Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

After less than a year of getting my cloud it randomly stopped heating up and blinks red. I took very good care of it. Vapexhale couldn't fix it at that time because they didn't have the parts and were trying to get up and going again. So after months of waiting I was wondering if anyone on here could explain why I have to pay $250 to exchange it for the new evo...??

That's some serious action up there. AAA set ups! You guys continue to impress.

DaVinci oil can testing (glass is filthy sorry):
Had to do a quick clean of the DV can, sloppy.
A small dollop of kkush wax, silicone lid on top, used Hydra Tube on top method.
kem1.jpg

Draw seemed more restricted, chuggy/bubbles than normal.
That's a pretty fat dollop, but I think it mostly melted in the can because the airflow restriction is pretty narrow in that can top and there wasn't much cloud action.

to do: try again without silicone top + fresh concentrate.
deviation_1: towards the end I noticed the Evo dial was not quite at max. Probably got bumped, but the test was 5 draws quick. No impact.

I used about the same amount of a diff. conc. in loose cotton and it was very cloudy. No chug, even w/ HT-bubber combo.

checking back in after several weeks of utterly consistent excellent performance on the part of my refurbished EVO. this thing is just such a pleasure to use. it's so simple and powerful. just drop in an ELB and go to town on whatever glass you have. my ELB's never get snagged on any glass that I've mated it with, due to the design of the glass joint, so even most noobs can use it effectively without too much coaching. at 3:00 this thing provides such profoundly medicating extraction that I have at least temporarily lost interest in concentrates. I find myself using it at night or on weekends mostly, due to the fact that I seem to lack the self control to maintain a professional mentality when clouded... Not that the EVO doesn't perform brilliantly at low temps... I love to use the dry VXL mouthpiece for the most pure low temp flavor and effects... I just seem to lack discipline so I turn up the heat and blow massive clouds. something about having power makes you want to use it. So I tend to stick to the solo during the day when I have work to do.

I tried to do a scientific comparison tonight between using the EVO with the early bird straight tube swagger single turbine HT and using it with the Mobius Ion Matrix. two fresh ELB's with the same strain. it was very close. the HT seemed to provide slightly better cooling with slightly less diffusion with better flow. not that the Mobius has any drag, but the much larger diameter of the mouthpiece on the HT makes it perform differently. I think the Mobius gave a smoother hit with flavor equal to the HT. however the HT provides a more "direct" experience, which I can't quantify but I do enjoy

Are the ELB's put together with glue?

Im curious how the micron mesh is attached to the solid SS rings on the elbs.

Is it glued? I ask bc I have some albs that are kind of falling apart at the seams and I see theres some sort of bonding material from the mesh ss to the sold ss.

If it is glued, is the glue or adhesive made to withstand extreme temps w/o offgasing toxic gasses?

thanks

Okay I'll ask... @stonemonkey55 do we have an ETA on when we can get out grubby hands on the new glasss?

New glass should be up in a week or two, we will update the forum when new glass goes up via our social media channels as well.

They are typically welded together. After lots of use, they can come undone.

Thanks, I could not tell how they were put together. Are they made in USA or overseas?

Hey @stonemonkey55, are there any other perc bases in the works beside the stemline and the gridded puck. At least it think it was a gridded puck. Thanks!

Speaking of new glass... I am loving the Swagger turbine that came with my IGG package. I am curious though about some of the tubes with ice pinches. I haven't seen any reviews on here from folks that have used the Evo with ice.
Can someone let me know how the experience is with ice? My wife has a sensitive throat and even vaping around 10 o'clock on the dial can still make her cough. I'm wondering if I got an HT that could hold some ice, if that would help?

Thanks!

It was referred to as a "torus" on IG! I missed the boat on the devastator way back when so I'm really excited to see all the new options!

Edit: I've used ice in my SSFG Hydraline. It does a great job at cooling the vapor which would probably be great for her needs, but it melts quickly and the water level needs to be constantly monitered.

I agree with @way2. The HydraLine has nice diffusion for moisturizing and the ice definitely helps. Depending on temp setting, draw style, session time, etc., the melting time varies considerably. But I easily get a session out of a few cubes, and the HL has a very good splash guard if used correctly, so it's no hassle. I also have an IGG Fanatic circ/turbine straight neck for ice; I can't compare it to the other Swaggers but nevertheless the added ice is definitely noticeable.

That just happened...

Try refrigerating your hydratube. It makes the vapor chilly cold.

Hola FC:
I've been testing an idea of a cheapo DIY dab system for my EVO and Cloud +
Fiddling around ideas of what I have handy at home... If you go to a glass blower or a welder with a project like this they probably don't have the time.
So... Hands on...
First I tried a wisp of cotton instead of SS as a wicking system for the oil to stay close to the heater and don't run down. This method is only for inverted use of the unit...
DISCLAIMER : TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK. I DONT SUPPORT THE USE OF YOUR UNIT LIKE THIS.

The cotton wisp at the first try combusted... Even cotton with a dab and the EVO taste good

Here's my solution for no cotton combustion... SS screen folded like an icecream cone kind of...

Insert in the capped ELB till making contact with cap...
