I've come to really like the transparency of mine. Enough that I can see how much bud I have in there without having to open it... Cuz you know as soon as the seal breaks the dank stank spreads everywhere! As for the seal, when I open it, usually pulling the top cap straight up also brings up the glass insert... So the seal is obviously working.

(Minor edit: as the outside of the glass has gotten a little dirty, the seal breaks when unscrewing the top.)

But now I have more than one strain and can't figure out which one to put in... Gonna have to put a nice order in when you have those bigger jyarz ready :)

I'm thinking that the reason that the Jyarz is dank-proof is the insert - a natural material gasket that molds itself over the glass rim, and which recovers from that molding when it is opened.
I think the CVault gasket is a synthetic "rubber" (i.e., plastic) that cannot mold/recover.
I've gone entirely to glass jars & Jyarz.
I'm sorry Enchantre, but I have to correct/clarify a few things here... JyARz are now using a Buna/Nitrile rubber gasket, I think mostly due to Latex allergies. AFAIK Aldo is still looking for a better option, some sort of silicone hopefully... one that doesn't attract every piece of lint, dust, and herb flake like a magnet.

I believe the seal on the C-Vault is a food grade silicone and may even be "high-temp" for whatever reason. These rubbers should all have about the same quality of seal, the big difference in these products is the thickness of the rubber. JyARz are using a much thicker gasket, that's what is molding itself over the rim for a great seal.

Why would i throw my weed in the ocean?

I don't know? But plastic products at the end of their useful lives get thrown in the trash and then frequently end up in the ocean for one reason or another. JyARz are modular. You can replace the inner glass-core and gaskets and its like new...you keep using the protective outer sleeve and cap. And we also use recycled milk jug material to make the outer plastic sleeve, by doing so we reduce plastic waste. The plastic cap and sleeve are very rugged and should last a life time.

Last we donate 1% of sales to ocean plastic trash research, toward better understanding the impact of plastic waste on the marine ecosystem.

Since you have set out to make a "green" product, would it be possible to ship orders with paper-only packing materials? I think that would be a nice touch. And we all know how durable JyARz jars are.

Whenever I mail anything, I use only paper when I can. And I save ALL my packing material from other shipments and re-use them.

Just sayin'.

We ship using bio-degradable "peanuts" and recycled cardboard. We are looking at even more ecologically sounds methods but because there's glass in each box we have to be very careful about what we use. Trust we're always looking at options and your input is noted!

Any idea if there will be a deal when the larger jyarz are released?
Maybe a buy two get one free or something?

Our BOGO/Double your Order deals are promotional in that we don't spend much on advertising and instead spend most of our money on making the product as good as it can be with the hope that in time the word will spread and the profits and success will follow. This year has been a VERY EXPENSIVE YEAR for us with a ton of investment in new products. We have to balance cash flow and promotions but if things are going well we may do another BoGo at some point but I just can't be more specific at this point.

Oh and here's a photo of the new larger size glass-core insert...we've submitted patent applications so I've started publishing some of what's in store for the Spring product release:

Thanks to SasNW for sending me a jyarz. I am surprised at how durable and easy it is for the glass to slip out. This little thing sure does keep the smell intact. I got some YODA OG and man the minty, piney, familiar smell is gone. Can't even find a leak. This is awesome! Now anyone with a trained beagel or labrador should test this out and see if they can sniff it out. This would be perfect for travel especially through airports. Not saying it will work, just a speculation.

@JyARz Any photos or dimensions of the new smaller size concentrate glass inserts?

I'll post the concentrate version soon.

Thank you and I hope you're right! But I do have a good feeling about them...

Really can't recommend taking a full JyAR through airport security. A customer did it inadvertently because he forgot it was in a bag he used but again NOT RECOMMENDED!

Thanks! I think you'll find that the quality and durability is top notch. And because they are modular (as are all JyARz) they will last you a very very long time! I think it's a great value.
I used to think spending more than $10 for containers was foolish. I would have never thought I'd be waiting and willing to spend $22 a pop for one. Mason jars were my MO!

Thinking I'll need to nab two of the big boys and two more small containers. That's for the personal stash anyways. Might gift a few of the smaller ones to a bud tender and a few friends

I'm thrilled to count you among the converted! I'm working on a new tag like something like:

JyARz ... glass only better!

Does it suck? Thoughts?

Impressed with the two that I just received...quick shipping! Exactly what I expected, and I will be buying a few of the larger ones in April

Always so happy to hear from a new and satisfied customer. Glad we "delivered" both literally and figuratively! Thanks for your support.

Wow, all these new satisfied customers. Welcome to the Jyarz club. As far as smell and dogs, my dog can smell it if you want to know. This may be a factor of the oils on my hands and transferring to the outside of the jyarz. I will say even with the transfer it is a lot harder for them to sniff them out then alllllllllllllllllllll the other stuff I have.

Pretty amazing...the word is really starting to spread, it's tangible!

And I think the real test would be to load it up, then wash it (totally water proof) with some kind of serious detergent to remove any residue from the outside of the container.

There are very clear laws (Cntl'd Substance Act) banning "concealment" devices thus JyARz are jars, not designed to conceal anything. But it would be interesting to know just how tight those seals really are!

Do you think iso would do the trick or soap and water? I don't want to mess up my finish hehe. I am willing to try it. I will leave residue more so then normal but not blatant on one and clean the other and ask doggie to find the herb.

This is pretty informal, so sure what the heck go with soap and water. Let's see what happens ;-)
