Gear Best Clearo for Pure Gold?

PG works great with the Sapphires. Been running PG and PG+ in two different carts for over a month now...no leaks.

Definitely interested in hearing about the Aspire EPEN BDC cartos or any others that might work in similar circumstances.

I have used Aspire BDC products with liquidized concentrate. Never tried the EPEN style but I've used the ce5 ego style, and the et-s glass tank. They have performed well for me, way less leaking than my mini protanks which I have pretty much given up on after many catastrophic leaks. A couple times the Aspires got a little gurgley and leaked a bit of oil onto the battery but it was minimal. I've hesitated to recommend these here mainly because of the mixed reviews I've read online. Apparently the atomizer heads can be finicky, some perform flawlessly while others (from the same pack) leak and gurgle right out of the box. Not too big a deal for normal ecig people but filling a 2 ml tank with concentrates and having it not perform and leak badly can be a terrible situation.

The sapphire clearomizers dont perform as well as the aspire, or protanks for that matter, but I have yet to have one leak on me. I also like the smaller capacity of the sapphires. It makes them easier to conceal and, if issues do occur, you stand to lose less oil than if a full aspire tank fails. Why not just fill the larger tanks with less liquid you ask? Both the protank and aspire tanks perform much better when full. When the level of liquid drops below a 1/2 or 1/4 tank the quality of the hit drops and that is when most of the gurgling and leaking seems to occur.

Was gonna ask....my cartomizer came with 1.8, 2.0, and 2.2olm atomizers. I put in the 1.8. For future knowledge what should i have chosen?

Personal preference really. The lower the resistance the warmer/harder the hits will be. Since you are using the twist battery you can pretty much dial in your ideal vape by adjusting the voltage. If you use the higher resistance atomizers, you may need to crank the voltage a bit to get to your sweet spot.

The clearo's are made by a company in China called "Buddy Technology" (sometimes also called BuddyTech). Link to their site in english.
Since the GotVapes store is out of stock on the Sapphire V5 what about buying directly from Buddy Tech?

Would Pure Gold work with a no wick atomizer like the FS-2.4?

It looks like the BUD E-cigarettes are still being sold. Are people here on FC not buying them because they were outta stock at GotVapes? Or because theyre using an older V4 technology? (im not sure if there is a difference)

People aren't buying directly from Buddy Tech probably because GotVapes just went out of stock (within the last week). No idea how long til they get a new supply though. I think I also recall reading somewhere where GotVapes had stated they worked with the manufacturer to implement some improvements. Likely, Buddy Tech just took they're changes and applied them to everything they make, but who knows.

Also, can you even order directly from Buddy Tech? I didn't really see a place to order on their site (but I didn't search by any means). I think they're strictly whole sale. Maybe if you were looking to buy a couple pallets though :)

Never heard of the FS-2.4, so can't help you there.

What about the complete BUD pen? That has been outta stock for many months i thought. People have just been buying the $6 Cartomizer set by itself until the V5 version went outta stock last week?

Click this link and look at the product list. The FS-2.4 looks small which is good, but i have no idea the technology its using and if it might work well with Pure Gold.

Buying direct from Buddy Tech is definitely an option. I wrote them last night with simple questions. Trying to figure out if there are new cartomizers, and which of the BUD pens use the most recent version. Also asked about the BLUE colored cap and how it relates to the product line. That seems to be the most recent V5 that GotVapes resells.

No idea when GotVapes sold out of the whole kit, but I do believe it was quite a while ago. So yes, since then people have just been buying the cartomizers and using them on any battery they desire.

The only thing that was special about the whole pen starter kit was the cover and pen cap that screwed on and went over the cartomizer. In fact, I'd bet using the battery of your choice is a set up from whatever battery they were including in the kit. The cover/cap just provides some protection for the cartomizer, keeps the tip clean if going in your bag/pocket, and I believe adds to the stealth factor a bit.

