Thank you @ataxian @Pipes @Burken

I just wanted to make sure my unit was A-Ok. It's nice having a place like FC to call home! Good people, Greater knowledge.

So far the fiancé and I love the solo... Outside of the not so long battery life. I honestly don't care about the warranty, where do I find a more robust battery that won't fry the unit? And is it a simple install?

If any one has an answer for that could you compare the battery life to the Stock batt?

Sorry if I'm rattling off to many questions... Just trying to make the most of my purchase.

You can contact @CentiZen for a replacement battery .

When I first got my M107 over 2 years ago .
I could get 2 and 1/2 hours of battery life on levels 5 and 6 .
That's straight usage , meaning when ever it beeped off ,
I turned it back on . It was good for movies/sports viewing
on TV ...etc . That's the bar I've set for portable's battery life .

btw , I like your username .

I never hit a vapor brothers before but I had a knockoff and the solo draw is not comparable at all, it is much more restricted. Don't let that turn you away though, the restriction is helpful because it forces you to slow the draw down. With my VB knockoff I always had to concentrate on my draw speed in order to actually get vapor all while preventing combustion, of course I was new to vaporizing, hasn't discovered FC yet and didn't quite grasp the concept of slower draw means higher temperature. with the solo it's like you put it auto drive sit back and enjoy the ride.

Ok peeps, I have been MIA but think I might be back now:lol:. I don't know if that is a good think or a bad thing for all of you or myself :lmao:. I am glad to see all the newbies were taken care of very well but all the wonderful experienced members.

I am a bit worried still while reading about to much air flow on the new production of solos. I used ed's stem last night for two session with and without the pnwt and hated it. I can't get a good vape going. It wasn't the fact that I had almost no visible vapor, but the fact that my head hurts using a wide open stem. I also didn't get medicated at all. I got visible vapor when I bumped it up to 5 two more then I normally do and then yes 6 omv. I can't see how the new more open airflow would be good for me as I would have to find a way to restrict it. I think this is funny as I complained so much when I first got it that I was sucking my brains out.

@Caligula , please if you do the can mod, not beer can please, don't use a can opener. Use one of those ones that take the top of the can off so there won't be any sharp edges. Remember I have a cup mod somewhere in this thread maybe twice and planetvape has one on there site. I think if I can find someone that drinks soda I may just try that one for fun to see how the fit works. I might even be able to put the lid back on the way I am thinking.

I have a question which one of you might be able to help me with, as well. When using it normal (not inverted, that is) how do you avoid your herb falling back into the heating element?

You can use screens ,
Some put a glass screen in the oven , others try the double screen method inside the glass stem . Sandwiching the herbs , so it doesn't fall .

You can also tamp down your herbs giving it a tighter pack .
Try a whole nug sometimes too .

Use it at higher temps and slow your draws for bigger clouds .

Dreamrr - You are one of our most experienced and knowledgeable vapists who is all-too-familiar with our beloved Solo. That said, I wish you would communicate your very valid observations and concerns with Arizer directly, as they may have overshot their modifications on this latest version. One extremely important aspect of the Solo that you so estutely bring up is the already existing array of accessories that suit the prior incarnation so well. So why change the game wherein those wonderfully suited accessories no longer work well at all with the current version? Things were working optimally before. It wasn't broke, so why fix? I know there are many shades of grey that can be argued here, but I think you hit the bullseye on a black & white target. Please, on behalf of Solo'ists everywhere, be our emissary! :peace::2c:

Ok, more MFLB like?

Ripstar,
I have had my Solo for a while now, still loving it. I too think that the battery doesnt last as long as I hoped (it does take me a long time to finish a bowl though, 2 12-minute sesssions generally, 3 if I'm distracted. This ends up with me only being able to smoke 2, maybe 3 bowls before recharging). Can't wait for Pipes' AIO+ to get here, the previous one unfortunately got lost in the mail :( (good CS from Pipes' though, he ended up making more charger than anticipated, but got to work on it quickly and made sure it worked well before shipping out). I am also loving my accesoires, though admittedly I don't seem to use the Weedstar Precooler much, somehow the GonG connection doesn't seem airtight (this to me sounds unlikely, but I wouldn't know what else it could be). I also seem to have a hard time getting Eds stem to produce big clouds, I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong there also. And don't get me wrong here, I freaking love this thing it's just the details I'm working out now! I have a question which one of you might be able to help me with, as well. When using it normal (not inverted, that is) how do you avoid your herb falling back into the heating element? This seems to be happening to me at least every session and probably multiple times per session if I bother to actually look inside while vaping.

@The_Herbn_Legend I am quite sure that the FC member @CentiZen makes battery packs that have a longer battery life. I will be looking into this myself when my current battery dies (hopefully this will be a long time once I receive Pipes' PA).

Hey there. While I wish every battery powered device in my life boasted a longer battery life, we have to be reasonable. The Solo gives much longer battery life than the Da Vinci, Pax, or most other similar portables. The way you are going through your bowls is not something you can really blame on the Solo; 2 bowls on a single 12 minute session is very possible with no undue rushing to give you an idea of what it can do.

Ed's stem take more heat IME. While you can happily start a glass stem at 2 I wouldn't start a wood stem at anything less than a 4, and would certainly finish up on 7.

It doesn't really matter if your material falls into the bowl, just invert the unit and dump it out.

