As far as I am concerned the SVD is the all around best portable vaporizer in the world. It is really too bad that e-cigarette type vaporizers are not being advertised for cannabis oil use. QWISO, RSO, BHO, quality concentrates like these, the cleaner the better, are awesome in this vaporizer when properly mixed with PG USP.

I am going on 7 months now strictly using an oil vaporizer. I have been growing for 13 years, going on 14. I have smoked cannabis for over 30 years. By far, the best product I have tried in regards to portable vaporizing is a basic e-cannabis oil (quality concentrate diluted with PG USP). I use the innokin SVD. Nothing has compared. I have spent a ridiculous amount of money trying out different products, more than most can comprehend. Absolutely nothing even comes close to beating a basic innokin SVD with an iClear 30 or iClear 30b bottom fed unit. It takes any 18mm diameter battery. The unit can telescope to whatever battery length you choose between 350mm and 650mm.

I just ordered my third SVD for $37. This will be an additional back up unit. I have seen units for well over $200 that don't even compare to the SVD. You can pretty much attach most other manufacturers devices to it. The SVD offers more options than any other oil vaporizer I have seen.

As far as I am concerned, the SVD is the best. Many other company's products work better on the SVD because you can adjust the voltage and wattage. For example: I attached an Essential mini attachment to my SVD and I could get it to work far better on the SVD than the OEM's battery because I could fine tune the SVD to accommodate the attachment and my oil of choice.

I must say, the SVD with the newly released iClear 30b feels heavy duty, almost like it is a medical tool or instrument. Very cool.

I have only mentioned a small fraction of my experience with portable vaporizers and the SVD.

I am healthier and happier since I began only vaporizing or ingesting concentrated cannabis oil.

Ok, most of this post is gibberish to me. But I am interested in a concentrate pen. I mean what is the PG USP? Or iClear? I want to learn and buy a pen, but it's very confusing!

I make bubble hash and Everclear QWISO. Stuff is pretty clean, almost BHO quality. Can I use it in this devise? Can someone please explain...

PG USP is Propylene Glycol USP used in many e-cigarette oils. It is the main ingredient for premium vaporization. PG USP is all you need for a quality concentrate to work well in a vapor pen. PG USP can be purchased from many e-cigarette suppliers. For example, High Desert Vapes sells it for $3.99 for a 120mL bottle.

iClear is a clearomizer, the part you put your oil into to vape, aka the heater and tank which attaches to the battery component. There are different sizes and styles i.e iClear 16, iClear 30, etc.

Do a google search for one of my blogs My Experience With Portable Vaporizers (Pen Vaporizers) For Concentrated Cannabis Oil And E-Cigarette Oil

After reading my blog, you should no longer be confused. The SVD is far superior to the low grade wanna be vaporizer manufacturers.

@vape4health - You can get an SVD for as low as $37. $199 for a ProVari and the ProVari doesn't compare to the SVD. Right out of the box the SVD has it beat. The SVD telescopes to accept any 18mm diameter battery. The ProVari can only accept one without purchasing an additional cap.

Hi, this thread interest me because I'm looking for a VV battery able to drive DrDabber, Bholt, Omicron cartridges 1.5ohm and TV evo 6V.
So it must to be able to choose voltage between 3.7 and 6V...
I just found VV battery able to make 5V maxi...

I went with a regular kgo VV2 mega 1300mah battery variable voltage variable wattage with a kanger tech protank 3 for nicotine and a vape ape attachment for oil, both work amazingly and never leave me disappointed.

My KGO VV2 adjusts from 3-6v in .05 increments and 3-15w in .01 increments.

Keep in mind that no matter what variable voltage / variable wattage battery you get, you can only adjust either the voltage or the wattage, not both simultaneously. If one were able to adjust both at the same time, it would almost always result in a fire, which well wouldn't be good for business.

I'm thinking that drive the TV evo core could be difficult as there is a 6s autoshutoff and it's not good for the battery, isn't it?

The TV Evo cores want 20 Watts. You'll need a mod that's powered by a DNA20 (or the reportedly soon to be released DNA30) to supply that much power, or you could use a pure mechanical mod (no electronics or wires; just battery and contacts).

Plus as you note all the regulated commercial mods have non-defeatable timeouts built in, and the Evo takes a long time to warm up. So you gotta remember to let up your finger every X seconds.

