Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

A many thanks to several FC members with their talents and ingenuity. Over the past month several minds have been busy with great ideas, focusing on making the Pnp an even better tool in vaping.

VaporBlunt takes pride in making great products and will stand behind them as well.

Has anyone else had issues with their pinnacle pro being stuck on. I have 4 blue lights that are on but its not heating up. The lights just stay on and its not turning off. Any suggestions?

Try and unplug it, then turn it off then on . If it continues after that, it would be time to contact VB or whoever you bought the unit from and get an RMA#. I don't know if you tried that already? When everything else fails, turn off then back on. Who knows if that will work or not.

While I am all for the GonG and think it's great that the forum helped, I am still shocked by the performance of the standard mouthpiece. I read reports about the flavored one melting and I guess thats why there wasn't one in my box to beginn with, but I can't recall anybody else reporting that the standard mouthpiece started to give off fumes (on Lvl1&2, remind you!). While I really enjoy using my PNP with the PonG, this fact has left a sour taste in my mouth. Am I doing something wrong or is it an accepted fact that the mouthpiece is fuming when used. Because this isn't acceptable at all.

I haven't heard of the mp giving off fumes. First thing I thought of when I read your first post ... did you do an initial burn-off on level 5 to burn off any residual manufacturing oils before your first session? There were some serious fumes coming off mine during the burn-off but I couldn't smell anything after the 2nd 8 minute cycle.

Yes I did, before I used it the first time. I did another one after the first bullet because the taste was just unbearable. The moment I switched to the PonG the taste/fumes were gone. I proceeded to give it a try with the standard cover sans mouthpiece, worked fine as well. The moment I added the mouthpiece it started to give off fumes again. I will give it another go tonight, but I don't really see why the outcome should be different.

Hey Pinnacle Pro, how did you use the DA stems with the PNP?
8vtsCXC.jpg

I opened up the Pong opening to 9.4mm
The stem bottoms out into the Pong's screen.
Tight fit and the stem provides an air tight seal with the Pong inner wall so no air can pass.

I leave the stem in the Pong so I still get an all glass path to my bubbler:

I used the clear pong and sanded it down so the glass stem would fit. The pong is wider about 1/5 inch or 1/4 inch is sanded down. I used only the Ascent glass piece without the screen. I didn't use both. I stuck the glass piece into the part that would be inserted into the WT. The glass is really too long, it's like 2 1/2 inches, it cools the vapor where I can stand it on level 3. I won't use my Pnp without it. Unless I use the WT.

If the mouthpiece smells or tastes weird, it's not usable. Try using some iso to clean, then rinse off. I used the mouthpiece in the beginning, but the pong just had a better feel. I noticed the mouthpiece especially with the tip would get clogged easily.

That was pretty much my conclusion. I did clean it with water for the same reasons I wash new clothes before I wear them. I did not want to use ISO right away because it is a brand new piece and I read about several people havin issues cleaning PNP parts with ISO.
I do share your preference for the PonG. It reminds me of a giant e-cig driptip and gives much better controll over the airflow.
Let me state again that I really like the PNP itself so far. While the taste can't (and also isn't meant to) compare to what I am used to from my DBV, it isn't as bad as several video reviews made it seem (actually, I think its possible those reviewers had the same mouthpiece issue I had). With the pong, I can go up to 3 without coughing. The vapor gets a bit harsh, but I can deal with it and it's still enjoyable.

So has it been confirmed that pinnacle is working on a removable battery for the pinnacle pro? Any official word?

How quickly everyone seems to accept @Engineering 's response to what is obviously a major issue; how fast this community praises the company for coming up with a fix to a problem that should never have existed.

Any company launching a product needs to understand a certain level of testing is required before going to market. The way I see it there were 2 possible scenarios:

1: Proper testing was not done (surely the PonG issue would have been quickly identified if it had)

2: Testing was done, the issue was identified, VaporBlunt didn't care & launched anyway.

Which was it @TherealVaporblunt ?

