Just picked up one of these! I got it in yesterday, but didn't find a place that sold Butane Fuel other than Ronson small bottles. It had no mention of any refinement or whatever, so I had to go to a specialty shop today and picked up Vector Quintuple Filtered(seems excessive :p) Butane Fuel.

I been playing with the Butane Lighter but have no idea how to accurately measure the flame being 1/2 -5/8 inches in length. I can see a light blue aura around what seems to be the darkest part of the flame, the light aura extends pretty far though. This is my first time playing with such a lighter @_@. I've been making tons of small adjustments to try to match the model of the flame that's on the lighter.

Well, I just discovered that the lotus, while not a perfect fit, can work with my glass underdog stems! Isn't that cool?

I also got lucky, I have a couple of 14mm glass stems similar to yours, just a bit shorter, that with the addition of an O ring on the glass tube, to support and create a seal with the cap, they fit well enough to use this way too. Nice find for sure!

Thank you for this reference. This is great. I have a new question though! Since I was playing with my lighter a lot, I have under a half tank full of the gas now in my lighter. Am I allowed to top it off? Or do I have to wait until I actually finish all the gas. Or can I just empty it out by pressing in the bottom button?

Would the (liquid?) drip out and I would have to clean it?

I re-fill without finishing all of the fluid and never had any issues. My procedure generally is to flip the lighter upside down, burp it (bleed out air/gas/propellent), then fill up to about 85% of chamber's capacity. I have not wanted/tried to empty fluid from the re-fill port however if you do and it sprays/drips all over maybe wipe it down with a slightly damp towel and allow some time to air dry before use.

I can get the Lotus from EZ vapes for $105 shipped. This is for the turquoise, 6.5 inch stem, with grinder, and rewritable glass jar.


...or should I pay the premium for the version I wanted, the one with the natural finish? I can get the natural finish from Mendocino for $125 shipped.


I think for the extra $20, I might go ahead and get the natural finish so it does not chip. Does anyone know of anywhere else I might look to find a better deal on one with a natural finish?

I'm pretty sure as of right now the only place to get a natural finish is directly from Mendocino,I just when through this same thing.
Currently waiting for delivery.

But the benefit of ordering directly from MT is you are guaranteed the newest model and great customer service

I find it most entertaining when I read in this thread its often alot of extra lighter tech talk as opposed to say other portable threads tgat are all battery tech. Its a pleasent change for sure. I hope to be seeing mine in the mail early this week. Can't wait for a good test drive!

Aight, thank you sir for the prompt response. Ordering from Mendo now; looks like I am willing to pay the premium for the Natural;)

Does anyone know the dimensions of the herb scoop? Is it a worthwhile tool, or do most people just pinch/pour their ground material into the bowl?

Since I am going to order from Mendocino, I am going to add a pack of screens to my order. How often do you guys find it necessary to clean your screen and bowls?

I paid 108.80 strait from mendo and that was with the lighter upgrade. Some times being cheap doesnt really pay.... id pay the extra bucks again just cause I get what I want with zero settlement (which is a huge savings really)

I was on the fence for a long time. Basically bc I was a fan of the VG coil and the fact you can get 3 coils for the price of one Lotus. Well let's just say I'm glad I have a Lotus and not a bunch of coils hanging around. This vape is amazing with my pipesdaddy Sherlock it's hard to use something else lately!! I get an initial taste similar to a solo on level 3 on my first rip, then a great taste that I can only get from my Lotus, similar to my direct draw from my EV-2 but thicker and yummier on my 2nd rip. 3rd and fourth rip usually aren't bad but for me it seems like that 2nd rip I extract the goodies. Off to do more yummier sciencing!!:science:

Thank you to everyone for the guidance and in helping me make this decision... to think that less than one week ago, I had never even heard of the Lotus:) I came here thinking I would end up with a FF or something similar... very glad I asked around and I am thankful for the guidance received.

Had I gotten the FF, I think I would have been quite disappointed as I need a daily driver than can be used off the grid and away from power.

I am so excited! Thanks FC!

Scoop is 1 3/16" length. 6/16" wide. 1/4" height.

You can use your bowl on the stem or WPA as a scoop as well. IMO, the scoop would be worth it if you don't have anything to pick up kief.

What size screens are used in the Al stem and WPA? mine are filthy and destroyed. Thanks in advance!

Edit: So I tried just torching the screens with my honest lighter and they ended up getting 99% clean, pretty pleased! Now the airflow isn't restricted. Also, I cleaned the WPA for the first time since buying it 2 months ago. Piece of cake! Just another reason I am head over heels for this vape.

On a side note, is anyone else's cap filthy undernearth? The wood looks to be covered in resin and some specks of herb.

Hi! Yup I got it. Very thick and very clean! It's awesome with my ac's but like Jam said about larger bore Jhook applies with this piece. I'm going to try some cotton in the bottom of wpa, multiple screens, etc. My main intention was a jhook that stands on it's own for ac's, lotus, PnP , which this does but not stable unless ac attached or would have to be held. I think some would complain about it being to close to the face. Dabs with a bit of water in the bottom are very nice!! I will get a lot of use out of this pipe but for my Lotus it's my pipesdaddy Sherlock with tubing over wpa for plug, it's sooooooooo good I've only fired up the LSV a few times to get blasted bc I've honestly been flavor chasing like a fien with that piece, even had to get it out a few times while testing the HNSW! I use my plug in's the most.
The LOTUS I used yesterday for one session and the first 2 rips were nice.
My long JHOOK (SHERLOCK) was my set up!

So best place to get a j hook? Do you need the WPA for a J hook or can I get one which the heat exchange will fit onto directly? I have a WPA but just wondering