That being said, I really liked the look of the cover and pen cap. If you look back on the last page, I show two sources I found where you can still order just the cover/pen cap. The only catch is that they're in the UK and China, so shipping to the States was high.

I ordered from the China source I listed and the part fits perfectly. $25 shipping for a $5 part sucked, but whatever. Hopefully the Aspire BDC EPEN works well enough and people can pick that up if they want the pen look.

Buying direct from Buddy Tech is definitely an option. I wrote them last night with simple questions.

Did they think you were a wholesale buyer though, or just an individual user? I know those Chinese factories will often send out samples for free, but they are expecting those people to potentially order massive quantities. I could be completely off though, that was just my impression.

Yes i finally read the entire thread last night. One thing about this forum that i really like is everyone is knowledgeable and not rude. I was asking questions that were answered and talked about the page before. Nobody pulled the "go back and read" thing. Its a relatively short thread too. Takes time to absorb all this stuff and sometimes you want quick answers. Thats why i join forums is to learn and eventually help others if i reach that level.

I wrote Buddy Tech as an individual user. Told them straight up i need info regarding their BUD Cartomizers and the new FS-2.4. Asked what is the most recent version and what comes on the different BUD E cigarettes.

Since then i have done further searching. I see the BLUE cap now. Although its not shown on some of the pictures. Im interested in the cover like you mention Roth. Also agree the variable voltage battery i have is prolly a step up from the included battery on the BUD cigarettes.

I can tell where this is leading. Will prolly end up buying their smallest available lot depending on price differences. I could then sell them to people on this forum for whatever it costs if people want the cover. Or i might just buy a Lot of the individual cartomizers. Depends what the buddy tech rep says.

Im curious what people think of the No Wick style. Is that anyway healthier?

I too haven't heard of the FS-2.4, so I also can't comment. Try one and let us know. :)

You mention that you have gone back and re-read the thread from the beginning, so you have read my comments on the differences I found between the GotVapes Sapphire version of the Buddy Clearo and the other versions I tried. I don't know if Bud is incorporating the changes in all they sell or not, but the reason the "people here on FC are buying the GotVapes version" is probably because they work very well, or because they just trust my recommendations. :) I'm waiting for GotVapes to get more in stock too (I'm down to just four left). Oh, and GotVapes coined the name "Sapphire" and they also seem to be the ones using the version numbers (e.g., the current Sapphire is V5, the four I have here are still V4's); no one else that sells them seems to use the version number. (And I can't figure out what the difference is between version 4 and version 5).

People aren't buying directly from Buddy Tech probably because GotVapes just went out of stock (within the last week). No idea how long til they get a new supply though. Anyone can buy from Buddy Tech, you just have to satisfy their minimum order (not quite pallet's worth), and be willing to wait a month or so for them to arrive. You probably read here in my original message about the collaboration between GotVapes and Buddy; there used to be two versions of the Buddy, one for thin e-juice and one for thick. The GotVapes guys figured out a different wick that allowed one version to work with both thicknesses of e-juice. I also presume that all the mods made for GotVapes wind up in all the Bud carts, but I stopped buying them from anyone besides GotVapes since everyone else's didn't work as well, so I really don't know...

The caps and sleeves are still an elusive item. I got the last one from GotVapes about a year ago, and they haven't had any more since. I made a sleeve from a vape pen a friend sent me (by gutting the vape part out), and I got a couple of official Buddy sleeves and caps third hand from Australia thanks to a kind FC user. I find myself using a standard tapered sleeve more these days than the "stock" tube and cap.

I would like to go back and read the beginning of the thread again. Im more familiar with the Buddy product line and basic terms used. Definitely not trying to dog on GotVapes. I would buy their V5 cartomizer right now, wish i could. Thats why im like dang maybe we can buy straight from Buddy Tech?

