The Lotus Vaporizer

I just know I don't want to mess with a torch while I'm out and about, plus the Lotus could have a cool design, where it comes apart in pieces (for easy cleaning/main thence/replacement parts), and a torch part could be interchangeable. Or, we could have a different heating element all together (I just love the vapor PRODUCED by the torch...night and day to other vapes of its size). The device would still appear to be very simple, with lots of cool stuff going on behind-the-scenes... kind of similar to the Lotus we have now when you really think about it ;-)

May i suggest you complement your Lotus with a Hammer. It applies to your problem and the Lotus will fulfiil other duties. I'm sure they can coexist peacefully, my Vaponic and my Lotus do. ;)

I just did a full bowl in my Lotus, oddly i never tried it... and i am LIT! Best part: It is still green. :p

@SSVUN~YAH yes, just keep the flame at 5/8''.

I thought about the hammer...but it seems too big and awkward. And I've heard that butane can be tasted sometimes...

I actually have the hammer in addition to the Lotus, and switched back to using it as a complement to the Lotus today. Its actually really small at 5.25" long, and the top is only 2" wide. Only sticks up an inch above the top of my hand while using it. The only downsides to the hammer for me is even after the first ~30 second heatup, its kind of a primer hit. On the second and subsequent hits though I am able to fully milk my tube with really thick vapor. once you reach the sweetspot it hits with huuuuuge clouds. I prefer the lotus for the 2 second heat up for hits, since I can finish a bowl way quicker and its more convenient for 1 hit now, and 1 hit later. I love both though, even though I use the Lotus more frequently.

That's helpful info thanks! Sounds like the hammer has a lot of pros! And pretty small, too. But I don't like waiting for heat up anymore :-p Could you imagine a lotus more in line with the hammer's pros, but with the (very) fast heat up time? I sold all my vapes except the lotus, because waiting for a vaporizer to heat up kind of got spoiled for me :)

Off topic, but have you guys ever vaped using WPA with flavored water in your bubbler? Just for fun, I used berry flavored water, and it's delicious! Doesn't overpower the herb, either.

I use La Croix brand water, it is just 2 ingredients, carbonated water and natural flavor. Peach pear is my favorite:science:. I don't use it with everything, just when vaping lower grade stuff and wand hashes/oils that i make. Feels wrong to cover up the flavor of the really nice tasting stuff:\.

I have this harbor freight torch http://t.harborfreight.com/micro-torch-42099.html
That I use daily and used on my coil, is it too powerful for the lotus? TIA :peace:
I believe so but not absolutely sure either, have a torch that is slightly smaller than that one and still don't use it with my Lotus. My concern is that even with a 5/8" size flame the cone is too wide/powerful compared to the 4" tall jet torch lighters. EDIT: When drawing I suspect if held close to top plate it could radiate overheat the cap and carbonize the top layer of herb in bowl (uneven abv), and if held away it could still overheat the vapor cap wood. Please let us know what you find if you try it.

I have torched my hot plate pretty hard without drawing but I couldn't notice any hints of radiation to the load, not even a wisp of vapor… That third plate seems to do an amazing job!

EDIT: I evaporated my cleaning ISO tonight and had about ten pieces of cotton full of oil! Lasted me all night!!! Not bad of a taste either (I passed it through a coffee filter first…)! Lotus is doing an amazing job with oil as well...

works great very simple learning curve (both torch and lotus):)

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
First bowl in. Basically what everybody has said is true. It's smaller than I thought, The old rituals feel familiar with it, mates well with a water piece, etc etc.

It's all true. I really liked the hits I got from it. I was amazed at how little green it takes and how fast it is to get high. Taste was great. I did combust on my last pull, but that was me stretching the limits.

Overall, I think it is a great vape. It's not gonna replace my LSV as my heavy hitter or my Vap 2 for taste. But it will probably become my daily driver. I like it that much.
