That would be cool!!
The luna states 3.7 v with 18650 and 7.4v with 2 18350's , a matter of swapping out the batteries and thats it. The E liquid luna cart is the only one with 7.4 v.

The evolution cart would be pretty cool!!!
Only thing that bums me out is that the preorder cost is $350 for a full kit... $50 and 2 cents more than a full Cera kit for both EO and EL. Still... the "vape only" is basically everything you need except the battery and charger (yes, full body and cart) for $300. I'd end up needing a whole different kit if I were to get a Luna as my original plan is getting their adapter and rocking the Cera carts on my Ultra.

Awwww yes I c, yeah your so right.
Yeah the price caught me off guard:brow::uhoh:
The adapter for the ultra and 510 devices/mechanical mods would be cool as well.It might open up a new market for carts, adapters, and possibly bodies.[Fingers Crossed]:spliff:

@OF could an adapter be used here to run Luna at the 3.7v configuration and then use an LR Evolution cart?

Luna battery: 3.7v 18650, 7.4v 2x 3.7v 18350

Yup, that was specifically discussed when we got to the adapter part. Not just LV versions of Evolution and the rest, but also SV versions. That's what the one in the photos is running I think, two RCR123As for 6.0 Volts total, not two 18350s.....which would be upwards of 8.4 Volts worst case, turning a weak SV cart into a flashbulb.

While other makers might put margins in that allow such wide ranges, the idea with the SV line is I think based on 6.0 Volts that doesn't change much over discharge. They push the SV stuff right up to the wall in an effort to get 'faster action' going. The jump from 6.0 to 8.4 is huge power wise, basically it doubles it.

I don't believe Luna's tube is long enough for 18350s, I don't think that would have been included in the design? The batteries in the unit I looked at were some ones I didn't recognize but there were several of the familiar Tenergy 700 mAh RCR123As next to the drop bottle of 'juice' Nate was using.....

Cool, I wasn't 100% on the SV as TV's site lists Luna's battery configurations as what I specified in the quoted post. Swear on my Ultra, go have a peek so you don't think I photoshopped anything! 2 3.7v 18350 IMR. I didn't want to make any assumptions about SV at 7.4v as that seemed pretty high for me knowing it's 6v. Could just be a typo as I'm sure they've had their hands full lately, but I'm just callin' it like I'm seein' it.

Great Scott!
Maybe the new sony batteries I ordered will let the LL work wellon the Luna? Carbon fiber is a good insulator, but not when its that thin I'm sure.

I'll get the luna when I can order just the luna. I already have an LL cart and an EO cart, I can't drop $200+ just for a handle, as awesome as it may be.

I dont see any use for luna with LL. If people were burning themselves with the top cap, just imagine what will happen when someone accidently touches the top of the luna accidently while holding the thumb button. especially because the Steel will get much hotter faster than the zirconia.

I wish they would release a cera thumb switch already and id be set! Weve been asking for this from day one. This sucks cause i dont want the luna if i can get the tumb switch for my cera but i know i wont be able to wait.

Hey OF do you happen to know if there is a top cap for the Luna to make it more aestheticly pleasing? It looks cool but im sure it would burn you on the cart after extended use if you slid it in your pocket. Also will it leak out the top? My cera eo i notice sometimes the oil sticks to the MP which is a non issue because the MP contains the liquid.thanks :)

EDIT

NM OF I guess the ceramic top answered my own question ;)

IMO way more than a guess. Spot on is closer.......

As I said, I'm not sure LL use with Luna more than occasionally makes sense, I'd go Cera. EO carts should perform the same in either case. And I think the new MPs (deeper reach) will make EO cart with drip tip use even better (for Cera as well).

Fun stuff. A month or so from now folks should have them in their hands, wanna bet I'm not the first guy to try fitting the switch in his Cera?

Do ya? Whoever it is, had best be quick about it, though.......

Anyway, IMO it's such 'hands on testing/fiddling' that gives us so much useful information in these here Forums. Soon we'll collectively be wiser still......get ready world!

Damnit, I wish it was more suited for LL. Id definitely be interested in the case...

It looks SO much better than the Cera. The design is one of the reasons i will not purchase a Cera, it looks like a white dildo. Cmon!

Now this Luna...now THAT is something I would carry around!

What do you think about haywood's suggested battery? Do you think they will lower the temp of the outside of the vape enough to use the cera without the "condom" on the end? What about the luna with that Sony 30 amp battery?

I'm sure it doesn't make THAT much of a difference, but it never hurts to ask.

