So best place to get a j hook? Do you need the WPA for a J hook or can I get one which the heat exchange will fit onto directly? I have a WPA but just wondering
Do you have any spoons or sherlocks from your combustion days. Just slap some silicone on the wpa. 5-6" is a good length for pipe. Push it down to create a suction over the hole, plug the carb (or not if your talented), enjoy!

Nope don't have any glass, smoked spliffs more than bongs. Is it best to just buy the j hook direct from lotus vapes or is some other model preferable?

I like to think I am responsible for the little spoons being so popular because I found them to use with the sublimator, but that's another topic :p (hope you get the humor, not really this egotistical), they also work quite well with the Lotus and my other vapes and Jyarz. I find the "pinch" spoon to be the best portion for my needs. Two pinchs loads the Lotus about 1/2 way full with a light tamping.

That's basically what I was poking fun at... so many folks come up with great stuff here. I'm just happy people find it useful, and have a bit of a warped sense of humor... :whoa:

@WannaVape~ Would you please post up a pic of the underside of your cap? How do you intend on cleaning it?

I am sure it has been covered in the past 2500 posts, but I am doubtful I will get through them all before my piece arrives. What are the top tips for using the Lotus?

In regards to loading, does it prefer a tighter pack or loose? With the amounts that people are saying they are using at a time, I am surprised it even covers the screen.

People have spoken a lot of the efficiency of this piece, and how medicated they are getting off of just a little material. On the other side, how well does the Lotus handle a fully packed bowl?

If there is any way at all I will always use an inhalation method to "pack" a bowl. The WPA on a reducer just lets me accomplish this. The trick is not too heavy a load or trying to push too quickly on extraction. Very organic.

Hi all, I have been lurking here for many years since I was experimenting with a vapor genie in 2007, but the lotus has me excited. I bought a MFLB last week as an incentive to break my bong habit as my tolerance is ridiculous, and I really feel the need to be smoke free since I quit tobacco a few years ago. The lb is a great vape, but with my tolerance it cant quite shine, my 7 batteries are becoming a chore to keep charged and I still end up hitting the bong to get medicated quick.

Yesterday I stumbled in on this thread after seeing a post I missed on the MFLB thread, I think the lotus is what I need. I ordered the kit with the water pipe adapter so I can still vape even when I want to hit glass. Also I use very similar torches so the ritual will help my conversion.

I'll post again once I get the package and begin my smoke-free life, in the meantime thanks for a great informative forum!

Also one question I didn't see addressed in the first 50pgs. of the thread (yeah I didn't read the whole thing go ahead and judge me :) ) Anyhow... I ordered the Lotus from ezvape.com so I could only get the WPA with it, I was going to place an order from mendo for extra screens and a couple herb scoops (great idea for lowering tolerance) is it worth it to get an extra 'hot plate kit,' or is the plate pretty durable? I know I'll be using this a lot so I want to prepare for any necessary maintenance.

Cheers!

I think shipping from MT is like $6...? I don't think the pick up justifies the cost of shipping. Personally, I like having the insurance of a back up heat plate in case something crazy happens. You also have a warranty on the plate for a year, forget the exact deets though.

If you send a stamped self addressed envelope to MT, they'll send you a couple free screens. A cheaper option would to do that and pick up some cheap measuring spoons, as we have been talking about.

IIRC, a member here let a friend use it, and they went nuts on the heat plate and it cracked. So uh, don't let the heat plate get scorched for too long.

The plate is durable, and the shipping is fast. You could order an extra plate just to be careful, yes, but you shouldn't be anticipating a replacement this soon.

It's like how you don't keep extra downstems around for a bong - you just assume it'll be safe, and if it breaks, you go pick up a new one.

I keep an extra downstem for my bong, you don't? Omg what if it broke! Lol, all jokes aside I have two downstems and zero bongs, but I do have a D020 that one downstem fits, my other bubblers are shorter stemless pieces. Damn, now I need to get a bong to go with my extra downstems, damn GAS!:science:

Sounds good I didn't know they were still doing the free screen deal, I may take them up on that. The spoons are great too, I saw people referring to spoons, but didn't put 2+2 together. I am pretty confident I won't blast the plate, though I do like the idea of using a double torch eventually as I've seen mentioned haha, I am pretty careful, but I know I'll be using it to the fullest extent.

That being said, I'm also a bit of a preparedness nut, both my full-size bong tubes are tanks and use the same length downstem and I still keep two spares on hand. I am a DIY kinda guy (why the MFLB and lotus attracted me) so I always try to have parts on hand for the things I cant just fix on my own, if I like the vape I'll probably grab a couple spares so I never have an excuse to start blasting bong bowls again.

Just got that lotus last night. After just watching the video on the lotus website I was having trouble getting a decent rip. Then I watched a few of the videos here I noticed you guys have you lighters turned up just a bit more then the 1/2 they recommend. Finally, I got a nice blast.

I'll report back once I get some practice in and really learn how to work it. :)

Ah, I tried using my coffee grinder instead of my hand grinder. The coffee grinder produces a much more finely ground product, and I had a BHO style sit-down rip. :mmmm:

Awesome to hear, I am on the edge of my seat waiting for mine!
How long did it take from the time you were told your package shipped?

I started grinding finely when I was still smoking combustibles, and now that I am vaping I have taken it a bit extreme... I grind on a 4-piece grinder, then muddle the contents until it is the consistency of sand. Huge improvements in vapor quality with the finer material. If the trees are at all moist, just let it sit out for a little bit and it will harden and dry up nicely- Dry material makes grinding to a fine dust possible. It just won't break down the same if still moist.

*BTW~ Is there a way to upload photos directly to this website, or must I upload elsewhere and then post a link? I would prefer to upload directly if possible.
