I would never tap my glass stems for fear of breaking them. Although I use a custom stem from Ed's TNT product line, I still have the need to clean the bowl between sessions.
The way I do it is I empty out the bulk of the AVB using a wooden toothpick to break it up. But the toothpick doesn't get everything, so I like to follow-up with a small wire brush as seen below:
Although made for a Dremel rotary tool, I just use it by hand to sweep the screen and the sides of the bowl of any stuck debris.

Has anyone here reported an Arizer Solo with a glass stem that doesn't fit into the unit? My friend ordered one online and we're concerned that it might be a fake
Even after heating up the Solo , the stem still won't fit ?
Have your friend tried that ? It's been known Not to fit in smoothly when brand new . You have to heat it a bit .

Actually, I think it's exactly the opposite? Fun as that is......
Mind you, I don't have a new unit to check out, but I think others have given us all the clues we need to understand what's going on.
Basically there is no more PA. Not as we know it. You can use your existing PA, it will now charge the battery (which it wouldn't do before) but will not run the unit on 'shore power'. The unit can only run on battery power now. The difference is you can now attach the charger (or PA, most of which capacity will not be tapped) to supply about half the total power, the remainder coming from the battery.
Ironically, it'll charge again for about 20 seconds in the part of the cycle where the heat LED isn't flashing only to have to give that charge back a few seconds later........the battery will do little if any charging in this mode (basically you remove it at the same rate as you added it, creating heat in the battery that doesn't happen now in the process). Your session will end with the battery basically in the same condition as before (like with PA mode) but the 'extra miles' will have been run off it's lifespan.
Like I said, I could well be off, but that's what it sounds like is going on to me........
One other quick thought for you stem tappers, why not borrow a trick from pipe smokers and use a cork surface to tap it on? Back when I was a user, we'd use the top of champers corks or cut a round piece of bulletin board cork to put in the bottom of the ash tray?

When I was in central america we only had sativa and anxiety would set in. INDICA dominate strains (NORTHERN CALIFORNIA) I vape on level 3 before bed.
Sativa as high as 5 however I don't like a sativa before bed.

I called to cancel, and the nice lady continued to push that I tell her the "other device" I was thinking of purchasing from them, that is why I needed the money back. I have the M1E1 and I have the PA, the electrical adapter where with the older Model Solo the M1A4 that I have would operate the Solo while using but would not charge up the M1A4. I tried the PA with my M1E1 and it allowed me to use and charge at the same time. I know someone commented on that, I'm chiming in too.

Have to say the small glass stirrer that came with my V tower seems made for the Solo. I scrape out the stem when hot and the top flat spot will seat a screen into a stem perfectully or do a light pack down as well. Just sayin.

oh and i use those 7th floor SS picks to empty the stem. and when its all out i give the stem a nice short blast of air.

I'm really hoping I didn't screw something up. I just finished a good session and I wasn't thinking and plugged the charger in to the solo while it was on. Now when I try to plug the unit in, the first 3 lights start to blink and the solo just starts howling it's annoying beep constantly. I saw that there was some sort of reset which I tried with no luck.

Hey guys so I just got my solo today! Really excitedbut I have a question and a concern. I have the m1e1 I wanted to know if it can be used while charging. also I bought it from puffitup and I put it in to charge right away. Immediately I have gotten a flashing green light under the charge label but the heat level lights are only on 5. Does that mean it's charging or is it charged or is it an issue?

It was the charger. We have a local reseller who I called up and he had chargers on hand. I paid for a new one and now she's all good.
