Discontinued Indica Vaporizer

I was able to grab an Indica from a fellow FC'er hoping it would rival the performance of my Pax.
It does! The design is quite similar as far as the oven and airpath. I did not use a screen in the oven, just
packed it and dropped the spacer in. Indica heats up within a min and a half. Draw is less restrictive than the Pax, and the vapor is thick. Seems to keep a better flavor through the whole session. I am quite impressed!
The Indica is a classy little machine. Thanks to all those who contributed early reviews. I am sure the store will be open soon to process the first round of Indicas.

Battery specifications from the manufacturer claim less than 300 recharges. They are quality batteries so it is possible to reach that number, but to be conservative, I would guess 150 to 250 as a wide safe range. CentiZen might best answer this question though, as he knows this field much better than most.

Currently, the batteries, two of them, are not replaceable by the user, but later models are likely to offer this option. It’s in design mode so please do not hold me to it at this time, but a strong possibility.

With the warrantee now one year, The Indica battery life should match up. Hope this helped.

Would you recommend that buyers warranty their unit at 11 months. My only concern with non-replaceable batteries is... What happens after 250+ cycles in year two of ownership? Can you please elaborate if you intend to offer a battery replacement program.

Also could you specify warranty eligibility in the following example: Brand new the Indica on RED(highest) temp setting gets 6 cycles on a 3hr charge. In 7 months we only get 4 cycles out of the same 3hr charge. Would that be covered under warranty, or considered normal usage?

The Warrantee will be recorded, and matched up with the purchaser and the unit’s serial # when it is first received. We’ll provide an online process to quickly give the consumer initial registration /support which will directly tie to the serial # of each unit to establish a historical database.

The Indica is intended to preform over 6 cycles on RED through it’s entire Warrantee period. Performance less than this, constitutes eligibility for replacement.

If an Individual is Vaping over (6) ten minute sessions a day, for over 250 consecutive days, recharging after battery depletion, we’ll need to evaluate if this truly constitutes normal every day usage. A very good Question.

Soooooo sooooo jealous!!! I want one more now but alas none are to be had. By the time the store is open the money I put to the side for this will be gone because a water heater will break or my car will die. That's just my dumb luck :(

my 2p.

There are people who will vape 6+ sessions a day, factor them in. Also be prepared for the battery to die as this will make the difference between a short term and long term success for the product (pinnacle pro is in this position now i believe). Also given the option of an extended warranty or just paying more for the product I'd choose the latter.

Only my thoughts so take them however you like. Hopefully they'll be of some use.

Can't wait for the floods of reviews and (hopefully) satisfied customers. All the best

So now I'm curious about the battery issue. It has a limited lifespan and depending on use will die in a few years. It is not user replaceable. At that point do you have a service option @Indica Vaporizer or do I toss the unit?

Toss more likely otherwise send in for battery replacement? There's a lot of portables with non-user serviceable batteries. Some you can do it yourself f you know what you're doing (Solo) and others can be done but at risk (Pinnacle/Pinnacle Pro supposedly wipe heat sensor calibrations when the battery is disconnected). I'm curios to see what they mean by "not replaceable". Is it welded on? Obviously warranty would be voided.

Someone with moderate electronics knowledge could replace the battery, but it requires soldering and voiding the warranty. I'm pretty sure there will be a replacement option.

After watching CetiZen’s instructional video related to the Solo, it became apparent that the Indica will need to offer a similar fix in the future. Though the first units out in the market place will need to be serviced by our company for battery replacement, Units produced after April/May are planned to have the availability for “do it yourself” replacement, with out weld or solder. Batteries for the Indica will be available on our site at a later date.

Sorry, I meant soldered on. Welded... lol. Anyways, looks like good news. User-replaceable would be welcomed, even if it voids the warranty (which wouldn't matter if it were out of warranty and just had a dying battery). Thanks for the info.

@Indica Vaporizer whats the official capacity at? I micro grinded last night to determine whether over-packing the unit would inhibit airflow. At .4 grams + a spacer the Indica performed well without air flow loss. I went through a full red cycle and then some since the heat up time did take a little longer.

Before anyone asks why. If I am out for the day I'd much rather pack to capacity than have to reload twice.

Also I hated the audio level and re-uploaded that vid here, made clear how I achieved .4 and that I think .2 max is ideal.

I think you have discovered the new frontier. We’ve never micro ground, so our max had been .30g. We have stated .26g based on standard grinders and moderate to loose packing. I’m happy to hear your results.

Thanks @mmenzie I'm really hoping this thing is going to be as cool as it looks, I'm already on my 4th ascent and need something reliable *plus* I'm addicted to new vapes!

i hear you.... my Ascent is still going strong and has not been replaced since my first one which was initial production run with all the issues, however i do not use it as much as some people so the issues may still come up. now back to the Indica...

i am really excited to own this soon as it got good marks from the reviewers and good words from uncle @Vitolo who has never steered me wrong. i am most excited because i really feel this will finally fill the niche i needed to fill. the look of a "zippo" will fit in perfectly in my ""motorcycle" world and not catch many strange looks other than curiosity and may fit in this pouch on my bike that so far nothing fits in. Riding season will be here before i know it (just need for all this damn snow to melt) and i hope i will have one in my hands before my trip up to Cape Cod i have coming up.

@Indica Vaporizer good vibes coming your way that you will be able to sell your new vape to all the excited people waiting like myself and others here at FC

My Indica is on its way back to the manufacturer. It will only hold a charge for 2 sessions at most. It works quite well otherwise, hope this can be resolved.....

@mephisto. When were they released? I've been checking this forum, my email (I added my name to list for first batch), the indica website, indica store and indica FB and Twitter pages several times a day for the past 3-4 weeks and haven't noticed the store live (except for the initial day of Feb 3rd). Nevermind, can see your post above :).

@Indica Vaporizer. Are you able to please provide an update? Reason being is I need a portable in time for March 29th, and if I have to buy one from the US (which will be the case as it is either this or a PAX I will buy), I really need to be doing it within the next week or so otherwise I can't guarantee myself delivery for the 29th.
