Mobius Glass

Frederick McGuire

Aggressively Loungey
There are a few comparisons posted a bit back in this thread, and I'm sure someone with a bit more experience can chime in on the stereo, but because its stemless, its got a bit of a chug until it moves the water into the main chamber at the start of the hit.

The diffusion also didn't feel as "purry" smooth if I recall correctly.
It was a bit more violent like the reti.

Here's a pic of my Mobius Collection,
Look at the mouthpiece of the ion (far right), the Clear Bubs (Middle 2), and a 60t (far left)
The ion mouthpiece is the smallest.

(Since taking that pic, I've sold the 60t and Reti Clear, then bought back the Reti )

Anyone care to chime in on the stereo matrix's splashback on the 60 vs 65? Was going to get the 60 since I figured it'd be a little better for dabs/clearing it (used to have a pentadisc and that had problems clearing completely, might've been due to the disc trapping smoke inside itself) so might as well save the $60 but after reading some comments in this thread/remembering that video where the bubbles stack next to the ruler, I'm not so sure.

Does the 60 work fine without creating splashback or should I go for the 65?

Didnt someone post up about them getting mouthfuls of water in their 60?

I bought a stereo matrix (60) for myself for xmas. Dont be worried about anything. The quality (at least on mine) is far better than anything i can get from most lhs' around here. When really using it the splashback is non-existant. A few times i have put in a bit too much cranberry extract and have had the bubbles run all the way up through the mouthpiece but thats with a dry slide anyway, never with flower or vape attached, and when i consciously trying to show the crazy stacking ability. You really have to try to do it. I have tried to hit it like the hulk and still never get splashback during a session.

Thanks guys, wow that ion mouthpiece is definitely smaller, that may take the ion out of the competition...Also my local shop has a 60 B just sitting on the shelf waiting to be loved but if I wait I might be waiting on another matrix for a while. Decisions decisions...

If you pull the trigger, pull up someplace online on your phone that has it in stock, and ask them to price match the online price… they usually do, and you'll save $60 or so.

I just went downstairs to spend some time with the mobius. While doing so i tried to focus on finding faults with the piece. The only thing i dont love is the mouthpiece on my stereo matrix. It seems too small like i think some have said. Its kinda awkward, like...do i put my lips around it? On it? Purse them? Kinda weird to explain but it is truely minor and the ONLY thing i think that could be improved.

I have an Ion and I hit it with my lips wrapped around the mouthpiece. Never gave it much thought, it just seemed like the better, more comfortable way to hit it. As many have said, the mouthpiece on the Ion is really small.

I have a 60b and I can get splashback if I try. When I first got it and was testing water levels, I filled it to the second row of holes in the matrix and pulled a huge mouthful of water and was like WTF this is an almost $500 piece. I quickly realized though the only way I can get splashback is if I really pull on it right away with no bubbles in the water already(higher surface tension). Basically you have to displace so much water that you can get a large bubble forming that pops when it hits the neck and runs up it into your mouth. I have found in practical use that I can't get splashback even if I try. All you have to do to avoid splashback is have some restriction or not pull too hard until that first bubble pops, once it starts rumbling,y can honk away as hard as you like without a drop of water reaching your mouth.

So I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 60B. This is a pretty great piece and you guys are right, it does hit quite a bit different than the regular matrix perc and I feel like I am getting more out of each dab than with my little Dave Goldstein bubbler. Thanks guys.

Nice! Welcome to the mobius club! You will thank yourself later

Yeah, they are great. I used to have a clear matrix and while i loved it, I would've preferred something with a smaller can, now I got the best of both worlds!! Now for some extensive testing...

just picked up the 60t stereo matrix, any tips on where to put the water level? still trying to figure it out

i originally filled it to just below the top of the second matrix and that worked fine for a day until i started getting reclaim. once there's reclaim in there the bubbles stop popping and it just stacks em all the way to the top out the mouthpiece (same thing would happen on my pentadisc)

right now the water's below the second matrix (still in top chamber) and it definitely works a lot better

Time to clean 'er out.... IMO! I find this problem with cranberry extract after just a few rips.... so I don't use it(cranberry extract) anymore, I also use Reverse Osmosis H2O(due to ease of availability) in my Stereo Matrix! The most important thing is to find what works best for you. I love my Mobius!
