Arizer Solo

Video I just did...
I sorta screwed up the lighting, until about halfway through the video.
Got some cat entertainment, me trying not to show my face and kinda showing it, and some
mad-rad tunes playing the background.
Also some clouds, but not great.
Hopefully the audio is better this time, as well. We shall see. Used a new program.

Ceramic heating elements? I'm pretty sure that the ceramic Solo was like, the original first run? It's got a stainless steel bowl which heats up, unless you mean the stuff around that under the cap. I haven't been able to catch a cherry or get a gross combustion taste at 7 with my Solo and various strains. The newest additions to the Solo have been improved airflow (older models have what seems to be a more restricted draw) and being able to use while charging now. Used to be you had to buy a separate cable and converter for getting a power adapter but the new Solo has integrated the feature. Now's as good as ever to get a Solo really.

Got my 2nd replacement solo ;)
My M1C1 had a short life.
Now I have a M1D2 (black again, looks so nice)

7! sessions at 7 from a full charge and the battery was down to 3 from a full charge, very impressive if it stays like this (burning off a couple at first, then tried to time a couple, but my EVO made that really hard)

When I finally was able to time it 1 session lasted 10 seconds short of 12 minutes!

Do the newest versions need the o-ring as well?

Actually no Solo needs an o-ring (or surely Arizer would include them.....), it's a convenience modification. Some guys get distracted and have the stem fall out. Some of us are bent stem users and don't like it swiveling away to one side when you're not looking (my personal issue).

In fact, many find it introduces problems since it seals the top better (again) and therefore makes the draw harder (a widely held pet peeve around here). IMO adding a ring and changing the stock stem for a PVHES cancel each other out and put you back where you'd be without the ring and new stem.

It's an unfortunate artifact of this age we live in that guys look for 'the quick fix' and jump on board without fully understanding what's up? Just 'cuz it's on the web doesn't make it any more reliable.......

Anyway, the reasons for wanting to put a ring in (or not) are probably the same, we have no information that the factory seal has changed in any way. All of mine loosened up over time. Due I think to differences in stems used, some faster than others. But it was because it did loosen up on the first one I went on the quest for the right size ring.

Also remember, that some caps are thicker than others, so the rings don't always fit the same.

Note the one on the left is thicker? I had to sand the ring down for that one (or leave the cap a few turns out). FWIW the caps didn't interchange on the units???

Long time lurker, first time poster.

About a month and a half ago I was interested in purchasing a portable after being a longtime owner of a Volcano classic. I searched for the best that was available, and the Arizer Solo's name was one of the few names that consistently came up. Eventually that brought me to this site, where I've skimmed through the entire 'Arizer Solo' thread and read the last 300 pages. 3 weeks ago I became a proud new owner of an M1C model. At first I was having some difficulties with battery time/power levels and immediately assumed I had received one of the notorious faulty m1c models. I'm glad I chose to wait it out, and continue using it before sending it back because everyday I've owned my Solo i've grown to like it more.

My weed consumption is a fourth of what it once was.

The unit itself is very sturdy and has a good weight to it. The stem becomes loose overtime, but I've read that users here have used a oring from planetvape to fix that issue.

This unit is pretty stealth, I use it at work, and on the train. It does make an odor, but its very mild and dissipates quickly. This odor may not be as strong smelling as weed, but it does have a weed related aroma so caution.

Thanks to this forum for educating me on the accesories of the solo, and its proper use an care.
Just ordered a pves, gong, honeycomb screens, and just purchased this honeycomb filtered rig to use with my solo and the occasional dab.

I am also interested. Where did you get the silicone washer?

i will post a link after i get out of work today. the washers i bought were perhaps a bit too thick, but after some negotiating i got the top on flush. when i post the link later i will make sure they are the thinner ones that should fit no problem.

oh and this wi be a package quantity. not individuals.

Isn't that a hoot? Better results on much less herb? I think you'll find what most of us did, over time you'll move right up to the top shelf and use much less of a much nicer grade of bud....and save a pile of filthy lucre in the process to buy more vapes with.......

I'd also hazard a guess that the average guy partakes more hours a week as well, and still saves LOTSA bucks.

Arise, Sir Lurker......and join the party!!

Great first post, thanks. I'm sure I'm not alone in looking forward to more of them.

I used the wonderful forum search feature and found this old post...

I only see one thickness, but maybe there are other options to be found.

is that for mcmaster carr? they def have all kinds of options.

prolly doesnt have to be silicone. as long as it can handle the heat any rubber should be fine.

Thanks for that photo OF. People kept talking about the "caps" and I thought they meant the little cover thingy. Now I get it....

You got to watch out for that with Solo..... It's not a good idea to go experimenting with it when you don't have lots of time and nothing really pressing that needs doing.

was just a quick prototype, my friend had no stems, so i just tried making a constriction bowl, works great...except this being thick boro it has a longer heat up time tho... yeah the mouthpiece was just decorative mash of a few colors, none of this was really planned out haha just a quick whim. getting the outside and inside diameter of the bowl just the right size is hard, it was wigggley.

also, that drip serves like a hanger/rollstop

I got my solo in the mail around noon today, fast free shipping from planetvape.
I used it with the stock bent stem twice, and once with my ground glass on glass adapter with my bubbler

I'm really happy with my purchase, and my friend that was over liked it aswell

Got my M1D2 in the mail but.....
I don't feel like it heats very evenly!

I keep feeling like it's tasting too hot by the end of the bowl and if it's packed as full as I used to pack bowls, it looks burnt in the middle.

Tomorrow i'll take pictures but i did like 12 indica bowls out of my EVO today and really need to lie down

So I've had my first couple of days with the Solo, and holy sh*t this little thing is just amazing!
Started my first session at level 3 and was able to get huge, tasty clouds right away, no learning curve there!
And it is so efficient as well, one of those tiny little bowls and I was pretty vaked.
Love how dense vapor you can get with it too.
I love my SSV, but I have a feeling the Solo is gonna replace it as my daily driver.
My GF was skeptical to say the least when I first purchased the Solo but it only took one hit and she was a believer.:)
Tried it with the PVHES GonG but the Solo doesn't pair up well with my current glass piece, so I'm gonna buy a nice bubbler for it instead.

Back to experimenting and I'm looking forward to many many awesome sessions!
