So it seems Thermovape has finally come out with a quick successor of the Cera, it is for oil/liquids only ( i have my fingers crossed that I can jig a way to fit my LL on there).

Anyway heres the link to see what it looks like
http://store.thermovape.com/vaporizers-c17.aspx

It is still in pre-order status so I doubt anyone has it yet? If so dooooo tell us about it please:cool:

It has the carbon fiber aspects that we heard about with rumors of the Mini yet haven't heard hints of any ceramic elements to the vape that were also mentioned in rumors of the Mini Cera. Though It is said to be more light weight due to the carbon fiber, plus the carbon fiber adds a great aesthetic appeal.

What does everyone else think about this? Will the Cera owners want to fork over the money to get this new body?

I want to know how light it is, how the button will not suddenly activate on it's own, and if the LL cart is able to be used. My Cera is in the box and not used because the LL can't produce vapor for me on demand. Always takes effort and that is why only the EO cart is used and best for long drives and travel. I would definitely look into the Luna if it has a built in battery though.

I wish them luck... but $300?

The Cera Mini is $50 more than the Cera!
:mental:

Thermovape did well when their competition was mediocre ecigs, but with USA vape pens like Dabblers and Dr. Dabbers they've really got their work cut out for them at that price point :2c:

I'm pretty upset. I have a few questions if anyone knows anything.

Are the cera oil and E cig carts compatible?
Will Thermovape offer the body stand alone if so?

If it isn't all my marbles are going to spill onto the floor, if you aren't going to give me a solution to the reach around cera button and phallic shape at least allow me to change. My girlfriend, brother, and myself all call it the penis vape. Not to knock its ability, because the LL although not as efficient as say the cloud but will still get you medicated after countless bowls of mastering the technique. EO also is good, problem is both require not just a job with its manual warm up routine but the switch kills my wrist, especially with the E.O where I cant turn it upside down. Cloud broke 2 months ago about to pick up the evo and then I go and see this bad boy on here -_- I'm sure they will eventually put an LL on the body too. I just hope the don't try to screw their current customers by forcing us to buy a whole new product for initial product improvements.

The Cera Oil, E-Cig, and LL carts will all screw into the Luna. Nothing about a "Luna cart" is any different than a Cera cart, they're all the same.

Whether Luna will be useful for the LL cart, given the lack of insulating ceramic in the body, is unknown right now. For sure it wasn't a focus in the Luna's design.

Word down the grapevine is that the new end cap and side-switch that Luna comes with are backwards compatible with the Cera. The side-switch upgrade kit (or service) isn't expected to be available until after Luna is out and after thread adapters are made available (allowing use of old TV cores on the Luna body). A few months down the road, maybe?

Maybe. OF has mentioned that heat up time for an LL cart on Luna should be quicker.

My concern is that even if you have some kind of wrap on it allowing you to hold it while the metal body gets hot, all that heat is being trapped inside and being passed to the battery. Couldn't be good for the longevity of the battery at the very least?

I'm sure OF will look into all this once he's got his hands on one. Hopefully only a few weeks away.

Reasons I will not be buying this

- The owners quit, the company has no face (Noah and Tim)
- The core is not user serviceable and builds up wax residue that is impossible to clean out if you don't winterize your oil, degrading performance over time
- Thread adapters would have been released a year ago if Thermovape listened/cared about customers
- Overpriced battery tubes for what reason?, go on fasttech and get one for $20
- The fact they still market a $100 e-cig atomizer that nobody wants or uses further proves they are out of touch
- I don't want to be beta tester for a first release, specifically based on my previous experience with Cera and how many failures it had with the power strap etc.

The sony 30 amp batteries might be useful here. I've got 2 that should be arriving today, and I'll be using them with my cera LL and EO.

The founders of TET were Noah Minskoff and Nate Terry. Nate is still there and Tim was an engineer, not a founder or owner.

Correct, I was never an owner or had shares of ownership. Contrary to what was promised to us.... That would have encouraged me to stay when they owed me so much $, but at least I'm paid off finally! 6+ months later!

Noah I believe still owns some of the IP, not involved with the business anymore though. Dont quote me on that tough as i haven't been by TET for a while now.

I hope Nate updates how the resistance wire fastens to the threaded base for Luna, I find that to be the biggest source of increased resistance (decreased performance). It should have a mechanical fastener threading or crimping the wire to the side and post instead of just wrapping it around and hoping it stays tight. That is the last bit of Cera's assembly that was never ironed out during my R&D, the spot welder was soposed to be the fix for it but I left before it was fully up and running.

Yeah i dont see the luna being good at all for LL. During use, the top cap and mp, and upper part of the cera body get too hot to touch with prolonged usage. The top of the luna that has the button is SS which will get hotter much faster. I can see slipping off the button and burning yourself quite easily using LL.

The carbon fiber isnt part of the body, i think its more of a decorative sleeve, or possibly similar in function to the delrin sleeve on the T1.

They really should release the backward compatable switch for the cera at the same time as the luna. We have been practically begging for a thumb switch since the cera was released. Now they finally have one and theyre gonna make us wait months possibly after the luna release?!?

If they released it at the same time it would keep current (LL) customers happy, bring in new LL customers, and shouldn't interfere with luna sales because any new customers that strictly use oil/liquid will probably still opt for luna.

I dont mind the weigh of the cera either. I just looked at the firefly at my LHS and its heavier than the cera!

Has the weight of the Luna been given? Obviously a lot lighter than a Cera. Hopefully everything is on track for shipping this week!!

I wouldn't say its obvious OR a lot lighter. I'd guess the weight will be slightly less honestly, but that is a guess.

Hello everyone! We wanted to give a quick update for you all. Parts have arrived and are keeping us on track for shipments this week. The remaining parts will be here within the next 48-72 hours. We're excited to get the Luna built and sent out.

We will be putting the dimensions of the Luna on our site but for now here is the weight of the Luna Oil Vaporizer:

With battery : .43 lbs
Without battery : .33 lbs

Compared with the Cera Titanium Oil at:

.4 lbs without battery
.5 lbs with battery and 510 mouthpiece

Thank you!

Curious to see how this one turns out. There's been quite a bit of competition lately with the portables..

I saw @BLAZING OG saying something in the cera thread about the possibility of interchangeable sleeves for the Luna body. I think this would be a great idea ... then they could release a loose leaf sleeve that extended all the way up the body similar to the delrin sleeve on the t1 to keep from burning hands.

I only made it through the fist post of this thread before I pulled the trigger on the Luna preorder lol.......im actually surprised I held out as long as I did however if im being truthful I should admit I had it in my shopping cart with payment info filled out since the announcement!

So have we heard any more about this beautiful piece of machinery? I have been pretty diligent about checking up on the forums but have seen no mention of any beta testing?

From what I can tell it seems to be more like the size of the revolution with the power of the VERA how could you go wrong with that??

They posted on Facebook that the Luna will be available without a cart soon. Great for those of us who have multiple carts already.

Wouldn't that make the base approximately $199? I mean it wouldn't make sense for it to be less expensive, otherwise there'd be no reason to buy the full Luna since it would be cheaper a la carte.

My point being that $199 (or over) for the base seems like an insane amount to drop merely for the handle yet it makes no sense for TET to offer it for less (or more for that matter).

I was going to pull the trigger on the Luna but I think I'll just wait for the Cera with the updated switch.

$199 seems reasonable to me.
Does anybody know if the Luna will have another strap connecting the batteries (like a Cera) or just use the body of the Luna to achieve the same thing?
