Welcoming the VIP 1.3 to my family! Just got it in the mail and charging it up. Thank you USPS for braving the snow storm, my lungs are grateful:D

The taste depends on how you use it, and if you let it get dry between loads.
My advice always is to maintain the flavor and function, by not letting the level get too low.
add oil/wax as you go to keep it from forming a "skin/scab" of dried wax.
The clouds can be huge, and I can not compare the dabbler fairly to this device.
You can surely get huge clouds with both!
The VIP lets you load and run with more ready to go.

I'm going to take that as a ringing endorsement for the VIP. Thank you.
One more thing, if I could only afford to get one of the VIP or vip2 which one would you suggest?
just checked the ssv website, and im confused. if i get a vip1 is the dry herb chamber kit only for herb? it doesnt mention that it is for oil. is that a error or is the domearizer the only one for bho?

Wow.
That is a tight question, because they each have a strength.
VIP2 is small.. tiny.. gives monster clouds indeed.
Users all love it, but if you have poor manual dexterity, consider that the atomizer is small, and "dabbing" aim is minute. Oh yes, and it is for a dab... a couple fat rips... a few lighter blasts.
VIP1 is thicker, and has room to load a big old green pea sized "knob o' wax"....
while not as dependent upon your hand/eye coordination, still needs the owner to be mindful of the way they perform maintenance.
Forgetfulness happen when one is well medicated.. and even sometimes better judgement is ignored for the moments comfort. Stay on top of either and they will last.
If you decide to go with VIP1 for the convenience of leaving a larger glob of concentrate in there, I would consider getting a second heater, to allow yourself time to make errors with your tool. I used my VIP1 heavily daily for 2 months before I noticed a decline in the performance, which led me to getting my next Heater.
My VIP2 is still on it's original heater, but it only gets used a couple of times a day.

VIP1 .... each person finds their tricks to keep it clean.
Once in a while it would clog up a bit, so I would have to learn which of the 4 inlets was not working, and rather than be lazy and let the thing work at reduced capacity, I would see to it's function on the spot... (troubles always get worse-not better)
I found a way to use 4 fingers (using both hands) to cover all 4 holes- then I would suck, and uncover 1 hole at a time, until I find the one that is sluggish (or worse... stuck). I would then cover all working holes, and reveal ONLY the poorly functioning one... apply heat (depress battery).. and suck, and get a good hit with only the slow port open. The 4 will be equal now.

VIP2 does not need to be kept clean this way. one coil to lay a drop on, and one tube to inhale the wax through. Things get sticky in wax land! There are parts to keep an eye on.

I enjoy both of these pens.

Local patients are equally divided on it.
Everyone likes what they become accustomed to, and Necessity being
the saucy little Mother of invention:science: that she is, we each WILL by the law:myday: of nature make whichever of these choices work well for us.
My impression from the vibe I get as I looked at your post...
was that you might want to load and go.
keep it filled. If that was the case, VIP1 is in order.

About pens:
I use and love The Dabbler, Omicron, O-Phos, Persei, VIP1 and VIP2.
I own others too. I have tried tons of them that I do not own.. and I do not like the other pens on the market.
About threads:
This is the VIP thread so I am most comfortable staying on that topic...
About Any tool:
Most good tools in the hand of a proficient vaporist can be manipulated to make a hit thicker than any man wants or needs...
ah like I said.. the Mother of invention is in town!

EDIT:
just checked the ssv website, and im confused. if i get a vip1 is the dry herb chamber kit only for herb? it doesnt mention that it is for oil. is that a error or is the domearizer the only one for bho?
The dry herb chamber kit is what I use for oil/wax.
Some folks do not.. the procedures I described were for the herb chamber... used without putting in the glass disc.
The domearizer is a great addition, and a separate kind of heating element. It has it's own maintenance routine, and works well also....
I but BHO in the Heating chamber, and maintain it ... and am prepared to replace if I eventually kill it.

Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
I love my vip2 and it is always good to go for me. I don't mind the off taste so it lasts me a long time with the one dab. I will say I always have other vapes with me so it is for a quick I NEED now type of thing. OG loaded and ready to go as I just did it. I cleaned the outside of the atty and the tube with iso cause as vito says it gets really sticky. I have many brown pieces of cotton to prove it.

solid device all around. Not sure what everyone likes to do but I hold the button down for 6-8 seconds and heat it for 30 sec or so before pulling. I enjoy the thicker vapor clouds. I use the heat chamber kit but I think i'm gonna go for the domarizer kit. vito's vid convinced me.

I am still loving this pen. I wish it had a stealth mode so you could use it without all the lights.

does any vip cart fit 510(dr dabber/dabbler)? i am looking for a better cart than the coil and wick system. the oil is dripping off my coil before it can be vaporized completely leaving lots of reclaim. what are the heating systems like here? im just looking for as simple as possible why cant it just be like the maud dib where it has a metal dish it can all stay in and burn off of. all this coil and wick business seems unecessarily complicated when all you need to do is burn off some oil

two heaters both last approximately 2 grams. The connect is 601, not 510. so when your heater burns make sure you replace it with something compatible.

I went to order a couple of replacement heating chambers from the website and shipping was $13. That is incredibly high. I also emailed them about a different matter a couple of weeks ago and I haven't heard back.

I read the first part of this thread, and people where. Questioning weather this was a quality product or just another rebranded crap pin, so it is a quality vape pin? And how we'll does it work on flowers?

That's a loaded question. It depends on your personal needs. Everyone's individual requirements are different. Do some research. You can find just about everything you want to know about vaporizers here at FC. And probably several threads about the question you just asked.

Looks like the Surfer guys have a new pen out. The Essence. Anyone have any info? Really want to know the battery life and load capacity. It looks very small. Only $60.

I ordered 2 VIP2's this week and an Essence. Unfortunately I don't get to keep them all and I chose a to get a VIP2 but I'll let you know what my friend says about her Essence.

I too decided to try the Essence.
It seemed a great deal.
It should arrive within a couple of days.