Speaking purely in hypotheticals here, why would one prefer a soda can with its top cut instead of a simple coffee cup like pictured below, which would similarly obscure the Solo but by itself imply nothing unusual? Far less shady. Plus you get a comfy handle.

Hey guys noobie here forum wise and Solo.

Just had some questions about the Solo. I have had it for three days now and can't seem to find that sweet spot. I would like to save all my abv to mke edibles so I have been trying to find the right temp to vape and what not. Currently, I set it around 5ish and take a few pulls before turning it off. I might use it again once or twice taking a few pulls in each session. I dont seem to be getting much until my material is dark brown. Im trying to vape slow at around 3 or 4 at times and Im not getting much vaper. Not sure what Im doing wrong but I need to make this work.

Also I am starting to experience pain in my throat. I assume this is from the Solo. Should I try a Percolator?

Thanks in advance.

I would respectfully suggest that you at least review the prior 20-30 thread pages. There is much useful info that should guide a range of methods that will steer you to your sweet spot. Come back with questions if you still have some then. You'll get it for sure!

I'm already doing so. I should know this, I'm no forum noob. Ah damn, I must be stoned. Also, as Im sure I will find some good info on the topic, I just felt I'd get the most up to date information from people that are currently here and using the device. I say this since this thread is quite old.

There is really no new info on the topic of methods for best performance. The info is there like treasure to be dug up. The info you will find is tried and true. Going back at least a few weeks will reward you with the treasure you seek. I wrote much of it myself...not too long ago (hint). OK...go back to January 20th. I'm sure you would not ask our veterans to rewrite the master guide over and over again would you? Seek and ye shall find. You're welcome;)

i've been at this for a few weeks with the solo and ime [as someone mentioned a few pages back] packing your herbs looser will get you more vapor even at lower temps i.e. level 4.

also, experiment with different grinds fine and course, plus try drawing slower. :peace:

Good points sir, let the digging begin.
Makes finding the treasure all the more satisfying ;)

What I like to do is pack my stems and let them sit in the Solo when I select temp and let it sit an extra 15-20 seconds to heat soak the stem and material.

The first hit is usually really tasty and light on vapor because the heat getting transferred vapes everything in the range starting with lower temp stuff. If you ever notice your stem fogging up on the first hit, that's the moisture in the material getting vaped. First hit is the tease, let it recover for 10-15 seconds and start the second hit. I kinda hit slow for a second or two to draw the heat to the load, then give it hell.

So in reality you get terpenes and water vapor in the first hit or hit and a half. The cannabinoids start vaping en mass when there's not much else in the lower temp ranges to take up the energy (heat). Sometimes I vape at 2 and it turns it a light light golden brown. Turn it to 5 and i can pull some dense cannabinoid-laden vapors.

You mention coming back to the load later, have you considered reducing load size to help finish stems faster/smaller loads vaped? A dome screen or two can do that. I've got two set up and can comfortably load .05-.10 g and clear in 4 hits.

any good online retailer who sells the honeycomb and disc glass screens that fit the stock bowls?

Hard to say, they vary in sizes and some won't fit while other do. Seems like they're from one or two sources, too. If you can find them locally maybe take a clean stem in to check the fit?

Oh yeah, big shout out to Planet Vape. They shipped my HE GonG on Thursday and it was delivered today, a day earlier than what they told me. Works quite well. I actually don't like the o-ring. The draw actually becomes too restricted for me! My Solo seems to have a pretty good seal as it is, so I will keep it in my drawer in case I need it later on.

@Snappo . first as I recall arizer through the grapevine denied making the airflow better even though pv said they did. I shall compose a letter though as it can't hurt. I need to ask someone in the know with arizer if they have found out anything new since this thing came out. As of that time they denied all we found except for the plug use and charge option.

Dreamrr - despite what Arizer is claiming, or not, I have seen close-up photos of the most recent oven, and the holes are definitely larger than my M1A4. Now, what effect this has I'm not sure, but my guess is that larger holes are meant for greater convective air flow. If that is truly the case, PVHES turbo stems for example need to go back to the drawing board to tone down the flow, OR, we need to modify our draw effort further to reduce it accordingly. Some folks feel the PVHES stems afford too much flow to begin with on prior Solo iterations, so... You are, I feel, on precisely the right track, and Arizer needs knowledgeable experienced feedback such as yours.
That's why I called you out:nod::luv:!

I noticed that the HES for me has made it so that the airflow is less restricted but I think my vapor is slightly thinner. Haven't coughed surprisingly with it, but I've only vaped 4 .05g loads so far. No o-ring.
Quetzalcoatl - exactly right! Personally, I enjoy using the turbo PVHES, and have my technique down just fine so that I get great vapor no matter what - I'm probably in the minority on that. Since what is good for me is not necessarily so with others, they should be given fair consideration nontheless.

I think my biggest problem is worrying about having decent abv material for edibles. If this wasn't a thing, I'd be giving my Solo all hell. I wanna make sure what I end up with is use-able but at the same time I wanna enjoy my sessions and not worry about burning through my material too quickly. I have tried looser packs as well as smaller loads. I do have a screen in there as well. I know there is a learning curve to it but I just feel like I'm going through my stash too quickly when it suppose to reduce my usage.

Also guys, I have the newest model (M1C-M108). I saw something in this thread that newer models can be used while charging, is this true? And is it worth it to get a PVHES stem since I also saw something that the newer models have corrected a problem. Sorry, doing my best to search for my answer but sometimes its hard to find exactly the answer you need.
