Discontinued Purple-Days Vaporizer

Well... I'm probably still an asshole. :horse:

I do miss this thread. I lurked the shit out of it. If it wasn't for @lwien and his posts here and on GC when I started my vaporization journey, I never would of considered a log. Now I couldn't imagine not having one.

One thing I will say for the PD, I feel it forced a higher standard in logs, at least, if not the industry as a whole.

Lies? Not lies at all. Why? Well, since you asked....
:uhoh:

Thanks for the detailed update regarding Tom and Pammy. They both have treated me so nicely over the years. I sort of marginally faded from both FC and keeping in contact through email with them at the same time after I lost my job 2 years ago and refocused on building a new income stream. So I had no idea about all of this - Pammy's issues with her eyes and their intent on moving back to Oregon.

Lwien, Tom does know about the original PD with the lamp - he actually reconstructed it for me a few years ago.
I remember Tom frowning on the concept that his PDs were "works of art" despite how beautiful and simple they are.

Hope things turned around for ya jeff.

I'd really like to see him come back here just for old times sake, but I think that bridge was nuked on a couple of different fronts.

It's getting there, lwien, thanks. I tend to operate from the principle that the harder you work the luckier you get. It seems to work that way and in about a year or so I'll have developed means for (hopefully) perpetual passive income - with enough extra to buy used bongs from FC classifieds.

Of course many of us miss Tom and Pammy's presence here; unfortunately I agree with you about "different fronts."

Fuck, I didn't even get a chance to turn it down. lol

I just got a Valentines card from Pammy. Opened it up and a bunch of red confetti hearts fell out. The note read, "Hi Larry (then the card stuff, then)......

Hugs, Pammy and Tom

PS. Tom hasn't forgetten about you. It's coming !!"

So I got a brand new PD on the way..........

Fucking Tom..............lol.

If by any chance you guys (Tom and Pammy) are reading this, for one...........Tom, if I ever see you in person, I'm gonna poke you in the eye for not allowing me to refuse your kindness and two..........Pammy, my thoughts and prayers are with you.........always.

PS: Sig edited....

Me too, mine still gets used every so often, but mostly just looks pretty on the shelf and reminds me of the great times I had with it. It has helped me medicate in many countries too as I often took it with me on my travels.

Thanks Tom and Pammy for a great product.

I still have my piece of lucky Jade on my bookshelf :D :luv:

Tom just whipped me up a brand new PD made out of Figured Maple. She's a beauty. When the sun hits it, it looks holographic.

The "shine"...... Chatoyance
This is my favorite aspect of wood... and with a good eye one can see it in many woods.. but it is more obvious in some.
Chatoyance meaning "cat's-eye-ness"
The beautiful three dimensional experience one can get from a good cut!
Beautiful piece, lwien!

I still have mine, which I use every now and then. Tom had a good head on his shoulders, and a knack for entrepreneurial-ism. When someone copied his design, he just developed DIY PDs. Brilliant!!!

i just got done cleaning my third tuber and i had it wrapped in a paper towel for drying and i think the mrs threw it away. so that gave me opportunity to get my kit out and make a new tuber with screen. loaded three tubers and getting ready to ride the wave. tom if you're lurking still enjoying your product down here in tucson!

My Myrtle PD is the only vape that gets to be in public view! The wife likes to use it as a oil diffuser to make the house smell yummy. The PD is what really got my hooked on vaping. It started me down the path toward freedom from combustion.

Mee too........

Actually, it was the VG, but I gotta give the credit to the PD. The VG was like a diversion but the PD had me runnin' down the feeway.

I guess the same is true for me actually. The VG ws my original vape and I should give it credit as well. It showed me the awesomeness the vaporizing could be. I gotta admit, I'm jealous of the gift you received. That thing is beautiful. Same wood as my HI.

They coming back? I would REALLY love a new one, mine is getting pretty loose and blown out. :( I would even be willing to pay for just the wood part and put it together myself.

I believe @underdog may still be offering repair services for the other logs.

Nope. They're not coming back.
Figured, oh well... Mines pretty much on its last leg (or retaining ring). I wish someone would at least make some wood blanks for rebuilds. Didn't they end up outsourcing the wood part towards the end?? If so can you ask then if they can say who from, maybe I can order the wood part from them. I did try emailing Pammy not after they went down, that's when mine started to get loose.

As stated above, contact Dave with Underdog. He recently mentioned being willing to rebuild them.

I wasn't trying to be a smartass. I hope you didn't take it that way. I also hope you are able to rebuild it. I love my log vapes.

Not at all, I meant that thanks. :)
I love mine too, I need to read up on the newer style ones. I really love my PD so hard to just buy another. I want to fix this, then get another. ;)
