hey if you take the Cera MP and slap that bad boy onto the Luna EO core that little bundle of joy would look like a OG rocket from back in the day! TO THE MOON ALICE!

Do you own a LL cart? If so, I would be very interested to hear how it works on the Luna!

Yes. And i think itll work well. I'd have good success with the t1 and cera with the heat so i cant wait let the wait begin!!

Does anybody know the total length in comparison to Cera?

I believe I have a switch problem, the switch gets very hot and vapor production is thin at best. If I switch switches I am at normal vape production and it does not heat up. If I put the questionable switch on a different body it acts the same, hot and little vapor so I do not believe this is a strap issue.

Sound like a switch problem?

Outstanding!!! Great you kept after it diligently enough to find True Enlightenment! I cringe some every time I hear some new owner go '....this thing must be broken' (reminds me of Mel Brooks as the Gov. in Blazing Saddles trying to work the paddle game). IMO far too many guys cop out with 'I must have got one of the bad ones (as if that happens very much at all.....) or 'this vape is bunk' (as if those who make it work are lying) and so on. As the saying goes, "it's a poor Craftsman that blames his tools". You are to be commended IMO, please reap your just rewards in tasty vapor?

While some batteries are definitely better than others here, those 'on the short list' are all just fine really. The worst of them when fully charged will blow the doors off the best when half spent. Not to worry, use any of the top few choices and you'll be fine. In fact, IIRC the NCR18650PD battery is the base Panasonic specified and sold by TV, just repackaged? Go with the AW IMRS, either of the 'factory batteries, Heywoods new favorite (I haven't tried it, but he's never lied to us....yet) and I think you won't regret it. The one above belongs on that list too, IMO.

As to better performance with position, try going dryer, finer grind and tighter pack. I've had that happen if the load shifts in the bowl too much. My thinking is the load is lifting up as a mass and the hot air goes around it?

Keep experimenting and following the good results, it's taken you this far, it won't fail you now. Congratulations!

I like the look too, but understand how some might not. Good to have choices.

The basic difference in length is the length of the end caps. The tubes to the top of the socket for the cart are about the same. As a guess, I'd say we loose a bit over half an inch? It's probably more 'pocket friendly' than that since the nose steps down in diameter more and has a more 'natural profile'?

My guess is this time next month we'll have all sorts of 'family photos' posted here with Lunas in new homes? Adoption is good.

I'm not sure what you're responding to, but yes, marginal switches can rob power (they get hot, rather than the load). They can cause the heater to 'flicker' like a dodgy switch does with a light bulb in your car. If you have Lucas electrics, you know this well....... That's why the foil ball test is so powerful. It changes just that one element, giving consistent contact.

I was asking a question. I believe you also answered said question, thank you. So if I understand correct I do have a bad switch and need to do the dance to send it in for repair.

Such a relief to have 2 Cera's, lol.

You've got it, but perhaps you don't have to send it in. See if you can unscrew the switch from the end cap (very fine threads, often tight). The switch, the bezel that sticks out the bottom, the spring and tube around it should all unscrew. I find pinching the tube and button and rotating the cap tube to work best.

If it comes free, contact Zeki and have him send you just that part (new switch sub assembly), the SS cap is fine.

OF, success, I was able to get it unthreaded! Funny things is now that I put it back together it works fine. It seemed it might have unthreaded a little on its own since there was a slight gab and very easy to get started. If it is a little unthreaded would that lead to the problem or am I just getting one of those lucky fixes that will stop working shortly?

I had a similar issue with my switch and Zeki had my unscrew it, clean it then screw it back together which fixed my problem completely just like what you encountered. I was just about to suggest that but I see you fixed it. Mine has worked flawlessly since so hopefully you have the same luck as me.

Mine unthreads a bit. I don't baby the cera as much as I should, but I think the real issue is I drive an evo, and the vibrations tend to break EVERYTHING.

I should take it out and clean it, rather than just keep tightening it up once in a while. It has never been an issue for me though. Now that I think about it, every time I put in a new battery and tighten the bottom, I end up checking the switch too. Takes less than a second, so why not!

OF, was the prototype Luna noticibly lighter in weight than the Cera?

The photo of the core in with the Luna looks like it has tamper proof torx screws rather than allan screws. Maybe that's part of the ecig core revision?

STEP 2 is so important. I believe "The PUFFING" is what causes the convection among the botanical molecules. You basically have to breathe just like a bong, but with Puffs to the take place of the bubbles.

Spot on! IMO more guys fall down on Step 2 (all that lovely vapor calling to them you know.....) than any other issue getting in gear.

In the day, Tim broke me of it with his 'test puff' idea. Make the solid test puff the goal (rather than 'huge clouds') and you're half way home.

The Sony battery I recommended is currently the best one for our use, but that said, there aren't huge differences among the top few. A battery with higher internal resistance will absolutely produce more heat when used, but if you have a massive high power heater sitting on top of the battery, the amount of heat the battery itself is adding is probably not particularly significant.

I would not stop using one of the top few batteries and go out an buy the Sony, but when the battery you're using is finally dying, and it's time to buy another battery, I'd buy the Sony. If you are currently using an 18650 that's not in the top few (and hence probably not the correct choice for the Cera), you will see a marked improvement in your vaping experience.

(Sony just released a 26650 that's rated at 50A continuous current. Not of much use to us 18650 people, but it's another monster).

My sony batteries you suggested will show up today and I'll try them out and let you guys know how it goes. Compared to the batteries I've been using since the cera was released, I expect it to be a game changer, just because they are SO worn down by now.

I have the Sony US18650V3, @ least that's what is written on the battery?
I don't remember if it was 2100mAh or 2200mAh?

It was haywoods recommendation at the time though & they work like a charm.
I can just imagine the upgraded version you're getting Darkrom.
I've noticed they heat up A lot faster than the battery I have from TET.
I get around a solid 3 bowls with the Sony

Does anyone have a tool they use to collect residue from the top cap + mp assembly on the Cera?
I find myself using a lot of Q-tips. I know it can be vaped again in various ways. I just want to store it separately is all.

I use this 1/8 teaspoon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003FIF80Q/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_KoX5sb1D3E87N.

I use the bowl end to scoop ground bud from a jar to my Cera (this is the perfect size for loading into Cera) and the straight end for scraping the MP. I then use a toothpick to scrape off the goods back into the bowl, sandwiched by two fresh bud layers. These are wonderful bowls, that last forever, and ever, and ever...
