In the whip tubing thread everyone is stating it's vinyl.

It appears that the DB tubing is made out of vinyl tubing, which can tolerate temperatures to about -40* C.

i believe the 7th Floor stuff is also a blend of vinyl

So, 7th floor: Vinyl. Do not freeze/ do not over heat; do not soak in ISO! Yes it is a specific vinyl wich is studied to trap as less particulates as possible while not having the usual (horrible) PVC taste.

That will not happen, as the info ,is 100% proprietary.
Those that do not like the tubing are most assuredly free to use anything else they like.
I would avoid Garden hose.

everyone in a thread stating anything does not make it so.
Call 7th floor.
They will tell you it is Tygon, with a proprietary high temp element to make it supple

Tygon is a brand, not a type of plastic. On the SSV website they state:

"1 Glass Kit (includes heater cover, wand, 3ft. of 3/4" food grade vinyl tube, clear glass mouthpiece) "

and

"It is far better than silicon tubing"

I don't care to know what it is made of, just stating it is NOT in fact Silicone tubing.

Correct, thats why I quoted from the 7th Floor website.

Proprietary doesn't come into it, Teflon is also proprietary but the manufacturer has no issue making the datasheet available. FYI Datsheets are made precisely for the public to use & all plastic manufs supply them as standard.

Standard practice is for 7th Floor to supply the Datasheet from the manufacturer. They can't do this over the phone, if you have a contact at 7th Floor Vitolo maybe you can ask them to e-mail you the datasheet so we can put this to bed.

It does not matter what the Manufacturer of Teflon has no issue doing.
I am telling you flat out the proprietary blend information will not be disclosed.
Edit (to avoid offending anyone....):
In my opinion

Hello Silver Surfer users,
A couple of weeks ago I asked here about two water tools I find on the web to replace the SSV glass moutpiece, but no one answered me, so I just bought them:

and this

And I'll let you know soon how they works :)

These are Watertools or HydraTubes, they are used like this:

I guess you could still use them as extra large mouth pieces, but I'd rather use a small bubbler, like the D020 from the cheap chinese glass thread.

Would anyone recommend the spherical ground glass HC and Wand? I am curious. I currently have the standard version. I generally use my SSV through a water pipe with an adapter.

Alright, I've decided on the SSV over the LSV. I'm not concerned about the tubing used; I have tons of medical grade silicone sitting around that I can use. Now more questions: what is the preferred wand type for people here? What wand produces the thickest hits? Do some wands allow less airflow (and therefore cause more draw resistance) than others?

I see that there are 3 options: standard, ground glass and spherical ground glass. I have been leaning towards the spherical ground glass but I was wondering if the wider bowl would cause less vapor production (more air:vapor) than the standard or the ground glass. As well, would anyone be able to explain the difference between the standard wand and the ground glass? I found a video YouTube reviewing the 3 wands but the audio cuts out when he explains the standard wand.

Also, I've been hearing about people having to adjust the position of the ceramic heating element in order for the SSV to operate correctly. How often does this occur? Is it an easy fix if you do end up having to adjust it?

Okay, it's decided, I'm gonna go ahead and order a SSV with ground glass HC & wand as well as the Standard HC & wand. I'll likely do this tomorrow because I still have to decide on colours :D Any suggestions for some badass looking colour schemes?

I have a vein model, white hammertone enamel with black cracks on it, its pretty awesome. I got a black and white speckled wand and mouthpeice with black tubing to go for the full colour theme. its pretty geee

Incredible. It looks super convenient. I bet the taste beats a whip. I almost always use my SSV with a water pipe adapter and a perc bong with ice. I mostly smoke alone, so a set up like this is ideal, and be less hassle than having all those pieces. How easy is it to stir the bowl? What type of water tool is that? Very cool.

i lift the adapter bowl out between hits so stirring is no problem. the water tool is from glassblowersdirect.

gonna try it dry for my nightcap...

Hello FC, as I told you before I ordered the Aqua Vape to use as SSV mouthpiece and finally it's here!
Here is some pics of my session of yesterday:

I'm literally in love with this tool. Ripping my SSV has never been so smooth.

You know when you let a friend try for the first time your SSV and you need to teach him how to draw properly? This won't happen again with Aqua Vape, because the airflow is just PERFECT.
And you can vape in any position.

Huge clouds and PS4.

As you can see it's spill proof, and fits in the standard SSV bag!

The price/quality ratio in excellent in my opinion (34 euro), I hope you like it.

Ordered my SSV a couple nights ago :D Just decided to go all black, nice and slick, and plain enough to guarantee I'll never grow sick of the aesthetics.

I ordered it with the ground glass wand and I got a standard wand on the side. I originally ordered the standard 'fatty' wand but decided I want the standard wand after realizing the standard wand was big enough, lol. I called in and talked to Chris and he said I could still switch that at this point so I went ahead and did that (difference was $4 that I'm being refunded).

Now, I'm a worrier and since the change in the order (standard 'fatty' wand switched to standard wand) hasn't appeared on 'My Orders' on the SSV website, I'm worrying. As well, the money hasn't been refunded yet either. This is likely all fairly normal and in the mind of everyone else it may be good :p but like I said I'm a worrier (I probably just need a nice big vape bong outta my EQ, LOL).

Anybody that could set a non-stoned mind at ease would be excellent haha!

Thanks, Vitolo, you know your stuff! Relaxation in process... :D

It's not really full blown worry just a little perfectionist worrying going on, so really nothing to errr.. worry about, haha.
