I think that you are packing your elbow too tight. I suck through the wand until the elbow screen is full. I then turn it over and touch it with my finger enough to keep it in the screen. I don't push down hard just enough so I will stay. I put enough in so it is heaping. If it falls out don't worry, the next draw will pull it back up into the elbow. After a few hits and it starts to slow down I blow it out into the cyclone bowl with a light puff. Next draw up into the elbow it goes. Kind of shaking it up without opening it. I can't help with temp without a calculater. Mine is Celsius and I was setting at 190*C.

Now I have a Ddave f/f adapter and a SSV wand!!!! What a difference. I am new to vaporizing and it is hard to get rid of the combustion mind set. I was not getting good results last night at 200*C when I did the day before. I was not letting the mj warm up. If I let it sit there for a minute or two then take a hit the clouds would follow! Thanks Ddave and all the others that experimented with the Q to make it a rock!

For me I have to pre heat the Q for 5 minutes then insert whip and take a hit. At 190c.
Then after 2-3 hits I take wand out turn Q up to 210c stir the abv in wand, wait 5 mins then take another 2-3 hits and do same process at 230c

That's awesome! Very happy to hear the mod is working out for you too! I loved the EQ from day 1 and the mods not only make it a great performing machine, but most of them aren't permanent, so any time you want to revert back to stock (slower, tasty sessions), it's very easily possible.

i guess all machines differ bc i can pack a cyclone bowl or ddave adapter half way and it will go for about 20min and produce clouds that slowly get smaller and less dense the whole way through. i found when packing the elbow , 1 - it gets clogged allot quicker and needs cleaning and 2- i feel it restricts airflow a bit for me.

Savage your correct about the pre heat. I forgot that part. I have not adjusted the temp much like I do with cyclone bowl. I am sure I will give it a try this weekend.

Justpassedu my DDave adapter screen sits very close to the heating element. I think if I tried to fill it I would have to turn the heat down. I am sure all these adapters are different. We need a distributer to stock these with screens in them. I have a one inch screen in mine and its to small. That's another reason I have not packed it yet... The screens do get dirty in the elbow packs but I have three and I rotate into a bowl of alcohol. If the flow is restricted then it is dirty or you are packing to hard IMHO. But what do I know I am a nube! I am going to give the ELB's a try in the old elbow this weekend also.

Even stock, with no modes, should be I be getting more hits then that. I mean idk when I hit it like really deep 4 times I stop seeing any vape. My medication is brown in color with maybe a piece or two that's left green still. So idk why I don't see anymore seems like I'm wasting more then I wss before.

Hey guys!

Been using my EQ for about a year now, and I love it. I am ready to upgrade to an all glass air path though. I have seen some pictures of people's set ups on their own EQs, but all the lingo about adapters and what not has me confused.

Could anyone point me in the right direction in simple terms? I am looking to completely eliminate any tubing. The Hydratubes from VapeXhale look fun. Any way to mount those to an EQ?

If it's impossible I will bite the bullet and save up some cash to get a Cloud.

Thanks to everybody that helped me out with this. Got it all going today and it is great! Had to cut the top bonnet off of the ELB to make it fit into the adapter (kinda just a mesh sack now), but with the cap on it it fits perfectly!

Awesome looking setup!

Be careful how much pressure you put on the mouth piece during a draw. Due to "leverage" the pressure will increase significantly at the adapter/heater part of this glass setup!

What the advantage of using the adapter vs using the dry mouthpiece directly on top of the element?

Could be the medication, is it a new batch, did they not trim it properly and it's full of leaves? That will effect your vapor, also you said you have had it for about a month. You can try cleaning it, I clean my elbow and elbow screen with ISO at least once a month, sometimes more. I also clean out the tubing the best I can with some dry q-tips, no ISO on tubing. It really only gets dirty right at the end where it meets the elbow. I have had the black 7th floor tubing for quite some time now and it is still like brand new. I love that stuff, it's a little too big though and I have to hold it on with zip ties, twist ties, rubber bands, and the like. I have no idea what it's made of though, and they wont tell me their secret.

I know I need 5/16" silicone tubing but the following seller I found on ebay has his tubing listed as OD x ID and it's listed in mm's

That listing is kind of confusing, but I can help you with the size. Closest size to inner 5/16 is 8mm, 8mm is a tiny bit larger. Outer size 7/16 is a little bigger then 11mm, good luck whatever you decide to do.

There would be no place for the herb if it was just the mouthpiece over the element. The male portion of the adapter holds the herb in an ELB (like the Cloud).

How about a screen in the mouthpiece and an elbow upside down pressed against the screen?

