Hey all,

I just signed up to the forum, I'm rather new to the whole vaporizing thing. I have been researching different ways to help with my insomnia issues and not too many things have been helping me out much. Vaporizing seems like a nice option so I am going to be giving it a try. I am trying to learn about a few different things that I could vape to help with getting some sleep. I have had a look through some of the threads here and still have a bit of an internal debate, do any of you guys use anything that you feel works well?? These things are always pretty subjective but I am looking for some advice and maybe temperatures that work best for the things mentioned. Thanks a lot (And sorry if this has already been asked >.>)

If used purely for sleeping issues i'd maybe look into edibles first, personally a nice cannacookie,-cupcake or -muffin will be far more likely to make me fall asleep on the couch as vaporising.
Apart from that you're probably better off with more 'indica-like ' strains than 'sativalike' strains.
Insomnia really sucks, hope you find something that works!

^^what they said plus I would like to add, for me a high temp session(390-405f for me) an hour and a half to three hours before I lay down to close my eyes is what works. If I vape right before trying to go to sleep I'll toss and turn for an hour. I have found in my time using MMJ that often the benefits aren't present if I stay stoned. For Sleep and appetite stimulation I need to Vape up and then be on the "coming down" part of the "buzz" a few hours later to reap the medical benefits.

Peace and rest to ya @lin5546 .

I think the key to success for you will be high temps. for sleep, you are probably looking more for the effects of the CBD/CBN's over the THC. a variable temp vape would be something to consider.

also get a home vape, instead of a portable. they have more kick imo. if you decide you like vapor then get a portable after. :)

Unfortunately I don't currently have the money for a home vape... They are rather pricey and I cut it close even without going out of my way to buy expensive things. I have tried a few friends vaporizers and I find that I don't mind portables too much but I intend to save for a better quality home vaporizer in the future. But in my mind I feel like if you are rather new to something it is better to start a little cheaper, in my case, efficacy and kick are not an issue since I'm kind of a lightweight anyway ^.^ so I'm starting simple and after I get a little bit of money saved and have some time to get used to it I might invest in a stronger more expensive one. Really I wouldn't want to cheap out on a home one since those are where the lasting power is.

As a matter of fact a friend of mine gave me her slightly used vapir no2. She agreed to let me have it today so I think that might go over well. And what can I say? It's free ^.^. I've used it before somewhat so I kind of know a little about it. So we will see how that pans out.

I agree, if money is tight, solo is a great choice. I have and love my Pinnacle pro....with either unit, I tend to vape at a pretty high temp, so water use with a water tool helps take any edge off.

The rest is up to the strain you choose...a nice indica should help knock you out.

Another excellent option in the low price range is the Vapolution 2.0. They're still offering the basic kit PLUS the great All-in-wonder bowl (usually $20) for the bargain basement price of $99 when you use the discount code found in the first thread post- http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapolution-2-0.4940/. I used a Vapo for years and you can't beat the value IMO, especially when you get an all glass vapor path.

I intend to save for a better quality home vaporizer in the future.
For more money you'll get ease of use features, maybe digital readout, etc., but if you're willing to deal with a bit of a learning curve and pay attention when using, something like the Vapo can provide top quality at a very affordable price.

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
Vap 2 is the best deal in a home vape. If you only want any for home use, I would recommend it over any portable.

Edit: When I say deal, I don't just mean cheap. It has better taste, efficiency and simplicity than any portable except the Lotus at a much lower cost than those portables.

Edit edit: So yeah, the Lotus would also be a good choice.

Thanks for all the info. When I have the spare money I am definitely going to invest. I am currently using the vapir, which so far has been good, and what can I really complain about since it was free? The suggestions here have been really great and I suspect that I am probably going to try and get a vapolution at some point soon so that I can have one in my home as well.

Hey dude, i vape for insomnia and here are my tips:

1. avoid all portables, im guessing your not looking to solve your insomnia out on the street and on the go, so get a home unit

2. Vape your bud at higher temperatures than most people would advise, you want around 210-240c this is what i go for, and i like to feel stoned and heavy and relaxed for my sleep. I find if i stay low temps, im way too high and active to be able to sleep, i just lay there with my head running until i sober a bit, a high temp is what you want. I find my cera a little be useless for putting me to sleep because of its unadustable tempreture, it gets me high, it doesnt get me stoned.

3. Vapes i would recommend are, SSV, ExQ, the herbalizer seems very good too. But IMO the SSV is the pick of the bunch, its a proven design, one of the cleanest airpaths, and it can really really knock me on my ass, and i have a big tolerance.

Seriously dont bother with these vapairs or vapolutions or vivapes or any of these random vapes, go with some of the trusted core brands and avoid the people just looking to make a quick buck off the vape trend. Honestly its better to just save up and buy a great vape the first time than cheap out and buy something thats second best. 180 dollars gets you a blemished ssv, trust me best investment you will make, wasting 100$ on some second tier vape is pointless, get it right the first time.

Honeslty a joint is better for insomnia than a less than very good vaporizer. I would suggest just burning till you can afford a big home vape.

How long have you been viewing the vaporizer market? Not very long it seems. The Vapolution has been around as long as the SSV, and longer than the Extreme. As good as the Herbalizer is, it's not a trusted core brand, as you put it, since it's brand new to the market. It's also very expensive and therefore not a good choice for someone new to vaporizing unless they've got money to burn.

When you're talking about a time tested reliable vape model, as well as a top buy, value wise, you'd be hard pressed to come up with a better vape than the Vapolution. If you're going to give advice in such a broad manner, you need to get your facts and vape history straight.

I don't see the logic in your statement. A homemade lightbulb vape qualifies as a "very good vaporizer" if you get a good hit. I've said it many times. Vapor is vapor. Some vapes just make it easier to get consistently good hits.

Glad the NO2 is working for you. I think you are right to go and get a home vape at some point too! it's a shame we can't "try before we buy" with most of these cool tools right?

the vapolution 2.0 is a great little vape. I would not cast it off as another junky 2nd tier vape. for me personally, I feel like I am "working" to get the job done with it. (a lot like the mflb) but it does the job and also extracts really well. It just takes time to get it done.

my buddy who has a low tolerance and is always afraid of "getting too high", love the Vapolution, it has been his daily driver for well over 2 years now.

I think the advice to buy a solid vape the first time, is really good advice. nothing is worse than spending half of the money you should have and then regretting it and wishing you has just saved up a bit more and done it right the first time. in the end you will buy that better vape or giveup and discount vaporization as a novelty. (I did this the first time round way back well over 12 years ago. and it delayed my conversion to going to vapor only by about 8 years... :( )
