The Lotus Vaporizer

I am really excited to get mine... should be soon:)

Etiquette Question: When vaping with friends and the Lotus, do you all pass with each hit? Or do you let each person finish their own bowl?

You got some interesting responses.

My buds usually just take a hit and pass it. Greens are always rotating, so the peeps will eventually get good flavor... But yeah, you could totally kill a bowl in one hit, so it's up to y'all if you want to guarantee greens all the time or not.

Just took my Lotus for a short drive (2 hits). See the red dot forming and I start to draw. I let the big red sun set as my draw continues a few seconds more. Throat & lungs say stop pulling. It felt like smoke going in and looked like it on exhale. I could chew the flavor. Extraction is optimus prime. Lotus is quite the driver.

Broke down and ordered a Lotus! Replacement for my DaBuddha and a compliment to my launch box! Bummed it never went on Massdrop and Easyvape sold out. :/ But i didn't wanna put off the purchase forever. Got the turquoise cap long stem with the sleek lighter, a water pipe adapter, and a vector volt lighter. Hoping i made the right choice getting the Vector volt single flame mini torch over the Vector Ammo double flame or a Lotus/Honest brand knockoff. Also hoping the long stem was the way to go (rather than use my j hook or a buy the short stem). I figure if i'm using the stem discretion is already out the window. $180 total. Lets hope this thing is as kick ass as it sounds! :)

You know I have the lotus the solo and the PNP and I keep coming back to the lotus. I went out and got a different j hook today just because it seems like it would be easier to carry around. It's a color changer too :)

This J-Hook looks great, as does the other one you used in your video.if you don't mind me asking, where abouts did you get these from?

Cheers

That is, unless they are a total rookie with it.

Hey Zenman ,
I had a good time sharing thoughts/hits with you at the Sub party last night . And thank you for the Lotus test drive .
Even tho , you had the steering wheel and operated the pedals .
All I did was ...Cruise .

I'd purposely stayed away from butane assisted vapes .
I've enjoyed my friend's Iolite , but only for short periods at a
time . Plus I like temp controlled type vapes .

But it's like that old saying ,
Don't knock it , til' you've tried it .
I really liked the flavor profile and instantaneous hit .
I think it took a matter of 10 seconds for me to achieve a nice thick cloud . But that's with the Zenman at the controls .

There are def. times , where I can use a quick extraction hit .
And scoot out the door . The Solo takes too long for that .
I like the new glass J-hook kit , for better visual maintenance
and 14mm adaptability .

Wow , so many recognizable members here ...

I just want to comment again how happy I am with the lotus. I'm an ex-bong-smoker, and the lotus provides me with a very similar ritual that I have grown so used to. I'm really digging my vaporizing setup now:

-The pinnacle pro for when I'm out and about and need stealth.
-The volcano for when friends are over.
-The lotus with the water piece attachment for personal home use.

Here's to finally having the tools to kick combustion for good!

I ordered the J-hook kit from Mendocino Theraputics and so far it's pretty awesome. It's my first vape and i expected a learning curve, but the lotus has been very easy to use from the get-go. The thing is super efficient too - I know people say that about vapes in general though. And I love how it's so simple.

For a first time buyer this thing is great. I don't have experience to be able to compare it to other ones though.

Open one yourself .
That's been my ' Sam Malone ' dream .

It's funny , they let you smoke MJ in the lounges here .
But if you light up tobacco . you have to leave or get fined .

What about spliffs?

One day I hope to own a Hookah lounge (please don't hate me), vapor lounge, and/or smoke lounge... All with arcade games and billiards.

Well I got my Lotus last night, and I have been getting accustomed to it... or trying:)
Here are my initial findings:

First 2-3 bowls took a hit or two to get the plate hot, but as the Lotus has broken in over the last 15-20 bowls, the top plate glows in about 2 seconds. After the first few bowls, I got some great big rips and started to get confident...

The next 15 or so bowls, I have been riding the hard waves of a learning curve. I am getting big rips, but I am over-toasting many of the bowls too quickly. Twice lead to nearly black AVB (combustion?) and a poor taste. In spite of constantly circling the flame and keeping some distance, the AVB is being pretty unevenly vaped.

I do feel I am starting to get the hang of it though, and for evenly vapid buds I must stir every hit or two. It is a balancing act between seeking a large rip, and trying not to burn. The problem is that I can't really tell until it is too late and I taste it.

The Good: This provides big, great tasting rips. AND does it all without any batteries! This really is everything I am looking for in an off the grid solution, and I know it is only going to get better and better as I get more familiar with the piece and how to get the most out of it.

It will never replace my Plenty or a Volcano, but I can see myself using it more at home after I get a WPA.
Where it does completely outshine the Plenty/Volcano is in efficiency. Those units require a good deal of buds to even operate properly, but the Lotus hits like a heavyweight with just a pinch! I measured a freshly ground scoop and it did not even weigh in at 0.1:)

I have learned after the first 10-15 bowls, that my grinds were far finer than the screen. The finer ground material (consistency of sand) might have also contributed to the over-roasting mentioned earlier. I am now doing a light grind and liking the results in spite of slightly smaller hits.

Thanks for yalls guidance in helping me get here,

Keep up FC!

Just wanted to share that I updated my signature to express how I feel about the Lotus. I love it more everyday. :)

The Lotus is in good company but beats them all.

Man, how can I get one of those? I have a stock one and it is great, but that is a thing of beauty.

Contact Andy from Colie. Only 90 dollars. So nice. That guy is a bro, send him some orders!
