Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

My re-calibrated EVO arrived yesterday and it was a bit of a let down. My original issues were that the temperature just didn't get as warm as I liked and I would get a red light after every hit. The red light situation has been fixed but the EVO still isn't delivering the punch I am after. My unit doesn't even produce decent vapor until about 2. After letting the unit warm up on max temp for an hour, I still get tan/very light brown ABV. I can actually put the ABV from my EVO on max into my Plus set at 3 o'clock and get two more hits out of it. I just prefer high temperature vapor for a variety of reasons and right now my EVO isn't cutting it.

I am sending it back once again today to see if this issue can be resolved. I was informed that my firmware is up to date with the latest revisions but the vapor production just isn't there. I am seeing videos of users milk up their tubes at 3 and mine on Max really feels like my plus at 1ish. There also seems to be little to no change in temp after 3:30 on the dial. I am a little disheartened but I'm letting VXL take another stab at fixing it. I really hope this can be worked out.

Make sure you try a variety of strains and batches before you give up hope. I personally just picked up two new varieties and one is more potent and I can easily get 1-3 more hits out of it than the other one.

I'm using the same strain in the EVO and the Plus. There is a BIG difference between the Max temp on both units. With the Plus on max temp , .05 of this strain produces one very dense hit with very dark drown ABV. With the EVO using the same amount of material, I get one decent sized hit with ABV that is only slightly tanned and still has a green hue. This is equivalent to about 1-1:30 on the Plus. The air that is passing over my bud through the EVO at max temp is defnintely not over 400F (where i like it).

My HF stand is solid glass? No opening to put an ELB?

Mine is hollow. I had the same thought the other day but I haven't done it yet. :)

have you tried a slower draw speed to see if you can get the ABV darker?

What kind of glass piece are you using? When I first received my EVO I used the HT that came with it and was like WTF?? Where is the milk? This thing doesn't work the way I like. I then used it with my favorite bubbler (much less restricted) and it is MILK galore. At first I thought I needed to be at 3+ on the dial. Everyday I keep going lower on the dial... The secret seems to be low drag/restriction in the glass, decent size glass, plus I also get more milk with a faster draw. (Same as with my original cloud.) A slow pull doesn't = milk in my experience.

For the record, I have the EB Bent Neck HT and a SGW showerdome HT from my original cloud and I much prefer larger, lower drag pieces. Not that they aren't great, just a preference thing.

So Vapexhale and fedex still cant ship to PO Boxes right?

I ask bc im about to have it redirected to my house, but it would save me some hassle if it wasn't necessary.
.
thanks

Just a reminder that comparing temp positions from Cloud + vs EVO isn't an accurate depiction of your entire temp range.

We typically test each return (the oregano test) that goes out to ensure that it has the proper temp range. With that said, your unit does sound like it is running cool and we will ensure the next go around it is working properly.

You can call FedEx and have them re route it to the local Fedex Office for pick up.

Second "AHA!" moment today - my hubby has discovered that you can stash your ELB, between hits, in the top of the hydrofoot! It isn't airtight, but it sure will cut down oxidation losses if you like to spread out your session over several hours (he does). I use the HF for my mouthpiece. I would imagine if you actually used it for an HT, it would have even more of an air-lock effect. Just wanted to share that.

I love my EVO. Have I mentioned how much I love my EVO? Yeah, that much. :)

Cool idea, I've been stashing my ELBs in a silicone 'ashtray'
example:

An easy way I tested this was to place my lips on the bamboo and suck, :)

 Epic dedication

I simply don't get the size of clouds that people are getting on some of their glass. It takes a good two pulls for me to even get a decent cloud. I have it set at around 3 oclock too. I was wondering if my female joint was too big on my piece but it is a 18mm. The Cloud webpage is pretty description limited.

