Finally ordered a full Lotus kit this morning from Mendocino Therapeutics. It seemed that all the other retailers were out of stock (except ezvapes has the turquoise version). Can anybody in the US who ordered from Mendocino tell me how long it took you to get to your order?

I'm pumped!!!

All right, I still have much to learn but I feel educated and confident to order a Lotus! I have been on the fence the last few months on a portable to compliment my Plenty, and this is for me.

What is the best package offered right now? Is it recommended to buy direct from their website, or from ezvaporizers.com?

How do I know if I am buying a v1 or v2 version? What are the differences?

Does the shorter stem hit harder, or does it get hotter?

I think I am going to get the straight stem, with wooden natural finish.

Are there any active coupon codes for either site right now?
If you want to carry it around in your pocket, get the aluminum stem.
Otherwise get the j-hook (kit) and maybe a small bubbler later.
Get it direct and you'll have the latest version.

Thanks for the advice, definitely going with the aluminum stem but not sure yet if the 5.5 inch or the 6.5 inch stem is more liked by users.

I will likely in time buy the water pipe adapter to use on my GonG bubbler, but have no intention of getting the dust off that anytime soon. It has been cleaned and put away since I gave up combustion over a year ago.

I ordered mine from EZVapes and they were great. The lighter I received didn't work and they sent me a $15 lighter for free.

Doing my after dinner session with the Lotus, i was thinking about the taste and i realized something that is not said often enough: the taste in the Lotus improves a lot once the wood is seasoned. When i first got the Lotus i noticed a faint wood taste closer to the MFLB albeit less and it was more noticeable as the hit got longer and the wood got hotter.

But i have come to realize that the taste is pratically gone. I can't taste anything. I'm sure that if i blind test with my gn0me i will notice a diference. But unlike the metal taste or the plastic taste that is noticeable very very slightly in other vapes, the wood kind of mixes with the herbs own taste and so, with the Lotus, that hint of wood becomes another note on the taste of your herbs and a pleasant one.

When I had my Hot Pod (glass air/vapor path) I used to do some A/B testing with the Lotus and I never noticed any differences in taste if I can recall correctly… :)

You know I have the lotus the solo and the PNP and I keep coming back to the lotus. I went out and got a different j hook today just because it seems like it would be easier to carry around. It's a color changer too :)

I like that J hook, looks nice and narrow, I found the open wide body j hooks (usually 18mm) tend to be really hard to milk up, because the draw is just so unrestricted, though you still get plenty of vapor, but if you want a big fat milky hit, I've found adding a bit of restriction helps, its all a fine balance from piece to piece. That is a very cool J hook, being a color changer is bonus! IMO :D

So I'm having a few issues, which are most likely my fault.
I've noticed that recently it's difficult to get a good draw, as of something is plugged.
I've been keeping the lotus in my car (not the lighter, it doesn't work well when its cold) and the weather here has been frigid. I recall several times that I've heard a pronounced *click*, which i assumed to be the hot plate expanding with the sudden heat from the lighter. Is it possible this caused some damage to disrupt the airflow? I need to take it apart but I have to buy a tiny hex wrench first.
I guess I may need to also buy a new hot plate.
So I guess it would be a good idea to avoid storing your lotus in cold conditions without giving it time to acclimate before lighting.

Edit: I also wonder if it could be the actual wood that had possibly swelled or something? The small intake holes on the bottom are clear so it must be the chamber where the air passes underneath the plate. I hope i don't need to buy an entire cap but I will if need be. I'm obsessed with the little vape.

I don't notice the click but many have reported the same and they did not have airflow issues.

If the intake holes are clean and the small holes in the middle of the bottom plate that is visible from the outside as well, i'm guessing there is something between the two metal plates like you said.

I suggest you get your hands on an allen key and get that sorted. ;)
