The Vapir Mini BP is the same configuration as the Vapo- 10 AA NiMH cells. Not sure about the connector size. A brand not designed for a vape? What would it be designed for? What kind of connector would it have? People have previously looked into a battery for the PD. Some have looked pretty hard. I haven't heard of anyone finding any alternatives in a convenient size.

anyone have any tips for when your weed is stemy? im not talking stocks or anything, but theres little stems and i found that i wasn't getting as good of hits as i usually do, so figured its the stems. i tested the weed further by smoking it and i got fairly ripped, though not the greatest high, ugggggh couch lock. i tried chopping it up fine, but even that didn't help.

You definitely don't want stems in your PD mixture.

The airflow is restricted as it is... a few good stems and it ruins the even cook for me, I try to remove them all.

I have one of these http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-CPI100B-Cordless-Supply/dp/B000SZVMRW I just ordered a myrtlezap which should be in by the end of next week. As soon as I get it ill post how long the battery actually lasts. at 7.2 watts according to the formula on the site it should last right about 6 hours. but like I said I'll give you the actual results once I test it.

yea i try to keep stems out but when all you have is that kind of weed, you got no other choice. i tried keeping as much of the stem out as possible, but it didn't help, still stemy. i smoked the last of it(almost) yesterday, and picked up some yesterday as well that seems to not be as stemy, so hopefully it works better now. but no tips for stemy weed other then get the stems out? shitty when stems are everywhere lol

I honestly just chop it up ultra fine, verging on the consistency of sand.

PD doesn't not like stemmy herb :(

Yeah, I too grind it really fine. I use a coffee grinder and get what stems I can out first. But then I grind the shit out of all of it and it works pretty well. Nothing worse than going to tamp a PD stem and hit a stem so it won't pack!

What's the best way to apply buzz butter to the unit? I searched but couldn't find anything detailed.

Coat the units rounded body with :buzz:(buzz butter) and once all of the wooden body is covered push all the butter upwards in effort to get the top of the unit :buzz:'ed. I dont like to directly apply butter to the top so I just use the excess on the wood to get the job done up stairs. Oh yea and to butter the bottom leather just heat up a small glob on the side of the unit, or whatever works to soften the butter, and apply to the leather. Simple as that :cool:


....just make sure you dont apply too much...a little bit goes a long way.

EDIT//////......Towel buff? Oh no no no....No need for that. ONLY reason I would use a towel like that is if I used too much buzz butter...and that wouldn't be too good of an experience :doh:

No, don't buff with a towel. Use your shirt. Well, it works for me. :shrug: Seriously, why would you not buff? It makes it slicker and shinier. Do you wax your car and not buff? I do leave the BB on for a while, but then it always gets the rubdown with some kind of cloth. The wood goes from slightly tacky and dull to slick and shiny.

Anyone else tried this?

Ive been experimenting with ABV. So I extracted some oil from the ABV and then let it pretty much evaporate down to thick goo.

Next I packed the first half of my PD stem with nice herb, I then took a tiny bit of the oil and worked it into the bowl,( not too easy since the stuff is sticky as hell) then i topped(or bottomed) off the bowl with more herb.

Results:

- Massive Clouds ( choke-able type) :o I let the stem warm up for about 30 seconds before i took a draw
- depending on how u hit ur PD u get more hits ( I can usually finish off one bowl in one good pull.....WOK THOSE LUNGS!) With the above method i get about 3 or four of the same type pulls :D
- A very deep cerebral high( i guess that all depends also on the type of herb used to make the oil) Might even give you a head ache if ur not used to sooo much goodness at once. :ko:

After:

* Clean up wasnt bad - The reason i packed the oil between herb was to limit any drip-age ( i had zero drip-age)
*Will clog ur screen faster, but not in one sitting

Try it at your own risk......it worked for me though :brow:

p.s.

i know that you can use any ol alcohol to cleanup ur stem in the purple tube, but I use 190 proof Everclear, and I only need to let my stems sit in the alcohol for about a minute beofore they are clean.

i like to let my pd get extra warm inside a heavy winter glove, i even cut a hole in the end of the thumb for the cord to come out. this trick puts the pd in a temp range i like a lot more, hot enough to give massive hits and sedation, not quite hot enough for the taste to be really compromised

edit: also gives it more resistance to cold environment/moving air

That's interesting. Someone had posted a suggestion that I tried last night that I liked alot - puff on the PD as if you're smoking a cigarette but not inhaling, sort of like with a repeated puckering, and then draw the vapor from your mouth into your lungs. The PD seems to "like" that, producing quite a lot of vapor...

ya i tried koozies like tom suggested n the thread, but i think my pd is thinner than most standard units, so it didnt fit very well, and didnt provide much boost in the temp (although the plug i was using was probably going bad, resulting in sub-optimal temps)

im considering removing the fingers (but not the thumb) ans sewing it shut to make it look less weird (hittig a glove :lol: )

i would also like to say if it hasnt been said already (worth reiterating, i havent been keeping recent with pd threads) if your pd isnt getting up to the temp it should, replace the plug. ive had many many plugs go bad on me, ive started just takingthe metal plug out of the housing and soldering straight to that, using electrical tape as a reinforcer. anyway, i digress. if the pd goes cold at all when you set it down or doesnt get up to its usual temp (ie the temp it got yo when it was new) its time to fix the plug. 95% of the time, pd problem=plug problem

ive also taken to using some flexible instrument cable as the cord

There's the post i've been lurking for. I've been using my PD for about a month, after reading of its small usage virtues. I'm a social security guy, and $$ is very close. So usage is a big deal, especially when you have exotic tastes in oils and such. All i needed to hear was someone else trying it. i was afraid it would just clog the screen immediately. It works even better with BHO or QWISO from green unvaped buds. Amazing taste and HUGE clouds. I put a dab on top of a little bed of ground up buds and it's awesome. The best is kif on top of oil on top of buds. No running and clogging especially once you get your technique down. Edit: def. gotta clean your tubes more often though :D

So I ran out of weed, and times were dry. Then I smoke my stash of kief, for two weeks until I ran out of that.

I was wondering if anyone had any tricks for kief vaping in the PD.

What I noticed:
sucking too hard to fill the tube sent some tasty trichomes through the screen and into my mouth.
packing the bowl too full clogged it, and took lungs of steel to rip.
packing the bowl to little would not expose the kief to the temperatures it needed.