I am about to try some wax in the Q for the 1st time , how are all you going about this and how does the Q work with wax ? Do i just put a drop on a cotton ball and put it in the cyclone ?

just past the female end of the tube there's a little bubble that will accommodate a screen, I think maybe 3/4 inch. you can pack an EQ elbow screen and put it inside the female end of the Vapexhale dry tube with the open end of the elbow screen facing the screen. then carefully put it on top of the EQ heating element. With the herb practically right on top of the element, you can vaporize at relatively low temps.

I have a couple stupid questions......First one is, do you think there is a problem using an extension cord with the Q? The second is, Would you vape in your walk in closet? I have been set up in the master bathroom but have teens in the house. I would like to retreat a little farther back into hiding but don't want to stink up the clothes. Is there any residual smell? I told you they were stupid questions...

Don't believe the EQ draws enough Amps to negate the use of an extension cord.

Regarding vaping in the closet, definitely... Search for "Sploof" in the titles of postings to find devices that you can purchase or make that will help cover the smell....

Yea I vape all day and don't want to blow into a tube. I don't smell much of anything and don't see it being a problem. I don't want my wife to have someone say something at work about the way her clothes smell. That would not be good.

You will need something to neutralize the odor, not block its escape. I have a friend in a similar situation; his wife dislikes the smell plus it is is critical her clothes not absorb it. He tells me that when he uses the whip in the closet she notices the smell but it is certainly much less than using a bowl. He notices it after leaving and returning later, so it definitely lingers.

IME using the bag releases less smell, if done right. I.e., use a smaller load enough for just one bag, stir no more than once, use Fan 1 or 2, cap the cyclone when finished. Move to another location to vape with bag. (And rig something like a round pencil end to cap the bag.)

YMMV.

WOW.... I dont think Ive ever been as stoned in my life, I felt paralysed from the neck down at one stage lol, both my friends agreed

I have a few questions for you pros out there:

1) When storing ABV whats the best way to store it? In plastic bags/glass/the freezer etc?

2) Any easy way to clean the screen on the elb and the bowl? I only had 1 vap session with friends but the screen & inside the bowl is quite sticky already, (I dont have access to ISO)

3) At around what temp does the weed start to taste bad.... like the burnt popcorn taste? (I got it last night but cant remember what temp it was at coz I was so smashed)

4) If you can put a fugure on it, how much do you put in the bowl? 0.1g, 0.2g, 0.3g etc? (I want to use my cannabis as efficiently as possible as its very expensive in my country)

6) Do you guys generally do 2 balloons per bowl?

5) Whats your prefered temp? (I know everyone is different but I'd like some opinions)

Hello there. Glad you're enjoying your Extreme Q. I got mine about a month ago and I've been using it to treat my ADD.

1) I store my ABV material in plastic airtight containers. You can order some online or you can just pick up some cheap ones from the dollar store. At first I let a few hungry friends have the leftover material but they said they didn't get anything out of it so I've decided to use it toward edibles.

2) I think I'll skip this one. I've been rather lazy and only cleaned the filters.

3)4)5)6) if you're using the cyclone bowl I wouldn't go over 400 or so. The closer to the "fire" the more heat directly on the product. If you're using the elbow pack you can go up to about 428 without any combustion flavor. The elbow is farther from the fire in comparison to the cyclone. I prefer to just pack the elbow(the piece that the whip is attached to) it sits upside down but if you pack it right the material won't fall down. I've found one good elbow pack is enough for a really good time for one person. It probably uses about 0.10g.

I start at 374 which is 190c and then bump it up to 392f which is 200c after a while. After I feel like I'm not getting anymore out of it I turn up the heat to 428f. The elbow is much farther from the heat than the cyclone so it doesn't combust. I'd say you have to take about 40 50 degrees off the label temp to determine heat at the source. I'm personally not a fan of the bags unless I have people over and they can't understand how to breathe with whip.

If you do decide to use whip though. Let the sides of your mouth stay a bit open so you can still draw air like normal while you inhale and let the back if your throat relax. Take small hits because any visible vapor is wasted rather than absorbed into the body. I miss the big clouds but it bothers me to think of wasted vapor. It's so much more effective than joints though. 1 joints worth of material in the vape hits me hard.

I am back to elbow packs because I broke my DDave adapter. I knew I should order back ups! I have two on the way now.
Daddy bear I pack the elbow just enough to hold itself in. I like it on 190c-200c. You will get 6-10 good ones then when I notice it giving up I puff gently and it falls into the cyclone bowl. I gently draw it back into the elbow and puff again, gently. I find that it shakes it up without opening and stirring. I know that some of the small stuff will end up hitting the heating element but I don't think it hurts it. My ABV looks like coffee grounds when I'm done.

Lately I have noticed that I get a first good session from my EQ and then leave it on all night but either its because I'm totally waisted or something is not quite right as it does not produces the same vapours as on the first session?

Could it be something wrong with the heater ? But than again if something was up with it, would it work at all?
