Underdog Log Vapes

I just got a dog yesterday but know I'll be using it for a while. Would you guys recommend buying a VVPS now for the long run? Is it one of those things were every log user at some point buys?

I've been a UD guy for over a year and I've never had desire to get a VVPS. Honestly, it depends on your needs. From what I gather from your previous posts though, you just need to work on technique. Log vapes have a bit of a learning curve as far as stem loading and draw technique. The best advice I can give is to try everything you can think of. Load the stem as much and as little, pack it as tight and as loose as possible, draw quickly and slowly. Basically, everyone is different and there's no "wrong" way to use a UD. You just need to find what works for you and that only comes with experience through trial-and-error. I've combusted using a Dog and I've left a stem green. It just takes a bit of practice to get where you want to be. Keep vaping and I'm sure you'll be more than happy with the results.

Also, don't be shy to give those silicone stems a try. I've been using the silicone tube + screen and its always been great.

Hurry back, my pup

This haiku has been brought to you by my foolishness. Don't poke things through your UD screens boys and girls.

Thanks @underdog for taking care of even the most childish of us.

1st pick is the plug that blows out. 2nd is the plug crumbled. I've quit saving abv since using the pup.

My new-to-me UD is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, I'm so stoked to see what it can do. Supposedly it has the new, or newish heater core. Now here come the questions . Which stem is best for dense vapor or a fast extraction on a tube? Im a little confused as I read that the gong gives an airy hit compared to the nylon stem, I assumed it would be the other way around. Are wong's still offered/compatible? How does the nylon stem perform on a bong?

I'm mainly interested in getting a quick extraction with fast draws when paired with a water path, not really trying to milk my tube per say.

No time to get to know my new vape this week

Thanks

As Underdogette announced, new Dogs are up on the site.. enjoy.

Alright off to shovel up the sawdust-mud that's covering the shop floor after our minor flooding.. good times. Might delay custom pieces a day or two but nothing significant so no worries.

@ z9 - Hope you enjoy the new Pup, welcome to the family. :)

That's a really subjective question. Personally, 3.5g (give or take) a week of HQ.

How much weed do you guys go through a week now when using the underdog? Just curious..

I don't live in a medical state, so I don't really have access to quality strains, and I tend to go through quite a bit of mid-grade each week. Since I switched to using the underdog though it cut my consumption almost in half. Before the underdog, a half oz would really only last me 2-3 days, with the underdog it easily last me a week or more. Having had to switch back to smoking this week while my pup is in for repairs, I can tell a dramatic difference in the amount I consume. I can only hope that for my wallet's sake my underdog makes it back to me soon.

a question for people that use bubblers with their pups.
does using the bubbler increase the effects of the herbals?
i picked one up last week and since i've been using it, I'm getting knocked the f*ck out
after 2 loads. i mean, literally I'm frozen for a few minutes after each hit, then before i know it, I'm sleeping where I'm sitting… normal?

The water reducing irritation means you can take a larger-than-normal cloud of vapor. So in that respect, it's certainly a reasonable observation.

had my twig for a while now and it's used pretty much 90% of the time when at home. love using it with my water toys although I've used it with stems here and there for a quickie. Anyway, i now have a bunch of ways to input into the water pipes but in the beginning i would use a vapor bros whip adapter with a cut piece of stem and the screen would rest on top of the "whip" end of the glass adapter. It certainly worked but after a few pulls and ambitious stirring the screen would get wonky or it would tilt and the herb would get sucked though and make a mess inside the pipe. I got a few other options now but always wanted something 18m for more airflow with a stable screen. Well, after doing some modding with a lotus wpa gong, i decided to take a crack at an adapter for the UD.

took my 18m vapor bros whip adapter and cut off a bit of the "funnel' shaped end. just enough so i could still wedge in the tubing. checked it out, fit was pretty good, so i flame polished it with a torch, wedged the tubing back on and poked in a screen. Works perfectly now and the screen fits nicely and doesn't tilt or move around. Really great airflow and although it hasn't been used for "the herb", been using it with herbs. Lavender, damiana and tulsi over the weekend. It's been quite pleasant!

oh yeah, added an o-ring just to have something to grab onto when it's hot. Think it makes it look "finished" too. And in the second pict it's just condensation on the glass.

Here's some picts... Enjoy!

Hey guys hows it going?

Been plenty busy around the shop, working on a bunch of secret projects and, of course, seemingly endless Dogs for various refreshes. Not sure what's going on but we've been shipping lots and lots of Dogs to Google headquarters.. I'm guessing that one of the funnest places to work just got funner. :p

Was feeling a bit simultaneously burned out and bored this afternoon so decided to to make myself a new Dog out of some nice Oregon Myrtle that just came in. You guys like her? What should I name her?

@ bagelbanger - that's pretty ingenious dude, nicely done. I love seeing all the creative things people do with their Dogs.. keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!

Alright well I best get back to the Batcave Dog House, lots of things to get done before I'm done for the day. :peace:

Been doing a ton of research on a new vape, as my Solo recently kicked the bucket. I have ultimately decided on a UD, due to the glowing reviews around the interwebs. I'm planning on placing my order later this morning, but the problem is, I can't decide which one I want out of the available pieces. Asked my trusty wife to pick it out for me. Looking forward to trying this sucker out!