Look, I'm not being Mr Critical here, I am the first one to recognise quality and give credit where it's due, but I'm also fairly quick to recognise bullshit and this stinks of it. The mouthpiece is a problem, they still haven't accepted this and are still churning out dodgy units (at the risk of their customer's health), yet they are still somehow being seen as some kind of rockstars on this thread.

Take some responsibility VaporBlunt & Engineering, accept ownership of the issue & stop taking the piss out of your customers.
Admit you got it wrong, apologise to your customers and fix it. All you have done is shown a new accessory your customers invented, which you now want to sell to them to fix an issue you created.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit of a joke?

I'd stop whinging but this has got my goat, its peoples health we are talking about here.

Sending every customer a glass PonG wouldn't make good business sense, but it would at least show some integrity and would make some big steps to recovering any credibility you seem to be desperately clutching onto.

Pure vapor, have you read the thread?

They were incredibly open when it happened the first time and they stood behind their word that it was something not experienced in testing. They have also said that there is zero health risk and have pointed out many different pieces of evidence to prove so.

This company has done so many things right with this vape and really since they have been on this board. We are all intitled to a mistake or two, it's what we do to make up for it that shows our true character.

@HSIHP indeed I have, all 139 pages.

I absolutely agree, it's how you rectify the mistakes that count. I'm due to return my second PnP to my very understanding distributor in the next week or so and I've been emailing Vaporblunt since December. As I still await Vaporblunt's confirmation now half way into February as to what they are actually going to do about my mouthpiece, I feel I am qualified to point out bullshit where I see it, in the understanding this is the way they are rectifying it. (Selling their customers new gear, which replaces their old, faulty gear).

I'm normally very positive but I can't be mugged off, and neither should you.

We still stand by our original statement as to the safety and effective use of the plastic fittings, but realize that people want options.

I don't see the problem on their part here. They are providing an alternative, while standing by the plastic piece. They have not been able to replicate the problem with the new plastic, so I don't expect them to spend a ton of money to fix your issue, it could be a number of things besides an actual problem with the updated plastic material.

If you are truly having a problem with the latest edition of the plastic mouthpiece, I understand your frustration and share you concern. However, we have to remember that sometimes there will be issues when a new product is released. I don't like being a guinea pig either, but that is the risk you take anytime you buy a brand new product from a car, to a TV, to a vaporizer. The manufacturer can test all they want, but sometimes it takes until the product is in the hands of the masses for issues to arise.

If in the end it is found that even the new mouthpiece is melting during normal operating ranges, then I would agree it is vaporblunt's responsibility to provide glass units to their customers.

My pnp scrolls blue lights after the first 8-minute cycle. I am using the WT and it isn't plugged up while using, but it is fully charged. This is the same unit that was scrolling red lights and wouldn't function at all. I sent it back and the battery was replaced, and it was returned to me. After about a week of using it, I started getting this problem. I am planning on sending it back as the seller said he would replace the unit this time. The scrolling blue lights aren't normal, right? Thanks

If you are so unhappy I suggest you send your unit back. Maybe you can work something out with them and get a refund, since you haven't had your unit very long. You have had your unit less than a week. You had your concerns right after you first used it, let VB know. I suggest you try out a different portable vape and see if it fits your needs better.

At this point your issue is with VB. They stated what they were going to do.

If you've read through different threads on FC sometimes vapes take a while to get the bugs out. The beta testing doesn't always find all the problems.

Get a portable vape that's been in the market for a while, that's been tested over time. Don't buy a vape that's brand new to the marketplace if you are not willing to take the risk. I've stated this before.

You are presenting a false dilemma, since there are other alternative explanations. You qualify your choices with loaded unjustified assertions. Your sarcasm and general tone are disrespectful and close to breaking our Be Nice rule. Please think carefully before posting future responses.

