Discontinued Vapir NO2

Hello again

I'm struggling to get the same level of 'enjoyment' from vaping as I got from smoking and just wondering if that's a common complaint, as everything I've read (admittedly from the 'pro vape' side) suggests that the experience is far greater in comparison

I'm heating up to 365 degrees, adding erbs and taking long smooth tokes. I do get a buzz, but it's nowhere near the same high as with a joint

I haven't read up enough on vaping in general, and I'll remedy that, but just thought I'd ask in here as maybe I'm doing something wrong! Not that I can think of too many ways to do it :D

Bump up the temp to 385 for the beginning of your session after about ten minutes bump it up to 400 to finish off your session. Higher heat will give a more smoke like buzz.

I'll give that a whirl

How long is a typical session in your opinion? This is the first time (had it for a week) that I've ever vaped so all a bit new

Also, the vaporiser itself, takes an eternity to get to the right temperature if not plugged in, this normal? Plugged in its rapid, unplugged maybe 5 mins or so? That's not really an eternity

And I'm not sure it's charging too, does it need to be switched on in order to charge?

Lastly, no really; should anything be visible when I breathe out? Because nothing ever is

Yes it needs to be turned on to charge. mine takes around 3 and a half minutes to get up to vaping temps when cordless.

I take my sessions usually to the auto shut off. Starting at around 360 taking a few hits for taste then bump it up 10 to 15 degrees, take a few hits , I usually sit at around 390 the longest.

At 360 with the no2 not much vapor will be visible, you'll see more when you raise the temp.

people miss the rush that carbon dioxide gave when they smoked....
They do not really miss it, but the brain is still expecting it.
Things change and you will become happier with the vape high

Ok cool, that's pretty much what I was doing. Just not feeling very much at all, and this is going to turn out to be violently expensive given the amount of plant I could get through!

I've watched a few vids and they all, at the same temperature I'm at, with the same amount of product and the same technique (I think) show a clear amount of vapour release. Some, actual clouds worth, some just steam. Nothing at all with mine. Guess I'm trying to ensure I'm doing it right (that sounds brilliant) and that the actual vaporiser itself is working as it should!

With that in mind actually, I tried to clean the filter in the lid, and it's pushed further into the lid. Could this be having an adverse effect? And if so, how the hell do I get it out? Presume the filters must pop out easily enough in order to clean them

This is exactly what I hoped I'd get from vaping, and I'm still hopeful that it will happen

Problem is as I'm really not getting particularly baked, I'm smoking before bed which I guess is detrimental to my body getting rid of the CD etc

Took me 2 weeks to be totally happy without combustion.

Oh wow, ok well I guess that's a good thing in that if you'd have said days I'd have been concerned. And did you totally cut out combustion? Like a clean break, cold turkey type thing?

Case in point, filled up with what I'd call a generous Js worth, Ie 3/4 full. Been vaping whilst posting and started at 370 then moved up, all the way to 390 for the remaining. Plants are brown and crispy, but I am not very crispy at all. I am decidedly uncrispy

Your herbs are brown and crispy and still no signs of vapors ?
I would look into cleaning the air path , maybe the mouthpiece needs to be taken apart and cleaned out .

I vaped two days.. then smoked a j... then vaped 2 more days.
I became confused.
I became saturated with THC, and could smell the smell of the vape oils.. and it bothered me some...
BUT
when I would smoke a J.. I tasted less and less of the flavor I thought I was looking for.
After a week, the vape smell became appealing to me.. I stuck with it for a week.
Tried one last Joint. I was disgusted by the taste.
I never smoked a doob again.
Vapor has been my path since.
aaand the lift is clear, and....
you do not "come down" the same way (they even call coming down "crashing"
it is a gentle float back down to earth... and you never even notice you landed... except knowing it is time to take off again.

The screen twists out of the cap.counter clockwise i believe.
Best to do it when warm/hot.
You could also soak the whole lid in ISO.
Do you have an o ring around the cap?
Also put weed in set to temp 375-380 to start for me.
And yes it heats up much faster plugged in than with the battery

You would be wise to follow instructions,, and NOT place herb in before oven is heated.
The rising temperature against your herb exacerbates deposits of oils from the flower on the oven walls.
You will be fine for a while, but this does build up.
Herb placed in an already hot oven starts vaping right away.
The heating process allows the herb to be touching ever heating walls without you gaining access to the non present vapor (until unit is at temperature).
There is a logic behind their instructing users to heat unit first.