Innokin's stuff is better suited to concentrates rather than herb. I just picked up an itaste VV V3. It's the size of 900mAh eGo, but has the brains of the much larger full feature mods. So it's full variable wattage as well as variable voltage, has a built in ohm meter, a really nice blue LED display, and a nice multi-colored illuminated fire button. :) It works great, and it charges via a standard micro-usb port on the bottom (with pseudo pass-through as well). It also has a "puff counter", which I initially though I'd never use, but it's nice to know how many hits you can get out of a full charge, or out of a given clearo or the like.

About the only limitation is that it's only 800mAh; that's the tradeoff that allows it to be so small. Unbelievably, it will actually fire a 1.0Ω load (though only at a fixed 3.2 Volts which is 10 Watts, no matter what you set it to). 1.5Ω is about as low as you want to go and still be able to adjust things. Even there you'll be limited to about 3.6 Volts (or 8.5 Watts), even if you set it higher. This is still better than all the eGo type VV's will do, but it's not as good with low ohm loads as some of the much larger Innokin stuff. Once you get to 2.0Ω and above loads, it pretty much puts out what it says it's going to, though it never quite makes 5 Volts or 11 Watts.

As a replacement for any eGo or eGo Twist or Vision Spinner, I recommend this highly. And if you've been looking at one of the bigger VW/VV mods, and like what they can do, but have been put off by their size, you should check this out.

As for the rest, I prefer my MMJ concentrates unadulterated and undiluted with PG/VG, and personally I'm done with the ecig ni-chrome heater wires and silica wicks... but if it works for you then go with it? Should be pretty sweet if it can handle all of the demands of the concentrate carts out on the market.

Thanks Haywood, very informative post! (but I need to re-read it cause my english is really poor...)

And yes Caligula, I prefer undiluted and unadulterated cooncentrates (though I never try e-juice, alone or mixed with shatter), all my devices are made to handle pure concentrates.

Where I live mj is prohibited so I make my own shatter in really small quantities (2-3g/month)

Well, everyone has their favorite vaporizer this is true. I do have a respect for the mechanical vapes, but those are not for the average Joe. All around the SVD rules in my book.

Just look at the variety of batteries that can be used. It is like three different size vaporizers in one.

As for the innokin iClear 30b, that is the freaking best unit I have ever used! The only trick is you need to keep the SVD lying down sideways or else the iClear 30b will leak or drip to the battery.

I have surpassed golden oil, I am into clear and amber now.

Oh, it handles it just fine. The memory settings may be slightly different. Really, you have to clear the memory before doubling the voltage by holding down the power button with no battery to make sure there is no power left in the unit. Put in two small batteries (18350) and you are good to go.

Input 7.4 volts is fine. Yes, you are right the output maxes out at 6 volts. I can't imagine why someone would need 6 volts or more with the output, but with the input, running a higher voltage will give you a more steady current to your heating element. That equals a more perfect hit.

I swear to you all, the SVD is the all around best and the iClear 30b (found at Ziggy's Vapes), they are very new so can be difficult to find. They are the best! The only thing with a bottom coil unit is you need to learn to keep your vaporizer more sideways and don't leave it standing up. With the iClear 30b, using it like that, it does not leak, even one drop. At this point I cannot say that for any other clearomizer I have used.

The $200 units don't even compare.

Of course the unit works great, but really, it all boils down to the quality of the oil. The better the oil, the better it works, and the better the buzz.

Personally, I don't prefer to stack the batteries. I would rather use one of the 18650 protected batteries. Stacking two of the 18350 batteries only equals 1400mAh. Where as you can get the protected batteries (which many units do not accept, but the SVD does) I have seen those with up to 2600mAh, which will last a lot longer. What I prefer to use is the 18350, just one. I like the SVD being shorter, it makes it feel like a completely different unit. You go through a charge kind of quick, maybe one charge is comparable to a 650mAh eGo C Twist.

Haywood - have you had a chance to look at the SLB eGo-V MEGA v3 - I am wondering how it compares to the itaste

I haven't seen one, but I checked it out online, and it looks pretty reasonable. It's round rather than square, and it's about 30% longer (but it also has 50% more capacity). It's also rated at 15W as opposed to the 11W the VV V3 is rated at.

