The Lotus Vaporizer

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
This is the jet flame torch lighter i've been using at home with the Lotus:
sku_152172_1.jpg

It looked cheap to me, was not a fan of the color, and dreaded that it would take forever to arrive from deal extreme. But I ordered anyways since it has a larger tank, 90 deg nozzle, 4 inch height, easy flame adjustment, transparent body/butane level visibility, and cheap. This one has been working well for me for over a month now, just needs to be burped from time to time.

Skipped the Lotus scoop because I use these mini measuring spoons.

Yeah. That is very similar the one I use except the flame adjustment is on the top. 8 bucks from Harbor Freight. I think the same one Svun-yah uses? I also have a bigger one I used to use for nails, but it is a little more awkward.

Just ordered tha j-hook kit with wpa, i only have a few DOUBLE flame torches. Are those gunna work? Or do i need to go pick up a single?
You will be fine with the double depending on your draw speed. I have always drawn really hard and it makes it hard to use some vaporizers. But when I got the double torch it seemed to work the best due to my draw speed. But others were saying it was too much. So it all depends on you. I get huge tasty hits with this method and I keep the torch on the plate the whole time even. Here is a quick vid.

Dirty j hook but you get the idea.

NSFW due to language from lighter malfunction lol

Just got my lotus home today! Unbeknownst to me it had been waiting at the postal depot for the past two days, so discovering a slip from the post office (customs charges ugh!) in my letter box this morning really brightened my day! I really should check my letter box more often :D Went to pick it up, got back and loaded that sucker up straight away.

First hit actually went quite well, not too cloudy, but I got something. Second and third hit were a little better but still not particularly cloudy. After waiting a while to ensure I don't get too medicated (I haven't vaporised in months!) I anxiously loaded up a second bowl. This time I waited more like 5 seconds before inhaling, making sure that baby was glowing! That really paid off and I got a huge hit. The second hit was just as big, if not bigger! Not to mention incredibly tasty.

Suffice to say I'm loving the lotus already. I can't wait to actually finish work so i can go at it hard. I noticed that the WPA adapter looks like it will fit a small glass bong I have (the two bowls I've had have been with pipe stem), so I'm looking forward to trying that out as well. Few friends are coming over for a game of poker this evening - we shall be getting hella vapey :science:

Edit: have had multiple hits now, getting used to the technique quickly. Producing glorious vapor clouds. The hits are at least as good as my DBV was (RIP), can't wait to master it and see what it's capable of!

Oh yeah. It's definitely the bad language that makes that not suitable for work. :D

That harbor freight is rated 2000 degrees and is too much for my liking. I have been using this lighter rated for triple refined or better @ 1300 degrees and it's been fantastic!

Nice video! Looks like you got some quality blue vapor there.

Alright, which finish looks the best? I am torn between the options and I am about to make the jump into a lotus;)

Are there any significant differences between getting the 5.5 or 6.5 inch stems?

About how much material fits in the bowl? I cannot seem to tell from the pictures.

Is it possible to change the pipe screen in the lotus? I was a few hits deep before I considered this yesterday and it was a bit too clogged up to see properly

I would suggest the Natural finish for longevity… The painted ones will eventually chip and need repainting.
The longer stem give slightly cooler hits, the shorter one is more pocketable…
You can fill it up to 0.2g but a more comfortable load would be 0.1g. Less possibilities to overheat this way. I sometimes barely cover the screen with 0.02g if I have good enough herbs. Less is MORE!!!

Just unscrew the little screw in the front of the al stem and with a bent paperclip, push the screen from below. Then you can easily clean or replace the screen and clean the pipe.. :)

Awesome, I assumed as much but didn't want to just rip it out without checking. Going for a little hike so wanted it in tip top condition to test its portability :D

I have noticed that the lighter is actually a important part of the lotus setup. I only had a weeks worth of luck with either stock torches. The honest lasting a little longer. Both had very heavy starter pull's which made my hands tremble at the angle necessary to heat the lotus.

I have mostly used a Jet flame (the one on the left in this pic) I have 2, both burlwood type, and the first one is now going on 9 years (10 this may). The jet flame is the only "upright" torch that i found also works upside down with out a loss of gas flow. The jet flame also has an adjustment knob as opposed to having to cary a small screwdriver around, you just use your fingers and give it a twist. It also has the smoothest trigger pull action you will get with out spending over the 100 dollar mark. My jet flame only cost me 17 dollars locally from a sex toy/cigar shop. This is a bad pic of the jet flame, it really has beautiful metal and made very nicely but has dust in its cracks in this photo.

The zico which is the curved one also has become the favorite since its powerful and has great ergonomics. its trigger pull is also very light and smooth. I always fill all my lighters with vector fuel and it makes a big difference. All of the unrefined gas creates a stench when used that actually gave me head aches. Cleaner fuel will also help your torch burner run cooler and thus extending the life of your starter. This lighter was also only 20 dollars locally from a sex toy/cigar shop. It really has a nice brushed finish that can be re-brushed since its real SS.

I have one other lighter, a st dupont maxi lighter. I rarely use it but its the best one I own. its not practical at the price point but once upon a time in my combustion days i collected these things. I only use the st dupont when "conferencing" with other connoisseurs or hot babes. I would post a pic of this lighter but its just so hard to catch a good pic of it that does its quality justice. (very shiny and italian like)

How do the two different torches from Lotus measure up against those others? Are Lotus's torches easy to light and hold down, or is there much resistance?

Are you gonna take your lotus preloaded or you are gonna load on the spot?

I was taking a back pack with me so I didn't bother preloading. I just got to a quiet area with some wind shelter and prepared the lotus. Difficult to judge how much flame you're getting in the sunlight - accidentally combusted my first bowl. It tasted disgusting! Found some shade and that provided better visibility for the second bowl which worked a charm.

I guess when I become more adept with the lotus I'll be able to pull it off in the sunlight.

Ive also started enjoying smaller bowls, perhaps half full? Seem to be a bit more flavour, less overpowering.

You are on a nice road to vapor bliss... With time you can eyeball the distance of the lighter from your hot plate and be able to take a hit even with bright sunlight. You won't even need to eyeball it at some point. The taste and the heat on the tongue are more than enough feedback and you don't even need to adjust the lighter perfectly if you trust your tongue...

Personally I like how the black cap matches the stem. I think the proportions of the 5.5 inch stem are more pleasing.

I only have the plain torch, but it's easy. It'll overheat long before your thumb gets tired.

All right, I still have much to learn but I feel educated and confident to order a Lotus! I have been on the fence the last few months on a portable to compliment my Plenty, and this is for me.

What is the best package offered right now? Is it recommended to buy direct from their website, or from ezvaporizers.com?

How do I know if I am buying a v1 or v2 version? What are the differences?

Does the shorter stem hit harder, or does it get hotter?

I think I am going to get the straight stem, with wooden natural finish.

Are there any active coupon codes for either site right now?
