The Herbalizer

Almost there...
So my PalmScale 8.0 arrived yesterday!
This is a great scale with great looks!
Check it out here:
http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/my-weigh-palmscale8-advance-800.html WRONG LINK!!!

On average i have discovered that my smallest load in Herbie is around 0,08 to 0,1g.
This gives me roughly 4 to 5 good clouds and depending on the strain is enough to medicate me effectively for a few hours!

I have a friend coming over later that is a heavy herb smoker, so it will be interesting to see how much we go through in a session!

EDIT: CORRECT LINK TO SCALE!

I find myself using as little as .03g up to about .1g per bowl. If I load .1g, I'm not going to finish it in one sitting. I packed .1g of Crystal Ship (one of my favorite strains) last night, took two rips at 420, and I was good for 2 hours. If I really want to sesh without getting super messed up, I have to lower the temp significantly. Herbie is potent.

@weedemon I haven't told the team about my issue yet, as it hasn't happened frequently enough to prompt me to do so. Maybe I'll shoot them an e-mail this weekend and see what they think. But again, I'm not too concerned at the moment. My unit has performed quite admirably otherwise.

That scale only has an accuracy of .1g so how are you getting .08g readings?

I use a Tanita 1479J2. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an accurate, durable scale at an affordable price (affordable for the quality that is).

I find my average load to be ~.2-.25g flower with ~.05g hash mixed in. Let's just say Herbie is really causing problems for my tolerance... and consequently my wallet ;)

Good catch.. Just a quick recommendation to folks that you can get a really good .01 scale for under $15. No need to pay over $20. For our needs, the cheaper ones work great. Check out the "American Weigh" brand if you use Amazon.

Herbalizer cleaning tip.

I've noticed that only the top screen gets dirty on my Herbalizer. I was iso soaking mine to get it clean.
The last few times my screen needed cleaning I just swapped the top and bottom screen location. Putting the top dirty screen on bottom burns it clean with normal use. Much easier and no downtime.

It keeps telling me to try some holy basil for relaxation or something like that.
I have some organic loose stuff, I'm gonna go try that now.
Post to be edited shortly!

edit: I can't find the proper temperature,
but I seem to recall herbie's message maybe suggesting one?
Gonna go flip my lid a few times...

Okay found the message, just added for CLARITY, no temp advice.

Using organic india loose organic pure tulsi tea:
I vaped a couple of bowls. First one started at 375°f, got taste (very much like the tea) but no vapor. Bumped up to 400, then 425 same story, wispy vapor at max so I loaded another at max, still wispy. I feel mild effects, more relaxing than clarity but I'm typing aren't I... ;)

Unfortunately, vaping tulsi doesn't appear to completely extract all the active ingredients.
And my research has encouraged me to try some milk/cream in my tulsi tea,
because some of these active ingredients appear to be fat-soluble.
I posted these research results in the appropriate thread.

So Ive had my Herbie since Monday. I must say I am very impressed with the way the unit has performed. My favorite part about the unit is how fast it heats up and how great the extraction is. I feel like I will end up saving myself money over the long run from conservation. Its really cool how you can start off at 360 and get decent vapor by taking a few hits every 5 degrees.

I do find myself using the bags more then the whip. Reason for this is I feel I'm wasting vapor when I use the whip. Since the unit uses the fan to keep the temp up, I will see small amounts of vapor pour out of the whip in between hits. I suppose I could take the bowl off between every hit, but it seems like it shouldn't be necessary. Pretty much splitting hairs here though.

I am satisfied with my purchase and feel no buyers remorse. For costing $725, time will tell if its worth the money. If the unit lasts me for years to come I would say it is. This unit does scream quality from the design, to the construction, and its low key appearance. Its nice I can let this sit on a desktop without it being obvious what its used for.

Fellow Herbie users... This is a great tip! Thanks @Darb !

I just took a totally gummed up top screen and removed it and placed it on bottom. There was a thin ring of honey oil in the cap where the top screen was. I left the top cap screenless. I then proceeded to put a bag on and ran a cycle at 445. Not only did I get a bag of pretty thick vapor. I removed the bottom screen afterwards and brushed it and to my surprise, it was totally clean and like new.

This makes maintenance almost zero for the bowl as it all self cleans. It just gets better and better...

Having a Herbie, I almost feel like I'm exploring the depths of vapor outer space. Herbie being my high tech Flying Saucer!

Giving my place a thorough cleaning for Herbie's arrival on Wednesday. Trying to make a good impression for our first date. I can finally see the surface of my dining room table which hasn't seen much dining lately. Busy transforming it into the Herbalization Station.

I find it odd that since Herbie arrived my vaping area has been kept extremely clean!!
Usually it is all cluttered up and a mess..

Although i do spend a lot more time cleaning glass and adapters than i do cleaning Herbie!

I've never been down under, but my Dad told me the Aussies are the most wonderful people. Of course, Canada also rocks...hence the old American saying:" This shit sucks. I'm moving to Canada!" Traditionally said after a Republican is elected President.

Only ever-so-slightly off topic, but not really considering the Herbie was designed to open a whole world of other plants to us:

266°F or 130 °C

That low? Hmm, why would Herbie suggest Chamomile if it can't reach the proper temperature? I read 374 elsewhere, but who knows. Herbalizer should publish a herbs and essential oils guide. :)