I have no idea whether it works well or sucks, or whether its specs are accurate or bullshit. I think I prefer the display on the VV V3, but that's just personal preference (as is whether you prefer square versus round; I prefer square, though I still love my Vision Spinner batteries, which are round).

:)

From the picture of the box, it looks like there might be a "regular" version (650mAh instead of 1300mAh that the "mega" version provides). If it's appreciably shorter, that might get my attention, but I like tiny batteries.

If you get one, let us all know how it works!

Haywood - have you had a chance to look at the SLB eGo-V MEGA v3 - I am wondering how it compares to the itaste

Just looked up the SLB eGo-V Mega V3, looks pretty nice. I just might just have to buy me one of those real soon.

That is the coolest looking pen battery rig I have seen. Thanks for sharing. It doesn't however, replace the SVD :)

Using the highest quality devices are more suitable for the SVD due to weight and size. Like the iClear 30 fits just fine on a SVD but on a pen batt it is a bit awkward. Going by the specs of the eGo-V MEGA, it should operate all the accessories just as good as a SVD.

EDIT: Took a closer look at the eGo-V MEGA. It does offer 15 watts, but regardless, it only offers half the power a SVD is capable of. How can this be? A SVD is capable of releasing up to 5 amp draw. The eGo-v MEGA is only capable of 2.5 amps. The amps is really the power capabilities. At least when it comes to max output. Also, with a SVD or any good APV MOD there is no waiting for a battery recharge. You simply put a fresh battery in. That pen is really cool. I just wish they made them in the 650mAh the 1300mAh would be long and awkward.
The SVD is 4.25 inches long with an 18350 battery. The eGo-V MEGA is 5.2 inches long. For an extra $20 if you like the pens, you can always go with the iTaste V-3 VV innokin. I think I prefer the eGo-V MEGA for the price when it comes to a pen battery. I like them both pen batteries and APV's.

The SVD is just my personal favorite. Any good APV MOD is the whoop. I am more so referring to mj vaporizers meant for concentrates. They are junk as far as I am concerned. I have tried many of them. They seem to half burn and half vape. With a SVD or the eGo battery you showed, you can have the best of both worlds.

Fore example, Essential mj parts fit onto a SVD and you can adjust the temps perfect where you cannot with the Essential batteries. It is just a 510 battery. As for the other companies that are using different threads, let's pick on a big guy, how about Persei. Let's go with one of their quality KISS attachments from UP Tech. I can actually adjust the heat precisely where I want it with my SVD. True variable voltage and wattage. In other words, I can operate their own products much better than with their equipment with a device that can operate many other accessories. With a Persei, you really cannot at least not compared to the SVD. I tried the KISS on my SVD. I didn't really care for it. It does seem like a high quality accessory, but it just does not compare to e-cannabis in an iClear 30 rig. the KISS will even work on an eGo C Twist VV battery. All you need is a 510 to 601 adapter and you are good to go!

KISS-UPTechoneGobatt2-3-142003.jpg

KISSCartbyUPTechonSVD2-3-142007.jpg

The SVD on the left is much better than the SVD on the right. The one on the right I ordered for less than $50 and it did not come with accessories. I did not order it from a reputable supplier. Lower quality imitation/fake, not really sure. What made me realize this was having to turn the power down very low to operate the KISS cart. Otherwise I would not have known that there was such a big difference. I have 2 of each. The SVD that comes in the full kit from HDV, with 2 iClear 30 tanks are far better than the bargain mod only.

the iClear 30 top fed, with just regular good clean oil (PG USP mix), every time I refill it. They will last for 2 fills, but since I can get the heating elements for as little as $1.20 each, I figure I am best off replacing it every time so the oil tastes its best.

The iClear 30b, bottom fed, I don't know yet. I have been replacing the heating coil only because I have been doing oil comparisons and want to be able to compare each oil without cross contamination from the previous oil. I will find out soon though. Here is what I do know. I vaped a little over 4 grams (2 fills) before I changed oils and it was absolutely flawless. It was as if the coil had never been used. I will reuse the coils that I set aside for the comparisons to see how long they will last. Out of the 4 grams of e-cannabis, it is at least 2 grams of pure oil. The heating elements only cost about $3.00 each. I am pretty confident I could have ran about 4 grams through it if not more.

