieve the desired results for $20 (desperate times.....)

Thank you everyone for your advice, and for putting the boots to that idea. It's just that I've been burning it for so long that anything is a welcome alternative at this point.

Anyway it's time to start saving the pennies for a PD! Hopefully I can get an order in soon before they get too backed up. Anyone know if they will have any wood types, other than cherry?

Good choice, but now you're off topic. Since you'll have to wait a bit to place an order, you've got time to read the PD thread and find out about alternative wood choices that are being considered and tested. And although you can take a shortcut and email Tom and Pam about new woods being considered, I still recommend reading the PD thread. Don't let the thread length discourage you. It's pretty easy to spot the informational posts.
