Scientific Inhalations (SiPipes)

So there was an announcement that W9 is going to start carrying Scientific Inhalations (SiPipes) products.

Now, I had never heard of this company so I had to look up their website. Looks pretty interesting. Im most interested in this fritted bubbler:

No word from W9 about availability or pricing through them and SiPipes doesnt sell direct to the public it seems. All you can do is find authorized retailers through the SiPipes website... and they are mostly LHS'.

W9 said they will have a 20% off sale when they start carrying the SiPipes products in the next few days so ill have to wait and see anyway but in the meantime I am wondering if anyone has experience with this brand or even better yet the bubbler I'm interested in.

From what i can tell is that its an American made alternative to China stuff like DHGate with higher QC... but thats just a guess.

Any and all input is welcome.

Hmm, don't think that would be considered a fritted bubbler.
Honeycomb disk perc typically is a bunch of very round circles.


What caught my eye was the mini honeycomb bubbler though. Appears to be a bit different.

Oh? I didnt know there was a difference. So the shape of the holes in the disc determine if its fritted or not?

Nope, what you posted is a honeycomb. Disc with holes through it for diffusion. Frits are glass shards melted together, diffusion is much different. Take a peek at Goldstein's glass for frits.

It looks to me as though the honeycomb has frits in it instead of strait holes for the air to travel thru?

Ive seen the DG pieces I just figured there were different types of frtis or at least less expensive and complicated ways of making them. Good to know! However for DG money id probably get a Mob matrix Ion .

On that note, does this honeycomb just offer less diffusion/stacking over an actual fritted piece? And if so does that mean more flavor retention?

I think it's just a thick honeycomb disc. Thicker than what I usually see, anyways. Cool seeing the honeycomb at the top of the can though

That's what I thought at first because it says "3 honeycomb disks" but then I realized that one honeycomb is a non-perc splash guard and the other is a honeycomb bowl for combustion.
