Cheers mate.

I tried it 3 different solo settings with the results below. Used the same amount and type of herbs for all -

1. Started at 190 C (setting 3 on the solo) got about 4 (10 second) draws. All the draws produce good light milky colour. After the 4th draw I don't see any vapour. Is that normal? Even if I bumped up the setting to 4 or 5 same situation, no visible vapour.

2. Started at 195 C (setting 4 on the solo), got the same result, even when I notched it up to 5 or 6

3. Started at setting 5 and worked my way up to 7 and same results as the above.

All 3 resulted in the same high, about 45 mins before it dies out, ofcourse this differs with tolerance

Confused if I'm doing this wrong or I just use any setting and a bowl will only result in 4 vapour (milky) draws, before I have to refill ?
Sounds similar to my experiences with low quality herbs. Pretty normal. Lower your tolerance and dream of better herbs mate... ;)

Thanks a lot for all the responses and tips... Much appreciated

What color is your abv (vape poo), when done ?

I use my Solo with medium ground goods starting at 3 and ramping to 4 within the 12 minute battery session, then I give it a little stir with a toothpick and restart on level 5 until it doesnt taste pleasant to me (popcorn'ish like)... my vape poo when done is tanned or just starting to turn chocolatey brown and will crumble to dust between two fingers. I then dump it and am in my preferred headspace. Some will eat their abv.... I toss it in a can and dump it in my compost myself as I hate the taste ;)
After the session the ABV is light brown and definitely crumbly.
The session I get lasts only 2-3 mins, cause it's only 3-4 (15 second) draws before I can't see any vapour (which I assume means it's done)

If you could get enough materials then bubble bags or even oil could be your friend as well.
Material is not a problem can get heaps and it's cheap. I'm not sure I understand what bubble bags or oils are, or how to make them

SOOOO great to be back with the solo. Out of ever single portable this has to be the most reliable Ive come across that has excellent battery life, taste, and big ass clouds. I wont ever be selling my solo again!
I use a SOLO everyday!
In fact I have 2.
My plan is to get the latest version.
I have other vAporizers I love.
However to have SOLO'S everywhere is so medicating!

So is this the only site for accessories? Or the only one worth using?
Also when you guys load a bowl, do you keep the material below the edge of the stem or kinda load it over the rim for a better contact? (IMO).
For the high efficiency stems yes because they make them. If you don't want the high efficiency stem they also have regular stem gongs which will also work, most people are after the PVHES though. I like to push my material under the rim of the stem, I don't want it touching the heater directly.

You won't get these parts in Australia. If you are looking for a straight water tube, theyoyokid1 on ebay has the Pinnacle Water Tube for $79AUD + $34 postage, and Planet Vape has the F-Bomb water tube for $109CAD + $10 or $20 postage. Check out the thread comparing these two tubes.

The glass adapter isn't necessary but is nice. The 14mm one is what you will need, either the standard one or the one with the "high efficiency" mods. The tubes pair well with the solo stealth adapter from PV as well, although care is needed because of its thinness.

If you don't need the portability of the straight water tubes, PV has a couple of cheap Black Leaf bubblers that I hear good things about. There is one without a stand that needs a 14mm adaptor and another that needs an 18mm adaptor. Both are about $80 IIRC.

Cheers

Thank you for the information, I will order one off ebay I think. I've just added some screens to my Solo, which has stopped the mouthful of chunks.

Yeah I wish they included screens with them. Definitely needed. By the way, in case you bought bigger screens and trimmed them, the size is 1/2 inch. A lifetime supply can be bought for $5 or $10 on ebay.

An update on my experience with Aroma-Tek and the Arizer Solo:

First one I bought was from the M1C1 lot, worked for a week or so, and the heating element died. Turned it on, started to heat for a few seconds, turned itself off. Sent it back to Aroma-Tek, and they promptly replaced it with a new one (one week turnaround), which was unfortunately another M1C1. Second one worked for a week or so, then same problem, heating element died again, same symptoms as first Solo. Sent it back to Aroma-Tek again, requesting that they not send me another M1C1. This time they responded with three options: They offered to (1) send me a new one from and older lot (M1B), (2) send me a new one from their new shipment of Solos which will arrive in a week, or (3) issue a refund.

I opted to wait a week for one out of the new shipment. What do you guys think? Was that the right decision?

So the whole thing has been frustrating, but I have to say that Aroma-Tek has been very responsive with very good customer service. Each time, they responded promptly and offered to make good on the purchase. I would def buy from them again.

Unfortunately, the other frustrating thing is that when I do get my new Solo, I won't have anything to put in it, but that's another story. The Mass. dispensaries should open on June 1, and I will be the first in line!

I think that either decision would have been fine. There does seem to be less faults being reported in this thread for the M1D's compared to the M1C's, which would make sense, as new features were being introduced at this time. Perhaps the bugs were being worked out by the M1D run.

This is just a (not so educated) guess though. What I do know is that I'm very happy with my M1D2. And hey, your chances of getting a good one are getting better and better, regardless of the series number.

Cheers

FWIW, my first Solo was an M1C from Aroma Tek, and it arrived non functional-wouldn't charge and continually beeped. They replaced it with an M1D2, which has been working great.

so i forgot my grinder at my buddies place last night and wasnt able to grab it before snowboarding this morning so i ended having to vape 'hippy picked' stems but to my suprise it worked perfectly fine! the flavour was stupid good, for sure better then with grounded meds! im just shocked at how well it vaped still though, the ABV came out a nice dark even colour after running it on 7 for five mins. it really makes me curious if i even need to grind up my buds in this thing now :o
Grinder are over rated.
I have them However whole flower nuggets hand broken is enough for my liking.

that may be true but when i use grinders it makes me feel like im going to extract most of the thc in the materials. more surface area better extraction.
More surface area applies to vapes than need it like the Launch Box. You don't actually need to grind your flower down to get an even thorough extraction. Ive done a few stems with coarse grind or just a nug in there and it does work well. The material comes out looking vaped and crushes easily revealing a uniform browning of the full bud. I find that clouds are easier achieved with a uniform grind though. Plus half the fun of it is having your own personal ritual right? I did a couple hand grind stems and then one through my Sharp Stone. So fun being able to change so many variables!

You cloud chasers!
Cool go for the thick white clouds.
For me I'm into the blue clouds.
NIRVANA!
I grind sometimes.
Whole flower nuggets lightly broken for me is complete sweet flavor!
Courser the better.
