My favorite way is with my straight tube. Same coolness as the stem, better flavour and i can see the vapour.

Second best, alu stem. There is something in the weight of the stem that makes it more confortable than the hook.

Don't you feel like loosing some potency with the tube? You know, resin on the walls?

I'm sure it happens but it is not noticeable to me, i'm using it dry most times to maximize taste.

I got the J hook from Thick Quality Glass, unfortunately was cracked around the 18mm joint, which I did a temp fix of wrapping it in clear tape to help hold it while I wait for the replacement. I must say TQG was quick to respond and ship out another, no problems. I simply emailed them with photos as soon as I noticed it.
On to the good stuff... I added water to the J hook and it functions well as a natural perc. :D

I LOVE THE LOTUS!!

The problem is many people get defensive in this thread when you say the Lotus can't compete with some of these other Vapes. Well, guess what? It can't.

It cannot hit as hard as the LSV, Cloud or many other powered desktop vapes. I have the Lotus Tek down to a science and it just can't do it.

The Vap 2 tastes noticeably better than the Lotus. This is not a knock on the Lotus as the Vap 2 tastes better than any vape I have tasted.

The Lotus cannot match the simplicity of a Log Vape. A log vape is always on, load a bowl and hit it, put it in a bong and instant water filtration. Simplicity at it's finest.

I love it and it will always have a place on my shelf. But to ignore it's limitations makes no sense to me?
I hit on my log vap all day while working on some projects.

The LOTUS is great but not my driver!

My favorite way to use the Lotus depends on if I want a huge rip out of my recycler it helps smooth out the hit. But if I am going flavor and/or maintenance

this pipe with a bit of silicone tubing over the wpa (with a bit over half inch hanging past tip of wpa, then that tip flipped inside out creating a plug for the bowl) is sooooo tasty I almost go cross eyed!!

So my screen is getting a little clogged. Whats the best/easiest way to clean? I would like to avoid taking anything apart of possible.

OK, I think I just solved a problem that someone brought up a while back in this thread. The problem was finding something to cap the aluminum stem or wpa with so you can preload it and stick it in your pocket without worrying about plant material getting everywhere. The answer: The cap of the honest torch that you probably got with the lotus. It works well, although you'll need an extra cap if you want to cover your torch at the same time. (probably recommended)

That's brilliant! Good to know the cap can be better utilized in case the chain breaks.

I decided that the soft case from MT is not enough. I made some body armor for my Lotus.

Taped the top of the bubble wrap (tape on tape = sticky), then taped the rubber band. Works pretty well and it takes a bit of force to make it slip off.

Also, just noticed we're over 100 pages. Nice. You guys rule with sick glass, mods, and neato tricks and videos. I'm sure the next 100 will be awesome as well!

What kind of torch are you using at home? I'm contemplating pulling the trigger on a lotus, the smaller lighters look a bit tedious for home use.

Also, is the scooper worth splurging for?

Creme brule/Pocket welder torches will have bigger fuel tanks. Watch out for that power though!

Is the scoop from MT worth it? I say heck yes because

--I just don't like it when trichs stick to my fingers.

You could use your bowl as a scoop too. I also use the scoop for kief since I don't have utensils for that.

Lol, so do the cards by a better judge of mass/density needed to fill a bowl your eyes and brain, just stop tapping, best part is they are free!!

This is the jet flame torch lighter i've been using at home with the Lotus:
sku_152172_1.jpg

It looked cheap to me, was not a fan of the color, and dreaded that it would take forever to arrive from deal extreme. But I ordered anyways since it has a larger tank, 90 deg nozzle, 4 inch height, easy flame adjustment, transparent body/butane level visibility, and cheap. This one has been working well for me for over a month now, just needs to be burped from time to time.

Skipped the Lotus scoop because I use these mini measuring spoons.

Scoops are good because the WPA gets really fucking hot.

So, hash has been very successful in my Lotus. Anyone tried wax/other concentrates? I figured I could just stack some screens up, or cut up a volcano oil pad and stick it in, to prevent the concentrate from melting through the screen.

And I was thinking about trying the organic cotton method for oil. I'd love to hear opinions, and I'll most certainly get back to you guys!

Really? I can hit five + consecutive bowls basically holding the wpa into a Sherlock it gets warm IMO. I always think its funny when servers at restaurants dramatically tell me the plate is really warm when they aren't using gloves or pot holders. I'm not arguing that scoops aren't good, heck that's what my cards are turned into basically, I just don't see how spoons or shovels are better than a scoopula or cards/zigzags style.

I think they meant that the actual metal part is hot. I can't get past 5 consecutive hits without fear of burning myself on the metal, but holding the glass immediately adjacent to the hot WPA is no problem for me.