@OF or haywood are better qualified to answer your question.
Just throwing my :2c: in, I think the heat generated by the cart might be the culprit, the battery might warm up but not to the level of making the cera body hot. The long runtime of LL heater is what makes the cera so hot, the sony battery if it can power up the cart much faster and a bit hotter due to its lower resistance might in tern keep cera a bit cooler, since you might not have to run her that long with the sony to get the same results or better of the panny battery.

Plus I hear the sony doest break a sweat under these conditions, so it stays relatively cool.
Just ordered some sony vtc3 & vtc4 to try out.
Thanks everyone!!

I know you asked OF but I doubt the battery is going to make any difference in how hot the cera (or Luna for that matter) gets during use. Those Sony batteries won't get as hot during normal operation but it isn't the heat generated from the battery that heats up the cera, it is the core that makes it too hot to hold. No battery is going to prevent that unless it is too weak to power the core, but then you have bigger problems to worry about.

Edit: @BLAZING OG beat me to the punch.

Losing the bottom end of the cera with the new luna thumb switch would make quite a bit of difference to the aesthetics and be easier to carry around. Don`t know whether this will become an option from new, or just a conversion kit. :peace:

Hello FC members. Thank you for your input. Just wanted to mention that we updated the pricing. It's a small change but worth noting.

18650 Batteries are now priced at $14.99 now, down from $24.99.

That means that the Luna Oil Vaporizer Kit is $10.00 cheaper. Pricing for the Liquid Luna stays the same due to the pricing of the 18350s.

We will be updating the FAQ pages with dimensions and important points for the Luna.

Again we appreciate your support and enthusiasm!

I agree with the others. Given good batteries, self heating is minor. In my PA testing I confirmed this (the PA doesn't contribute any heat). It still got 'just as hot, just as fast'. I think the main culprit is conduction, fairly easy through the metal parts, and slowly but relentlessly though the ceramic. The bad part is this means it also cools off slowly.

Luna should heat faster, but also cool faster (especially with some thought given to sleeves). It might work out OK for a series of quick hits with short breaks?

Time will tell.

I feel the same way.
The core looks good, But maybe a black delrin sleeve like the T1 heating core would add on some safety features?

Perhaps a snug fit delrin sleeve that goes over the Core and still let's the Core screw into the base.

On my Cera the cores screw in very deep. So maybe just enough delrin to cover the exposed area of an EO core that's fully installed to either Luna or Cera?
To me, it would look completed with a sleeve.
I just. Don't feel comfortable with exposed metal that is usually hot when being utilized

Thank's Zeki, always so helpful with incredible service.

Any chance there will be a "Luna" body & switch kit only?

Thanks in advance

I wish they would release a T2. A T1 modified to be 18650 instead of the smaller cells. Same bowl and heater etc. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

The Luna -
A carbon fiber sleeve exists instead of the delrin sleeve like the T1, carbon fiber sleeve Proposes heat issues for the body as opposed to the delrin sleeves.
Uses 18650 batteries
Suited for Essential oils and E-Liquids

*EDIT*

In my eyes, all that is needed is the delrin sleeve on the body and one for the cartridges cause It might look a bit weird with the white top cap & mp on the Luna.
A protective barrier to fit the cartridges would appeal to many eyes. Even improve safety?

It would be cool to be able to insert the Core into a sleeve and then snap fit an mp into the sleeve. Take that core + mp assembly and screw it onto the Luna body (have the delrin sleeves on the Core and body match up flush for aesthetics)
Easy to take apart means easy to clean?

And you'd still be able to load up your oil or liquids by simply removing your mp.

I know I make it sound Easy.
But this is all theoretical.
I have an LL core and would love a smaller body.
Plus the SWITCH. THAT'S 200 points just right there.

Doesn't have to be ugly, mine cost $20, a few hours of labor, plus the eo cart and I think it has an old-world "spyglass" kind of charm:
sz6lMIh.jpg

I'll let you guys know when my switch comes in :D

How does the eo cart taste for you guys? I notice taste is very good after loading and diminishes quickly if you do +10 sec rips (I'm guessing that cooks the oil a bit) Also I'm wondering how long your warm up is from cold to get nice thick vapor, mine is more than 5s sometimes more than 10
Hey Joe you on the Luna design team? :)

I FINALLY GOT THE INHALATION TECHNIQUE on my LL CERA!!! PRODUCING QUALITY VAPOR AND CLOUDS NOW!!!.

I heard the Orbtronic High Drain 18650 2900mAh NCR18650PD Hybrid Li-ion are pretty good.
Are the Orbtronic better than the Panasonic's that come with the LL CERA?

I have noticed that my heating core produces the best heat when sideways or upside down. Is this a common issue?
