Cooljarz

Dabs are vapor too!
I've been looking for some storage jars, the Jyarz look good, but the tall/slim profile doesn't fit in my storage box as well as the wide/short shape. I have some small glass jars with plastic lids (similar to those sold by specialtybottle.com ), but they're not really odor proof, so I'm losing some of the moisture from my herbs.

Somebody mentioned Cooljarz in a post, so I looked them up, very reasonable prices, claimed odor proof. They are plastic (food-grade polypropylene). Can't find any reviews here or elsewhere as far as their ability to keep freshness in  Anyone have any comments on them?

I've used these for a few years and would recommend them. They're the best screw-top plastic containers available, IMO... and made in the USA. The odor and freshness retention is great for being inexpensive plastic. Not sure about them being completely odor proof, but you're not going to get any better at this price point.

There's a few storage/stash jar threads buried here that should have a little more info for you, did you do a search?

Not to derail your thread, what is wrong with a standard mason jar? They come in many sizes. My favorite before my Jyarz was the 4 oz jelly jars. Still use them for screens.

Would love to be able to find some 8 Oz wide mouths locally. I'd snatch them up in a heartbeat.

Them Cooljars do look pretty neat. But for the price, I'd probably use them for on the go and then just toss it when I'm done, not for storage. IDK, I have a fear of using plastics now that I'm in :luv: with glass.

@Kief, yup, searched and read a bunch. Most info on jyarz, but I would rather something shorter/wider.

@Tweak, those are good. A bit larger than I need though, would rather have as little air as needed.

Glass breaks and isn't discrete if given a glance, those are the factors that led me to CoolJarz. Also they were inexpensive.

I definitely do enjoy my CoolJarz, they don't seem to attract herb particles and kief on the sides as well as my JyAR so I find that to be a benefit. The CoolJar is an easier clean, so far I haven't noticed any issues with alcohol as a cleaning solution. In comparison to JyARz you will notice more sizes on the CJ end, but I do really like the size and feel of a JyAR and the fact that its opaque.

Odor Proof? I feel they work as well as any other storage product I own, I ended up wanting a JyAR and C-Vault even though I already had multiple sized CoolJarz. I know the insides really capture the smell and will retain it (after cleaning). The threads in my opinion are where odor if any would most likely be coming from, I don't think they are pungent, really could only be smelled if its near you. (Like under your nostrils)

I would recommend them. Very little bad things to say about them.

@paytonpenn - have you done any comparisons as far a s which one keeps your herbs fresher? Do the cooljarz seem to retain the moisture?

C-Vault > JyARz > CoolJarz; but the C-Vault has a humidipak, and the JyARz work with two rubber seals one on the cap and one under the glass liner. When you close they press very tightly into the glass. The C-Vault also has a gasket on the lid.

EDIT:
In all honesty I'm not a person concerned with moisture as its never been an issue in all of the time I have had CoolJarz, I only keep herb stored for a month and even at the end I have not noticed any difference in quality if that means anything.

EDIT 2:
I've never had an issue with product going into some state where vaping it doesn't work in any vape and/or a period of time where I thought to myself, "This is grinding so much better now.."

@paytonpenn , I may keep some herbs around for quite a while, that's why I'm concerned about freshness.
Sounds like the cooljarz will work, thanks for the comparison.

These are not well suited for long term storage, I'd say no more than a week... maybe 2. If you want something that will store your herbs longer, I like using the small mason jars with Boveda Humidipaks and stored away from light. I mostly use my CoolJarz on-the-go and if there's anything left inside when I get home... I either use it up soon, or take the lid off and drop the whole thing in a mason jar with a humidipak to be ready for next week's errands.

If you like freshness, try the 62% Humidipaks... they even have a new micro size.
