Understood. I apologize for that. I didn't mean to insult but rather to try and get a clearer understanding of what propels people to do what they do. While I may not understand it and while I may not agree with it, I don't mean to disparage but I totally understand how my question and how I worded it sounded that way, especially in the context of what's been going on here.

There is a terribly disturbing tone of gloating in this thread by many people who have never even previously posted in it.
What prompts you people to come in here and basically say "I told you so" to your fellow community members. Do you really want to split the community?
Each person who has agreed to participate (which we did) has to decide what they want to do (which we have). We were having concerns prior to this fallout about the question of voltage.... I still hope it turns out to be an awesome product...
I have a serious issue with some of the statements made to this person when you all thought it was a woman but didn't get to mention it before the blow up, especially the FedEx comment! I'm not going to go into any of it or argue any specific points. Quite simply if you are not female you do not get it and you cannot get it...you'll never understand.
I'm reconsidering if this is a community that I want to be a part of. You can all go be condescending somewhere else you know...

Tdub, I am not meaning to insult you but like lwein I don't get it at all. Isn't a beta tester someone who gets a product and does data and help improve a product before release? I personally wouldn't advertise something I haven't used. It reminds me of the actors and actresses who hock products and don't even like them. I can't help how I feel. It is just all a sham to me and if I didn't know better I would think a lot of vapes are the best thing out there that aren't really(no vape in particular). I am looking at it from an outside perspective. I will drop the evo stuff but I don't like the company practices and that is my choice as well. I am also not a water person so it would never be a vape for me. I know people love it and that is great. The issue that was brought up here about the versa is the banner which is held by that other vape and a few others on and off. Another off the top of my head is that s71 or whatever it is.

I didn't get that pic, but damn it's making me want it.....tough to give another chance after repetitive lies and leaving customers hanging, but so wanting to believe in redemption.

Vixen, there was some pretty sexist shit (I'm not quite sure if that is what you are referring to) said in this thread but please understand, that is but a VERY, VERY small minority when it comes to the FC community as a whole. I abhor that kind of stuff as much as you and I have no doubt that FC management feels the same way, so please don't judge us on the actions of a few.

I think you missread that. He replaced it with a new banner. The animation was killing my eyes it had nothing to do with the banner itself.

What's kinda funny about this is one, I never even mentioned you in my post above and two, the first person that accused us (you) of being sexist was Versa, or Lieana, or whoever that was that wrote that email.
I'd just hate to see SV leave because she feels that that may be happening here which really couldn't be further from the truth for that is the LAST thing that FC is.

I'm almost sorry I made the VXL Beta Crew Banner to begin with now although its been really fun. I'm just an old car guy ie race track guy (open wheel), and I like to brand stuff, so I paint my sig like a racetrack. I know some people think I'm some kind of mindless VXL devotee, but that is not true. I have been very hard on SM in private, where it belongs, and he has proven himself, to me, to be a man of character.

@Dreamerr you have made your opinion perfectly crystal clear a number of times. Please let it go. Your point is inconsequential to this discussion. I don't see or feel that anyone has been doing anything wrong with having a banner. We were merely waiting for a product that we were excited about.

Had a bit of an exchange with Versa this morning, in the hopes of salvaging this situation, that may enlighten.
-I told them I was on the fence and that although I appreciated Christopher offering belated CS on his MW and Incognito, I was puzzled why he didn't offer that sooner, rather than now, when it might bolster the now fracturing image of the Versa company.
Anyway, being in So Cal, and under the mistaken impression they were in the LA area, I suggested I come up to their offices, see the production facility, pick up my unit, test it, and report back to FC, figuring this would clear up much speculation.
-They quickly responded they are in Nor Cal and suggested filming a video of the factory and production line and posting to Indiegogo. They said they believed in the idea of adding FC members, and they have an LA glassblower I could watch during production.
-I responded that reading the inconsistencies and apparent lies within some of their emails posted by FC members would likely push more members further away and if something didn't happen soon, all might bail.
With that in mind, I suggested I present my idea and invitation to a trusted Nor Cal FC member to do an onsite visit.
-They responded they are working to send out units today and tomorrow. It's the best they can do right now.
I question the reluctance for an onsite visit, but having since seen CheeseSandwich's pic, and previous pics, they do seem to be producing these. I'll be generous and say they may feel so pressured due to current circumstances, that they can't make time for a tour for a skeptical FC member.
But I can't help but wonder what the quality of the build and subsequent customer service may be like.
This whole situation makes me very appreciative of Dave @underdog, G @THC SCIENTIFIC, VXH, Da Vinci, PlanetVape, the MFLB folks, and many others I've had the good fortune to do business with through highs and lows.
Guess I am still on the fence until Saturday night.

As we are all getting emotional over this, I'd like to offer some perspective.
The facts:
1 -- HiPi made a decent product with the MagicWand and was banned from here for having multiple accounts to promote the MW. The company later went out of business leaving some customers and vendors hanging.
2 -- A couple years later HiPi returned as Leilana with a new product, the Versa. (I, for one, have come to the conclusion they are one and the same.) The affiliation got exposed and Leilana got banned for multiple accounts (as HiPi).
As I've said about the Grasshopper astoturfing, while it is a sin of gross magnitude on this forum, it's pretty standard in the world. While we're not gonna tolerate it here, that doesn't mean the company is bad to deal with or the products bad to own.
But that does not speak to Versa the company or the products themselves. As for the previous company making the MW, shit happens. Companies go out of business. Some do it serially. Just look at the construction and lawn service industries, for example. People close up shop all the time and open under a new LLC to avoid past liabilities. I don't know if this will happen again with Versa, but if it happens in those industries, it sure as hell is gonna happen in the cannabis industry. This is where the real risk to a Versa customer lies. You must ask yourself if they are going to be around a while, and no one knows...not even them.
I, for one, am rooting for the product. I think it has some legitimate advances in vaping and I love the modularity. But most of all I like that it appears to be a good vape that doesn't cost upwards of $600. The market needs some new vapes in this price range. All we currently have is a bunch of older, very reliable and proven vapes (7th Floor products and the Extreme) and the new Baker in this price range. It's time for some other options for desktop vapes.
Companies don't need this forum to do well in the vape world. Arizer, Storz & Bickel and Ploom have zero presence here and are model companies in the vape world. The Solo is one of the strongest threads on this forum. This will have to be the fate of Versa. They are not going to be welcome here, but that doesn't mean they won't succeed. This thread will thrive or die based on the merits of the vape itself, and I think that is a good thing.
Let the beta testing begin and the chips fall where they may. I look forward to hearing the results.
