Same here. ^

The EQ just seamed restrictive. I could make some nice vapors, just couldn't get it to go quick enough. Nothing like hitting a bong.

Thought about removing the fan and the bottom plastic air intake, but decided to just move on and sold the EQ.

But as I stated in another thread, the SSV is the heaviest hitter I've used, I can make it choke me up even on low.

I just got my SSV back not sure what was wrong with it but the dangling bolt or whatever it was inside has been fixed. Now can I get some assistance here guys, total newbie to the SSV and it arrived with the ground glass heater cover off and not popped in. Is there some video/guide out there in how to pop these heater covers back on? Do I just twist left to right until it sits all the way down? I don't even remember how it looked when properly seated as I only used it once kinda wish they popped it back in:(

Its very easy to slide it back on, you've got the right idea, just push and wiggle til it sits all the way down. : )

Edit: I just realized my heating element is straight now! its been a little crooked the whole time I've had it. It never hindered performance, and I have tried to straighten it before with no result. I've been using the oil dome more recently, maybe just taking the covers on and off somehow set it right.

Can you or somebody post a flick of how it looks inside seated, please? I tried just now and there is a little resistance, just want to make sure everything looks right compared to my unit before using more force.

Thanks

Can you take a pic and we could tell you more precisely?
Here's what it looks like might be kind of hard to see, it's basically just resting on top of the bracket and if I push straight down there's some resistance there:

I guess just push left to right and downward? The last thing I need is to break something and be out of this SSV for another week or two just my luck.

Edit: OK might have got it slid it all the way down albeit with a little force and it went down. It is now touching I believe 1 or 2 of the screws is this alright or should I pull it up slightly? The white heating element isn't touching anything was sure to check for that. Also the heating element now sits perfectly in the middle of the heating cover where remember my old picture above it was crooked a bit.

Awesome so for future reference it's good to kinna angle it backward and push from the back down rather than swivel left to right? Now here's to finally enjoying it hopped out the shower making some eggs/biscuits/gravy while it's burning off anything from repairs at the factory, then we will have some 1-on-1 time after together.:D:brow::p

Either way, just don't force it if it doesn't want to go. If your gong ever gets stuck, just cool down try releasing again gently, if no success heat and repeat. Stuck gongs with direct vape attachments are usually easy fix, some stuck gongs can be tricky though.

So I picked up an SSV, hammer black with yellow base. Black and yellow whip/Heater cover. Black and yellow custom mouthpiece. It looks awesome, but i can't get it to rip. I understand draw speed, but I can't seem to get the bud hot. I have the SSV on full temp and it's still not blowing thick clouds. I get decent size, but not very thick. I am getting bigger hits from my PAX. The bud I have is definitely on the moist side though. Any suggestions?

Sounds like your unit is the color of a YellowJacket, or a Bee.. I love black and yellow.

You get decent size, but not very thick.,...
my advice:
Settle for decent size for now, and become very medicated.... and stay calm... and do it daily.
You soon will blow Fog from every pore if you wish.
Just get used to your new tool and have fun, and clouds will come.
WHY?
An Uncle Vito Analogy....
You get your motorcycle.. and are excited... and want to pop a wheelie.
You take off great... and burn rubber, but DANG....
you can't get that front wheel off the ground.
You do not obsess.. You keep driving , because it is transportation, and although
there is no great adrenalin rush, you arrive at your planned stop every time.
Do it every day for a few months, and you will be "spinnin' donuts" (not an Uncle V recommended activity)
Just vape often, and vape well... the clouds are a-comin'

Is there any chance your heating element is too low?

I recently received my new SSV and I'm still messing with the temperature setting. I've generally been at around 2 or 3 o clock. My ABV is still pretty light and a bit green at the end. I have used an SSV for years at a friend's, and I have a Firefly vaporizer. With the Firefly my ABV is generally more brown than what I am getting with the SSV. Also, I tried it through my percolator bong and found myself wanting to crank up the heat more. I am getting supremely medicated, however. Any thoughts? :)

It sounds like it's running okay, maybe a bit cool which has to do with the position of the heater element within the glass cover; generally how far out it protrudes from the mounting system and how close the end of the element is to the glass on top if that makes any sense. Careful because it's hot and electrical and delicate yada yada. If this doesn't make any sense now, that's okay it will someday!

When I look inside the heater cover hole, the heating element is just out of view, right behind the lip where the glass curves down. Should this be higher? I tried to adjust things last night

I watched this, and pulled up on my heating element. Now when I look in the hole (standard heater cover) I can see the very tip of the heating element. Up high enough?

I can't try it yet! I have to go to work, and I think the testing process might be a bit much for me to stroll into work. Ha! Hopefully that solves the issue.

thanks for that i needed to adjust mine after it took a few tumbles off a table because of the handsfree cover and my clumsyness, mine doesnt sit straigt anymore and i can see its not centered in the airhole.

Will reposition according to the video thanks

edit: vitolo as a rider i definilty agree with your analogy

I know, its a DBV, but for demonstration purposes it has to do. I positioned it according to the video, as far up as possible without the heater touching the cover.

I had mine up higher like that, but couldn't tell if it was touching the glass, so moved it down a bit. Will check results after work. Thanks!

Obviously the view is different because I have the SSV standard heater cover.
