Arizer Solo

Just got my replacement Solo (hurray). No time for extensive thoughts, but I just wanted to let you know that, despite both being genuine M1D2-model vapes, the new one is subtly different from the old one-
  • There is less thread on the screw-on cap bit, i.e. fewer turns required to fix it on.
  • The finish seems glossier/tougher.
  • The oven bit is tighter than on the last one, i.e. it was much harder to pop its cherry (apologies) with a stem.
I mention this only because I've seen disagreement on whether it's problematically tight- this new one almost was. I'd definitely have worried about forcing it had I not already seen how it all worked.

One thing common to both vapes, and which I've not seen mentioned- you know if you remove the metal cap, the heater is fixed down with four screws and two little plastic clips?

On both of my Solos, only one clip is holding the heater in. the other hasn't quite come high enough above the lip of the heater to hold it in place. Both vapes are solid feeling, and though a natural-born meddler, I've not felt the need to try to correct this.

Oh, and for the M1E2 they need to spend a few more pennies on the silver buttons. Tinny, in a world of wood.

Ok new question... What's the standard batt life on a full charge? I'm getting 3-4 12 min on 4-5 until reaching level 1.
I found you get around 6-7 sessions per full charge. Taking to level 1.
The light indicators seems to stay on levels 6 and level 3 for longer than the other levels do to the discharge curve.

Well I'm no OF or Pipes but thats what I'm getting out of my unit as well.
Also, has anyone figured out a way to make a tighter seal in the units that can't hold the O-rings?
I've looked around for an answer but can't seem to find any...

Someone had mentioned this idea a few pages back and I think most blew it off.
I thought it was dandy for the job. And with all the texture it shouldn't block air flow neither.
Have to cut it yourself but would get many tries to get it right..?

Notice I had already cut an 1" or so off as I use to help unscrew my RBA ecigs when they get hard to turn off and need a better grip. (AND my wife never even noticed...shhh)

I am so glad to hear this. I thought I screwed it up somehow when I put in the HC battery. If you look at it from the side where the clip doesn't go over the top, is the plastic malformed? On the solo I bought it wouldn't lay flush, even after I got the clip to go over the lip with a clamp. I'd take a picture, but I bought the solo as a birthday gift and have already given it to him.

This "non-perfect" fit has been mentioned many times and has proven not to be a concern. The consensus is the clips are likely used in the manufacturing process as to partially get the heater aligned and do nothing once the screws have been installed.
Most units seem to sit a little cocky but work fine.

So I cut an O-ring out of one of those things? Or am I missing something?
Feel free to think of me as a 4 year old when explaining things to me;)

Hey guys, what is the fastest you have blasted a solo bowl. Do you think its possible to decently extract a heat soaked bowl on 7 in or around a minute? Perhaps with a shorty stem?

It's OK as I can be confusing at times if not most of the time. The oven mitt is just for the material. You need to cut a hole in a hole. The textured part is quite thick but there is a thinner part where it's stamped as well.
This would be if you need a thicker O ring of course.
If you were needing thinner, then you should just sand the O ring you have.
Hope this helps clear it up somewhat..?

I'll deff pick some up, thanks brother. And I think I was pulling way to f'in hard because now it isn't doing it... Maybe it was because the battery was basically dead. Forgive me, I'm heavily medicated.
If that's not a testament to this product idk what is.:dog:

When your battery is close to empty, the solo can do those big temp drops. Look at the charge light if it happens again; it will be glowing red.

I exchanged with arizer's cs and got this answer; a working pack will give you 5-10 12min sessions running empty. You have a couple or more sessions after there is no more light on the battery level check.

18mm PHVES GonG and you have your first water path set up .

From here the addiction begins unless it's already started?

@Caligula has a nice glass piece worth investigating?

Thank you for posting that. I am new and don't know exactly what I need,
but that looked like a good deal, so I got it. I checked out the PHVES GonG on PlanetVapes and they were out again but due in next month. I have not gotten my Solo yet just ordered Sunday. So looking forward to it. I picked it because of the good things said about it on FC. Currently have to contend the my Da Buddha, oh what a chore, no mobility....j/k.

Yeah the pvhes sells out quickly in 18mm I've noticed. Don't forget to do a burn-off and let your stems heat soak for a little to get great hits.

Apparently Ryot makes this case in 2 sizes. Are you using the large version?

I checked on the VapeFiend website and the demensions of the one he had = the large one.

Thank you, I will. I am sloggin through the 900 plus pages of comment for ideas.

Thank you @ataxian @Pipes @Burken

I just wanted to make sure my unit was A-Ok. It's nice having a place like FC to call home! Good people, Greater knowledge.

So far the fiancé and I love the solo... Outside of the not so long battery life. I honestly don't care about the warranty, where do I find a more robust battery that won't fry the unit? And is it a simple install?

If any one has an answer for that could you compare the battery life to the Stock batt?

Sorry if I'm rattling off to many questions... Just trying to make the most of my purchase.

I have had my Solo for a while now, still loving it. I too think that the battery doesnt last as long as I hoped (it does take me a long time to finish a bowl though, 2 12-minute sesssions generally, 3 if I'm distracted. This ends up with me only being able to smoke 2, maybe 3 bowls before recharging). Can't wait for Pipes' AIO+ to get here, the previous one unfortunately got lost in the mail :( (good CS from Pipes' though, he ended up making more charger than anticipated, but got to work on it quickly and made sure it worked well before shipping out). I am also loving my accesoires, though admittedly I don't seem to use the Weedstar Precooler much, somehow the GonG connection doesn't seem airtight (this to me sounds unlikely, but I wouldn't know what else it could be). I also seem to have a hard time getting Eds stem to produce big clouds, I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong there also. And don't get me wrong here, I freaking love this thing it's just the details I'm working out now! I have a question which one of you might be able to help me with, as well. When using it normal (not inverted, that is) how do you avoid your herb falling back into the heating element? This seems to be happening to me at least every session and probably multiple times per session if I bother to actually look inside while vaping.

@The_Herbn_Legend I am quite sure that the FC member @CentiZen makes battery packs that have a longer battery life. I will be looking into this myself when my current battery dies (hopefully this will be a long time once I receive Pipes' PA).

Yep, Centi makes battery packs with more juice. Pretty simple install, I saw the video he made of it and I could easily do it. Then again I've been building my computers since I was 15 so some screws and a battery with a simple connector isn't much ;)