For e-cigarette equipment used with concentrates mixed with PG USP, the best unit, most flawless, I have not had one fail yet, is the iClear 30b. For how much oil I ran through my first test run, 4 grams, it would not have bothered me one bit if I had to replace the coil. It seemed as good as brand new before I changed the coil for the comparisons. Also, the iClear 30b, in my opinion, exceeds vaporizing and goes to the next level, gaseous, as long as the oil is high quality, top notch, winterized.

Everything I know about e-cannabis vaporizing can be found here. I don't know if I am allowed to leave a link, so I will not. However, the full name of my blog is: My Experience With Portable Vaporizers (Pen Vaporizers) For Concentrated Cannabis Oil and E-Cigarette Oil

I'm using an MVP 2.0 with a Kanger AeroTank for my eliquid/ejmix use and I am pretty happy but I can see myself moving up to a DNA box mod and an RDA soon. I like the juice a little on the thick side and while it works in a clearomizer it is very easy to burn up a coil and wick if I'm not careful. I feel like this liquid would work a bit better in an RDA with micro coils.

For the iClear 30 I can get the coils for as little as $1.29 ea. I can't say that I have burned one up yet with e-cannabis oil. One or two fills I just replace it. I could probably heat it up and burn off the crap and reuse it, but I don't want to contaminate my fresh oil so I just replace the coils every fill.

As for the iClear 30b, I haven't fried a coil yet. I have gone two fills so far with no problems. 5 grams of e-cannabis per fill and still works great. I will have to keep vaping more oil through it to see how long it will last. Kind of difficult since I keep going back and forth testing other products. One can only consume so much oil alone!

I have a Kangar ProTank 3 dual coil that I tried. It leaks more than any unit I have tested so far. It does work well though. The glass and the thin metal it is constructed of causes much harshness (throat burn). I try to stay away from glass when it comes to e-cannabis. It offers great taste, but gives bad throat burns. I prefer plastic or metal. That is why I like the iClear 30 and 30b so much. The thick metal takes away the throat burn.

Mixture, that is easy. On average 50/50 PG USP/Concentrate. The concentrate can be decarbed or non-decarbed. Personal preference to how thick the oil is, what type of rig you are using. Just make sure you have extra concentrate and PG USP available so you can adjust the thickness. Adjusting it is the same as making it. Put the concentrate into a small metal or glass cup. Gently warm until the concentrate begins to melt. I like to use a simple coffee mug warmer. Add the PG USP, mix well. Remove from heat to not allow the PG USP to evaporate. Put back onto and remove from heat while mixing to be sure it is infused well.

Only use PG USP medical/food grade nothing else. No VG added, no nicotine, no flavors. I would not purchase it from a hardware store, but from an e-cigg shop, like High Desert Vapes for instance.

You can also use a 510-601 adapter and use Omicron and Persei attachments on your mod. I have been trying out the KISS cart, and it works well with straight oil. I don't prefer that method, but it was worth the try.

I think the SVD is the all around best, but you are right. A mechanical vape has been quickly becoming my favorite! I just tried out a Smoktech Magneto, with an Omicron/Persei KISS cart. I am very impressed. I can't imagine a better mod for operating attachments such as the KISS. I can operate my innokin iClear 30 with the mechanical, but I have to use at least the AW 18650 2600mAh protected battery to deliver enough power to run it. I like the mechanical vape so much, I am willing to go out of my way to start building my own coils to accommodate the vape. It is a lot like the SVD in a way. It is kind of like a mechanical version of it. It telescopes to accept 18350 to 18650 batteries.

In this thread I have posted pictures of all three of my favorite vapes. SVD, eGo C Twist VV, and now the mechanical Smoktech Magneto.

But really be sure to go in depth on what coil builds work best for you. i currently am having the most success with short SS mesh wick and 1-1.5 ohm coil using wax concentrates.

going to rebuild a dual or quad today on a helios atomizer.

Look out though, I just shifted into overdrive!!

I have multiple size mesh, different gauge wire, and wicking on the way!

Can't wait to get started. I am going to start right off with a dual coil tank unit. Kind of like the kraken. I will probably get that next.

There are just so many cool units out there. I just don't have the time to watch 100's of hours of videos!

I will plow through it though.

Even looking into some customized accents for my vapes, like a custom beauty ring for my SVD. Pure silver, maybe some little diamond studs, engraving, accented with gold, etc. There is no going back now!