3 o'clock to 12 o'clock to whatever temp you want is working consistently for me, very happy with that advice! I'm getting light brown ABV at 1 and dark at 2, so I think my evo should work for whatever concentrate thing they come up with. I also love the hydratube, I know it's $250 but the opals are great, the turbine is fun, and the ice is smooth. It's just a satisfying piece

But I wish the bottom of the evo didn't have the exposed bamboo, there have been several times I've accidentally put it down on something scary like scissors or utensils and heard a *clink*
On my evo the bamboo glass actually sticks down a bit below the arch in the plastic so I'm thinking about gluing on some kind of base. Magnets would be better though, are there transformers or inductors in the EVO that might be affected by magnetic fields?

I also wish it was a bit more ergonomic. Like an hourglass shape or side grips in the bottom to help keep you from burning your hand. Like this but less pronounced:

Can you explain why? I'm just curious.

The Cloud+ doesn't have a linear dial across the whole range so a majority of the range can be condensed into a smaller range than the EVO

Not sure how you are inhaling but most people are taking really deep inhalations to get it started. Typically the first inhalation or two is mostly just the "flavor" and then after that, the vapor production really kicks in.

Nice post.

Yeah i was thinking of having a dedicated tray of some sort at my vaping station. That way I always have a clean, debris free landing pad for the evo to call home.

Did you order your EVO with a HydraTube?

No. I bought my EVO with the dry mouthpiece to keep it under $500, lol.
But I already owned a Vaporblunt HT I liked a lot.

Unfortunately due to my friend's dumbass mistake that piece is now with a glass blower to be repaired.

I have a Swagger Showercap in the mail while I wait for it to be resurrected! I will probably let my friend who now owns my "OG TIcker" pay the repair costs and then sell it to him cheap :)

On the ABV matter i still get much lighter ABV than with my older Clouds. I am still trying to find out how to get darker overall ABV but they are hitting well.

This thing is a beast. I really think it depends on the stash. Holy crap, I'm knocked out yet again. These tubes feel like bong smoke rips, serious, no joke. Then I look, no combustion, then I taste, no combustion, just deliciousness. Holy crapoly, I'm loving it. And I may have mentioned this, but I think it has better airflow then the original Cloud's. Just need to keep it higher on the dial then the Cloud+ (but something with temperature range, etc. can't compare :-). )

I was eye-ing that showercap in the classifieds as well. Glad it went to a good home. :)

@stonemonkey55 do you have ANY idea when the Swagger Recycler that you guys posted on your IG will be available? All other glass looks so boring after seeing that. :)

The Cloud/Evo is the only vaporizer that outvapes me, and my friends. No joke, my friends have been smoking for years, and after a few tokes on the Evo they are OUT, and done (will not willingly take any more hits). I know the feeling all too well myself, but its nice to see non-vapers enjoying the efficiency of such a wonderful product. VXC has done it again! Now it's time for that portable ;)

My 15ft power cord linked above just arrived.

For $6 I fixed:
  • Heavy cord causing the EVO to tip easily
  • Overly tight power cord connection
The new cord is long, lean, light, and connects much more effortlessly.
I bought this cord yesterday at 2:00 PM and it was delivered via free shipping at 11:00 AM today. Not bad.

I agree that the Evo provides fat rips, but I don't think the airflow is as open as my OG Cloud. The restriction holes are somewhat smaller in the Evo which restricts the airpath more than with the old Cloud IME.

Hey guys I got the evo in and it's amazing!!!

I noticed when I got it in it feels like the internals are loose. Like if you flip it the bamboo moves or something inside it. Also. When it's cooling down it ticks. I'm assuming that's normal because the glass is probably contracting.

Just thought I would post in here and see what advice I get.

Thanks guys

I agree that the EVO does appear to be a little more restrictive than my OG Ticker. Also, it seems that it takes a little longer to feel the effects...not much longer, but it is noticeable.

However...for me...it seems that when the effects start happening, they are definitely stronger than they were with the Ticker. This thing is just kicking my ass every single night!:tup:

my evo is here and kicking my ass. happy camper :)

My first ELB matched the clouds the cloud+ gives me when set to 1 o'clock.

I load the ELB using a slightly heaping 1/8th teaspoon measuring spoon. Perfect load, 2-3 great milky hits everytime. Learned this from my buddy Bob, the evaaaa guy