So youre liking the Tapered sleeve better? The style that does not cover the mouthpiece correct? In the link below there is the standard 2012 BUD E and the BUD-EGO. The BUD E uses the tube sleeve and cap, the BUD-EGO uses the tapered sleeve. Think im going to buy around 10 of the BUD Cartomizers and see if i can also buy sleeve kits. The parts are so cheap that if i spend $50 on this stuff whats it really hurt? If it turns out other people can use the sleeves then sweet, i can mail them out. For whatever it cost me not for a profit of course.

What would people prefer? The tapered sleeve or the older tube with cap? I will inquire about both.

http://www.szxp88.com/en/products.asp?pid=19

Another option is you can buy the BUD-EGO (VGO) kit for around $20. Comes with 2 pens and 3 cartomizers. I might go that route if they cannot sell a "sleeve kit".

Read the entire thread again last night. More of it is making sense. I dont remember reading the part about different wicks for different thicknesses of e-juice. Maybe thats in a different thread?
Again please dont let it seem like im trying to rip on GotVapes. But i dont think they have done any research and development for buddy tech. Im in contact with a rep he finally wrote back this morn at 6:30. We are now 20 messages deep. Its freakin hilarious talking with these guys. In my head i keep singing "communication breakdown....its always the same!!!! having a cartomizer breakdown....drive me insaaaaaaaaane!!!!"

Looks like its on for sure woohoo. About to buy 20 BUD cartomizers, 10 of the BUD-EGO covers, and 10 of the older BUD-E covers with dustproof cap. Also getting 1 of the BUD-VGO complete 2 pen sets.

Just negotiating the shipping cost at the moment. He wants $45 to send this small little package. Im familiar with DHL shipping it is expensive, but for this size package his quote is high.

Very nice!

I was charged $25 for shipping a small package with just one dust cover/cap from China via DHL. To be fair though, it did make it here in 2-3 days (I forget which).

$45 does seem steep though, it's not like you can't pack your whole order into a VERY small box. Those things aren't individually boxed.

Good luck!

Amazing how quickly things can progress. A week ago i didnt have a clue what a cartomizer was. Jump to today and im buying them in sets of 20 direct from the manufacture. It took 27 messages but we finally got passed the Led Zeppelin communication breakdown. Order is paid for but he says the financial department wont process it until Monday.

When i include the $45 shipping cost this is what the covers cost me. If anyone needs a cover i would be happy to mail some out. We can just add on the shipping cost from me to you. I have a paypal account, think they charge a percentage which should be small.

BUD-E Casing with Dust proof mouthpiece cover $4.10
BUD-EGO Casing $2
BUD Cartomizer $2.30

To see what each looks like visit this link. Observe the difference between the 2012 BUD-E and the BUD-EGO models.

Not sure if this is the right spot but I was wondering if any has tried to drop some colloidal silver on dry herbs and vaped to get the silver straight to the lungs. I thought of this yesterday in the shower haha so I haven't really research turning silver to vape, but I know companies sell products to vape silver to the lungs. any insight will help me before I try this idea out with my vapor brothers box.

I have been using a GotVapes Sapphire cart now for about 2 months running uncut Pure Gold. Not a hint of leakage after 1.5g. Hits great, and it does tickle my throat as well. The stealth is worth it.

I just think the density of the herb is the only think I'm not sure about working. If I put a half tea spoon of colloidal silver on dry herb I feel like it might not vaporize the same. But I've been using colloidal silver for over 3 years as immune support and its the secrete no lie. I just wanted to try and get it into the lungs to see if it is some how more effective being absorbed directly through the blood stem... guess ill just have to try some things by trial and error.

I need iron in my diet, however I dont think vaporizing it and inhaling it is a good idea. Thats all Im saying.

I got my Aspire BDC Epen in the mail a few days ago.

I really like the look and feel of it, quite a bit actually.

However, Like @walrus said, it performs better then the Sapphire, but it leaks. I get numerous gurgles and it leaks into the battery. I've decided to stop using it and wait til I get back in town to remove my extract from the cartomizer.