Thanx for this insight Vito.
I've always used the no2 like this, Heat to temp then load my herb. The no2 has always been so easy to maintain, just dump the AVB and brush off the top screen after each session and brush out the chamber everynight. I never put together the idea that it stayed cleaner because of when I loaded the chamber.

Now I've been loading my other session type portables after they reach vaping temp,
They All Stay Cleaner This Way and give you that fresh sweet taste much longer.

Something as simple as when I load my herb really changed my vaping experience quite a bit.

Hi! I bought the NO2 just over a week ago because my new landlords did not like the aroma my home created (even though I attempted to advertise that aroma when I interviewed for the place). In the 10 days that I've been putting the NO2 through its paces (with 4-5 uses a day) they have not mentioned a smell so I'm very pleased on that front. I was previously not a huge vape fan, so it is an adjustment. I have a few questions and reading 85 pages is out of the question) SO here are my queries:

The hose (and the top part of the top piece) are getting a liquid on them. What's the best way to clean this?
How often do you change the screens?
What do you do with your vaped herbs afterward?
Does a finer grind really make a difference? Like should it be practically powder?
How do I know if it is too hot?
What is a good temperature to pre-heat to before I drop in the herbs?
Have you ever used it in a public place in front of strangers?

If I think of more, I'll come back, but this is good for now.

Welcome to FC: @candidecoating

to clean the tube I use the wood tool to gather the bigger drops of oil and put it on my bud to revape it. the oil is pure reclaim so you could even soak it up in cotton(make sure its medical or first aid grade pure unbleached cotton) and vaporize it that way. I use ISO alcohol to clean the rest of the way then rinse with hot water

I don't change my screens very often, I found that if I brush out the chamber and brush off the top screen after a session they don't get that bad. I've had the same screen in the bottom chamber for a year now and only changed the top when I've messed it up brushing it clean so I think it's only been replaced with a new one twice

I Do long sessions and finish at 400F most of the time so I don't save my AVB although I often just eat it after a session.

How you grind is up to you and your preference, With a finer grind I get bigger vapor when I exhale and more evenly baked herbs with no stirring but find I have to clean more. For the last few months I stopped grinding for the no2 and lightly form my bud into a little Ball or football shaped pellet 1/3 the size of the chamber. Starting at 360F The Taste is amazing, I bump the temp up 5 degrees or more every 4-5 hits until it times out. Very little cleaning this way, Less visible vapor but full effects with better taste.

It Cannot get too hot as in burn your herb I use my NO2 at top temp all the time. Find your own place to start. Like I said above sometimes I start at 360F sometimes 400F.

I have walked around a park with my NO2 in a waterbottle cover(sling,Whatever) and it worked out fine but I know if your sitting somewhere vaping on any vaporizer in public I'll see what your doing at least,
you can't really hide the action of taking hits off of any vape and hide from those who know.

PEACE.

See Vito's Notes on NO2
How often do you change the screens?
Never. In 3 years I have not changed a screen.. only rinse with Iso (91%) and hot water after.
What do you do with your vaped herbs afterward?
Put in a jar and save it. I make Tincture & Flour, and bake with the flour.. and eat the tincture. Some folks make ABV Butter .. See Vito's ABV notes
Does a finer grind really make a difference? Like should it be practically powder?
Not powder. medium/fine grind
How do I know if it is too hot?
You will taste "too much" flavor, and vapor will be thick. Some folks like lighter flavor (350º) and others heavier (385º). Heavier is heavier medication effect. Too hot may also be when your mouth or throat no longer feel pleasant.
What is a good temperature to pre-heat to before I drop in the herbs?
I like 377º, by personal preference.
Have you ever used it in a public place in front of strangers?
Yes. If anyone looks right at me.. I continue inhaling and make DIRECT eye contact with them. They won't hold your gaze for long!

