Vapor Bat(VRIP TECH)

To reopen this yet provide no new information, I'll just tell my story. I have a Vapor Bat that I was given to as a present. I even have the exact Subaru cigarette lighter part that they recommend, and I drive a Subaru. Unfortunately I have a 2006, and the thing won't even work in my car. It seems that the newer model not only doesn't come with a cigarette lighter but will not accommodate one at all. That's my story. I'll report back in when I actually get a chance to try it out.

Dude, go to meritline.com and type in something like "cigarette adapter," they make their living selling ridiculously cheap shit from Asian and when it comes to cables, phone chargers, converters and the like, they're hard to beat. All shipping is 100% free. I buy crap from them all the time. No road vaping but you can still use it at home.

It's funny because I was just thinking about the vaporbat because I bought the VapoRX on Etsy which is vaguely similar. I'd buy one at 12 - 15 in a minute, but 20 and shipping it tough.

It wouldn't make any sense to use the portable vape at home. That would defeat the whole purpose of it being portable, wouldn't it? :p

I just got a vapor bat. It's not exactly what I was looking for. The guy at the head shop didn't tell me it was meant to be used with a car cig. lighter.. oh well! should've researched which is why I'm on here. I've improvised a way to use it though, by heating the tip of a knife over the oven burner until it's red hot. It then functions pretty much the same as a car cig. lighter would. Heating a kniefe wouldn't always be convenient, and a portable vaporizer being the objective, I'll probably end up buying another item. I see the vapor bat's potential though. I look forward to giving it a go in a car... PS in an extreme situation, a blow torch could be used to heat a knife if a car cig. lighter isn't available. Anyone who's used hot knives to smoke hash would be familiar with this technique, but that's only when you just gotta get right and combustion simply will not do!!!

Anyone that has the vapor bat (or vaporbong) think they could work with the jigger lighter? http://jiggerlight.com Jigger lighter is like a car type lighter but portable. The things I would think could be a problem would be the size of the jigger opening and the temp it gets to.

It's suitable to light a ciggarete and not Cigar.

Standard cigarette is about 7.5mm.

Concerning the diameter of the side of the Vapor Bat that is heated: It looks like it is just shy of an inch by 1/16

Dat won't fit. It just won't fit. :)

All you have to use is a cig. lighter from your car. seems like a sold unit since vrip tech sells it ;)

anyone here own one? I have seen them in a couple of head-shops around town before....a tip at the top of the vapor bat's how-to page

hmmm how enticing

HOT TIP! Go to a Subaru Dealership and buy a car lighter for a Subaru Impreza part# 86701TA01 for about $6. It features a ceramic element core that keeps the element hotter longer and it has a casing with small holes above the element to improve the heat to air exchange. Fits in most car lighter receptacles.

:peace:

The part number given is no good. My local Subaru parts guy ordered a # 86701TA010 for us to take a look at but that is a lighter for a 1998 model Subaru.

He could find nothing for SMs 2004 Subaru but said he would keep looking.

I was going to order a Vapor Bat for $20 but they want $14 for UPS ground shipping! arghh

I ended up buying from https://www.vaporstore.com/

10% FC discount and free shipping over $50 :)

Now to find that high test Subaru lighter!

I really think any autocigg lighter would work if its bigger then the bat. I didn't know they still sold these things. I wasted money on one a few years ago.

That was not helpful. :) SM said it worked pretty well. It was a waste of money because?

It got very hot and I could only do two or three hits before it burned my lips and fingers and was to hot to set down in the car it melted a notch in the cup holder.

This is a very old thread and there were slim pickings when it came to portable vapes in late 2008-early 2009. This can vape your herbs but there are much better choices out now. Check out the portable section now, in jan 2009 there were only a handful of threads. Things have progressed very fast and far in the vaporizer world.

You do realize that auto parts guys have amazing machines called computers that can cross reference things WAY BACK to 2009 and beyond? :)

The real question is why didn't they use their amazing machine to search for the the part you wanted by name, and then pull the # instead of blindly ordering off of 5 year old information?

SIR, I talked to a Subaru parts person, and provided him with all relevant information from this post. The bad part number (and the date posted), SM reference to his vehicle, the description that mentioned ceramic and vent holes , etc.

Thank you for your superior intelligence

@voxdei yeah guess it doesn't hurt to have different choices. I really don't have or need a vape that works with a car lighter now, but I could see one being the best tool in the pouch when the right situation arises.

Let us know how it works out for you.