I cannot recommend the Aspire BDC, which is too bad, I wanted to like it.

The goods came in yesterday!!! Would have been here sooner but i placed the order during one of Chinas national holidays. Many companies shut down and one of those was the supplier for the Pen Cap. It added a week to the processing time. But overall im really happy with the transaction. The covers are individually wrapped and the cartomizers come in the packs of 2 inside the black BUD box.

We're u able to get the seller to confirm that u are getting the sapphire v5 equivalent? Is so I'd pitch in for 4-5 cartos
Yes definitely my very first message to the sales rep had a link to the Sapphire V5 page. I told him the company was out of stock and im looking to buy the newest version of cartomizer they make. The sales rep said they sell to many companies around the world and they only manufacture one version. Everybody gets the same one.

They are working great just as described in this thread. Im a little bummed i guess my Ego-twist variable voltage battery doesnt work with the BUD carts. When i screw it on the positive lead is not making contact. Thinking of putting a drop of solder on the battery itself to make it work.

I have been using the complete Bud Pen. But its a 3.7v battery and reading 3.92v on my multimeter. Going by advice on this thread a think a 3.2v battery will be a much nicer hit.

If anyone wants a Bud Cover or cartomizers i got them here. Just send me a PM and i can mail them out. This forum has been very helpful so trying to spread the love.

Adding a drop of solder to the battery center contact (or the bottom of the Sapphire) is probably not a great idea...

If you're careful, you can pull out the center positive contact on the bottom of the Sapphire a little, and it should make contact with whatever battery you use. I've used a tiny hemostat to do it before, though proper wiggling will allow even a wooden toothpick to do the job. The center contact doesn't have to stick out very far, less than 1mm. You have to make sure you leave a gap around the center contact after you pull it out a little; be very careful you haven't accidentally moved it sideways causing it to touch the outer (negative) shell. There should be an even air gap all the way around the center positive contact.

I had one battery that had an abnormally high center pin, and it pushed in the center contact on every clearo/tank/atty I had if they had a floating center pin. Then they wouldn't work (make contact) on any other battery I had. So I got pretty good at pulling out the center pin on my Sapphires. I finally tossed the one battery with a "too high" center pin.

Oh, and nice of you to offer to those who want a cover for their Sapphire clearos. :tup:When you run out, I just discovered a place that sells them via a web site. $4 each. Never used this site before and don't know anything about them, but they do offer the two piece pen-cap style covers. Click here (or on the pictures below). [Just noticed that @Roth already found this site, and gave a link to it a page ago.]

Oh, and fwiw, I sent a note to GotVapes the other day, and they said they just re-ordered a bunch of Sapphires and they should be back in stock in a week or two (not that you should need any for a while).

:)

I grabbed a couple pen caps and clearos from choppa. He was a pleasure to deal with and shipped them over to me super quick.

The pen caps work great for me, I work construction and the pen can get roughed up a bit if its in my pocket all day. With the cap it is a sturdy little unit and it keeps the mouth piece free of the dust and debris. The caps make the unit a little longer but the overall length is just right with a mini ego battery.

My better half prefers an automatic battery over a push button style. We've been using this sd keyring battery.
http://www.electronicstix.com/products/the-sd-keyring-by-trog-510-threaded
Or the maxi version.
http://www.electronicstix.com/products/the-sd-maxi-keyring-650-mah-by-trog-510-threaded

These are great little batteries as far as automatics go. No ego threading, so the pen caps don't work with them but they are an impressive performer considering the tiny size. A Sapphire cart on this battery is super discreet. The whole thing can easily be concealed in the palm of your hand while taking a hit, nothing lights up or anything like that. You could hit this setup damn near anywhere and absolutely no one would be the wiser. The maxi is a good bit longer but still palm-able and has a bit more life to the battery.