I recently purchased a n02 off a friend. Everything works fine with it but I noticed the cap doesn't stay tight on it. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? Would a new cap help or is this just how it functions? I cleaned it pretty good and im kinda worried that i messed up the locking mechanism. It stays on fine while im vaping but if i was moving around a lot or going on a hike the cap would probably jiggle off. Either way, the vape was well worth the purchase, even if I had to pay full price. I was worried about the materials and smell but never had any issues, not that I owned it brand new so I cant speak there.

Sounds like it could be a problem with the o-ring.

What is the condition of the o-ring on the cap? Is it dry, cracked, or worn? Is it even there?

Hey guys,

Greetings from the Netherlands! After reading a lot of posts in this thread (very informative!!) and buying an No2 myself I thought it would be time to become a member of FC and share what happened to my vape. Also curious if this has happened with other users of this vape.

So I bought my No2 like 4 months ago on Ebay (not an official dealer, but they promised a 1 year warranty). So I saw that the battery had an micro usb in, so I thought I could charge it in my computer. So as stupid as I was I connected the battery to my laptop and it immediately shut my laptop off. After that the usb ports weren't working anymore, so it must have caused a short circuit or something.

After this I used the battery without any problems for some months in my unit, when one day it started to overheat and burn the herbs that I had inside. Really strange was that it first heated to 380 F fine, but then it dropped to around 290 F and stayed around there (with still the preset temp being on 380 F). This while my herbs were burning really fast. After this happening a couple of times, I contacted my Ebay seller and I was almost ready to sent it to the United States for a replacement (very expensive in shipping costs off course) I decided to try heating it one more time with the AC adapter, without the battery inside. And surprisingly it worked like normal again, after heating it for multiple times! I was really relieved because I really liked this unit. Off course it is very likely that connecting the battery to my laptop and the short circuit caused the battery to be damaged.

So if anyone has overheating problems with this unit, try it without the battery and see if it works normally again. I am very curious to hear if other people had overheating problems with this unit like me.

Greetings

What's nice about the No.2 that it has replaceable batteries and the batteries aren't that expensive. So it's sounds like you're good to go. Maybe you shouldn't try the damaged battery again just by a couple more.

Enjoy!

So I saw that the battery had an micro usb in,

Wow , that's news to me .
A usb plug , and it allows you to use it while charging up .
I like that upgrade , for sure .

I'm guessing Mr. Vito is a little preoccupied ...
so here's it is .

Here is my sad little story. I read up on vaporizing and decided to give it a go. I prefer local over online (in case of a problem, plus support your neighbors.) I went to 3 shops looking for Da Buddha and after 3 not in stocks I bought the Chinese knock off of Vapor Bros wood box. I knew it was the wrong thing but I was determined to get into vaping. I blackened some stock but got the idea and was more determined than before to get a "Quality" unit.

I went to another local and purchased NO2. Took it home and loved it. No more black. Very heady ride. Didn't like filling it allot but over all enjoyed the experience.

2 days (1 1/2 actually) unit goes dead. With or without battery, plugged in doesn't matter, dead unit. Go back to store and they point to all sales final sign. They want me to send in for warranty work. I say no, thing must last longer than 2 days. This is within return time.

Owner agrees to be my advocate and deal with company. He pays for postage and I await it's return (UPS on Wed).{2 1/2 weeks} I contended that his salesman should exchange for new unit but company insists on warranty being applied.

I have since purchased Da Buddha and am very pleased and intend to use NO2 as backup or loner.

To all my bros and sisters out there can you tell me about "vape signature"?
Is it important to keep several vapes in rotation to not get "used to" one?

Thanks for your time

It is important to try different vapes to find the one most effective to you.
Getting used to a vape is less of a factor in medicating than becoming tolerant of a single strain.
Vape signature is a recently coined term for the new millenium.
Different delivery systems do provide different effects a bit, but one must vaporize quite often, hard and regularly (all the time) to notice this difference

@TeeJay1952 The headshops around here all have the 'All sales final no returns' policy. As long as they enforce this and charge at least twice as much money for any item none of them will ever get my money again, even the one I've been going to since '75. Paying $220 for a no2 when they won't do anymore then sell it, I Say No way.

Good thing is a faulty NO2 is actually pretty rare and once you receive your warranted unit it ought to serve you well for years along with your da Buddha. Enjoy the sweet vapor from both.