I think its really great that we have gotten a response and a solution underway. I don't see them any differently than how I viewed them before. This is a product by a company, there needs to be profit. They probably have researched the materials to find the most cost effective yet still able to work with the unit, and now we see that there is an issue. I don't think that they as a company could justify a whole product revision if only one person reported the issue, it wouldn't make sense. We as a community brought this issue forward and pressed for an answer in a good way, and we have an answer now. We aren't going to stop pointing things out. There are still different concerns, but this one seems to be the most pressing since it deals with our health. If they follow through with this and it turns out to be a really great solution then its win-win. We get to stick with their product, and we have a more improved design for the mouth piece. If it still sucks than you know what is going to happen, other products will be considered. We have the choice, not them.

No one is getting tricked, no one is getting ripped off. Its just the way it goes. We aren't letting them off the hook, nor are we berating them and insulting them. We are trying to work with them to come up with a solution. It would be completely different if they blew us off completely or decided that they would not even look into the issue, but from past post history they seem to be at least semi concerned and willing to work with us.

I'm normally very positive but I can't be mugged off, and neither should you.

I'm with you they have known there was an issue since shortly after the O.G. Pn release and released a second product with the same issue. However to their credit they have tried to rectify the problem through multiple pong redesigns.

I would be willing to bet they are still running around claiming not one V2 pong failed on the O.G. Pn because that was what they were claiming immediately after I talked with them about my v2 Pong failing. When I finally got a response out of them it was in a thread and replacing mine with the higher temp pong from the pro would have resulted in many others wanting it for SAFETY concerns. I was knocked down and discredited pretty aggressively over a LEGITIMATE HEALTH CONCERN. And at that time they were still sending out units with the v1 pongs that they knew were MELTING. For damage control we got the answer that they are not melting but "softening and degrading". They clearly have knowingly sold bad pongs and insulted their customers intelligence to claim none have melted.

Be a fan boy all you want, I was until after months of posting how great my Pn was and with the revisions and a few public forums returns, how I thought they were doing great handling C.S. issues. I was confident all I had to do was contact TRVB and all would be well. It took weeks and contacting them through every available resource and when I was finally talking with someone it was TRVB herself that went into damage control and immediately went on the defensive. TBH I was shocked at how it was handled until I started looking around and seeing the others that were being discredited or ignored and that they were knowingly still selling V1 pongs. Early in the release they took care of people, once the reputation was there that sentiment ended. I am sure the chosen more vocal fanboys will be taken care of though so step on up and defend them.

BTW the Pro pong doesn't melt on the Pn so maybe the Pn3 will have a pong that works safely for the Pnpro. If the Gong is the answer to MANY failed pongs how is it not the new standard? A price jump on new units would justly come with that since it is a more expensive piece. Selling a unit that requires an upgrade or you will likely be inhaling plastic fumes should be criminal.

I will be trying to stay out of this thread now but if this message prevents even one person from ending up in my shoes it is worth it. If you do buy one expect to have problems wit the MP and don't expect any options when your battery dies. If I had bought it with these expectations or it not taken 2 weeks each time to get a hold of someone and not been treated poorly we would not be having this discussion. It would be foolish to think this company weighs any ones concerns but their own.

I will put this on the record that I do not work for the company or have any interest in the company. Nor am I a fanboy lol, I just like the product enough that I wont return it unless we don't have a solid solution going. With that being said, lets see what happens. That's some shitty stuff that you went through and we all want to avoid that. I am glad you are sharing and informing us of everything again. We need that kind of input. We need both good and bad here so if you are a new buyer you can either warrant the purchase of a PnP or avoid it and get something else. Lets see how this plays out. We are all being more open now and we shouldn't just take things how it is, we can push for change and make things happen.

Thank you for at least listening and considering what I said! In the end I was so disappointed because my expectations were high based on what I saw here early on.

I LOVED my Pn and even after my qualms am considering replacing it since I miss it lasting more than one session. I am having a hard time making that choice but if I do get a new one I will go into it knowing what to expect out of the PN and VB so I wont be let down.

I really like this community and hope I am not breaking rules by voicing my concerns, I was happy with the product but not so much with the company. The fact is once my MP issue was resolved the thing was solid and try as I might I can't find a unit I enjoy using more. If we had a solution for the battery I would have no choice but to replace it even if I expect zero C.S.
