Arizer Solo

M1D2 I had to put an Oring right away. No draw restrictions it's just perfect. I use a dome screen with another screen on top (sandwich method) to keep the unit clean and get an even dark brown to black abv. This unit I'm comparing it to an extreme Q. With the PA it's in use all day and each session is amazing! Sometimes I get three sessions with one stem. First one on level 3, second one on level 4 or 5 and last one on 6. This thing is my home and portable unit.

Does the fact that my serial number begins M1C mean anything? I see lots of you guys talking about the C or D being discussed, so it is obviously important. Does this foretell any problems for my Solo?

Have you guys ever had a problem with your Solo where it turns off after 20 seconds or so?

I've been saying this for a while that when I leave my solo's plugged in the lights and timer work off the clock not the PA. This is what wears the battery down, the battery is working 24/7 when plugged in. The timer never stops cycling.

Try this, unplug PA, when your ready to do a session, look at clock, plug in , set temp, do session, when it shuts off in 12minutes leave plugged in, wait 10minutes set temp to heat up and see if it goes only 2 minutes now like both mine because the timer never stops on these, it runs off the battery.

I use my solo's 90% plugged in but I unplug when session done, never get those short cycles and conserve battery.

From what I know, no not necessarily. Those are just production numbers for the solo and having an M1C or M1D does not mean your bound to run into issues

My M1D2 stem is also very loose. First solo so nothing else to compare with. Draw isn't too restrictive though. Herb is darker nearer bottom of stem, but all gets nicely browned.

My M1D2 stems are also very loose, i had to go buy a o ring right away.

My M1D2 stems are also very loose, i had to go buy a o ring right away.

I have an M1D2 that I recieved as a warranty replacement. The cap does not fit right, it goes on without the threads and only "catches" the last few threads as a quarter turn is all it takes to cinch it down. So I am afraid to use an "O" ring for fear of detroying the last of the threads.

Instead of an "O" ring, what I do is wait until the unit heats up before inserting the stem. When inserting I make sure to push exactly straight down. I also remove the stem before it cools. I feel this puts less stress on that black factory retaining ring and causes less stretching of that ring material. The other thing I do is to try not to rock the stem a lot. This is easier now that the heater chamber holes are bigger and the draw restriction is no longer an issue. When too much pressure is applied that ring rises up about an eighth inch and causes the loose stem. When I notice the stem becoming loose again, I take something soft like a pen or memory stick etc. and carefully push it back down, applying pressure in a circle so the black ring is again flush with the top of the heating chamber. Works every time. Nice and snug again.

Does anyone ever put their solo in a mcdonalds cup or something when they go out? Living in the NYC area makes things tough to conceal things, and I wanted to know what everyone uses to keep their solo hidden or discreet in public (if anything).

Here's what I use when I want to be stealthy:

Be sure you clean the stem before you go.

I have an M1D2 unit and the stem would get a little loose after it has been running for a bit, but it isnt anywhere loose enough to fall out. My herb is pretty evenly brown but it is a little darker at the part that touches the metal. Also, are there any benefits for putting a screen on the bottom of the heating chamber?

I use the same! Very stealthy!

One snag, when I use mine at night, the cup lit up like a disco ball! Keep that in mind so you can properly "shield" the inside of your cups if necessary!

my solo dolo is coming tomorrow and unfortunatly i haven't got weed so, i was just wondering if i can put some solid hash in it maybe whith an extra screen and some avb or tea (?!) or somethin to reduce the mess in the chamber; the point is that my hash is the ole chainsaw-proof piece-of-crap and i'm not sure if it will actually melt/vaporize.
Can anyone help me?

Oh yes. Ive vaped leb pollem and even black. Works very well. Put a screen in heating chamber so it does not stick to bottom. Ive only vaped solids

Put a chunk in. On its own. Heat up to 5 remove then crumble put back in. Do 2 sessions on 5 then 2 on 7 to finish off.no need for cotton wool or abv. Screen at bottom of heating chamber will keep it all clean.

Should you charge solo until green light is solid? Our just until 7 bars lit up and still flashing?

If still flashing is it right after it hit 7 lights or say half hour after and still flashing?

Same thing with when to charge. One light? No light? Or when charge light comes on?

A thing to be said about stealthiness.. i'm finding the Solo is smelling up way more than when I was smoking. I guess a few minutes at level 7 which produces a lot of vapor and is heating up the herbs the whole time smells a lot more than when I smoke and I take 3-4 quick one-hitter bowls in the bong. GF has been commenting that since starting vaping the entire place is starting to smell during a session, when before with the quick bong rips she never noticed unless coming into the back room where I smoke. She hates the smell and wants me to go outside so I figured a vaporizer would help in that regard but so far it's been more noticeable. I already use a smokebuddy as well. Bummer... in the summer I don't care as much but in this cold ass weather I just want to stay inside! lol...

I kept reading vaporizing was far less smelly and such but I wouldn't be very confident with one of these in public.

Just to offer another perspective ,
I've never followed that recharging routine . For convenience ,
it has always charged full over night , as I slept .
And I know it's been fully charged beyond a few hours .

My M107 is still going strong after 2 1/2 yrs .
Albeit , It's been reduced to 2 hours of portable battery power on
levels 5 and 6 recently . Down from 2 1/2 hrs of straight usage .

I would like to think that the Li-on battery companies are also
aware of this ' Common Knowledge ' of the quirk on the re-charge
that they have rectified it . idk if it can be done tho .

I'll probably be doing the same thing with the new pass-thru
versions too . It's just more User Friendly than to stop-watch my
charging procedures ...Everyday ! All that for a few extra charges
and battery life ...

It's Sound Advice but ,
No thanx , Life's too short to count pennies that way ... jmo
Don't worry and enjoy your Solo .

Maybe your bowl is dirty? I think dirty bowls are mostly responsible for smelling.

As for vapor smelling. I dont have much exp vaping inside. But when we play cards at a friends place, i vape at 5 and blow the clouds the other way. 0 smell. Not a faint odor quickly going away, 0 smell. I remember reading another post where a member vapes along side his girlfriend with similar results.

Yea it's a pvhes gong that i've used quite a bit so its kinda dirty now but I figured that would cause the bowl to smell and any sort of bag it was in. I'm getting comments that when vaping in the basement it can be smelled in the kitchen and far bedroom. Something that never happened when smoking.

A typical session with vape is two gong stems at 7 through bubbler within the 12 minute timer. Usually around 6 clouds each stem. A typical session with combustion is 3-4 single hit bowls through a larger bong with a bowl much dirtier than my solo stem. With combustion there is only the 3-4 smoke clouds vs the 12 vapor clouds. That's the only thing I can think of. I was actually really surprised it's more noticeable because I DID read about that guy vaping right beside his GF... mine says it's definitely noticeable, I don't get it... maybe i'll try setting 5 with normal dry stem and see what response that gets.
