I go where the thrills are
...what i have noticed, and I know that it sounds impossible, is that you can let the button up midway through your draw and keep drawing with the power off. I swear It seems to "catch" in a way that keeps the vapor flowing... not every time, but more and more often. This machine becomes very second nature. By that I mean, I have gotten some of the largest most satisfying hits when I was paying the least amount of attention to my technique... Is this crazy?

It's not impossible...it's pretty common. The chamber is still hot, and despite how quickly the FF cools down, the bowl stays warm for a few minutes, especially later in the session when it's really warmed up. So your material is still cooking...there are still heat molecules bouncing around that material after you let off the heat button, so you're still drawing hot air over it. And you can get a nice hit from that point on. This is similar to carry-over cooking...you can remove the food from the oven, but there are still heat molecules bouncing around and cooking it.

Someone here mentioned letting off the button as soon as you feel the hit in your lungs. If I wait that long, it's a bit late for me, and hoo boy, too big of a hit. But I agree, you get a personal, intuitive rhythm built up with the FF, and eventually conscious technique falls away and muscle memory takes over. Just like guitar.

HEy guys, Sent them an email a couple of days ago but no answer yet. Anyone know if there are any international (220V) plans for this unit?

I might have ordered one BUT I have a shipping address in Canada… ;) They won't ship outside North America yet. :(

So i arose this morning and decided to make a breakfast salad for my wake and bake. i did about a 75/25 ratio of flower to kief and packed that in my FF. Put in a fresh battery and powered her up. Hit the heater and let it warm for 3-5 seconds then i started pulling. hit for about 8seconds released the heat continued the hit and then re-engaged the heater. then i exhaled, i could not believe i had all that vapor inside me. i continued the session and oh well late for work yet again!!!

You guys are killing me here. All these positive comments are wearing me down...

Not sure if this has been addressed, but I don't remember it, so I'll ask:

Would you consider the Firefly to be a stash hog, a stash saver, or somewhere in between?

As a frame of reference I consider my Nano log & MFLB to be efficient compared to my Pax & EVO which seem to make a much larger dent in my stash.

Not saying I prefer one over the other, just trying to see where this might fit in my lineup if I pull the trigger.

I consider it to be all of the above..the vapor tastes so good you will run through your stash very fast. But it is also very efficient in how you will go through your stash as well. i hope that makes sense!!

I feel like Hoyo is right. I have been using less per buzz but I like the unit so much that I have been partaking more than usual. I have started calling my FF a "space coffin" because it looks like a coffin or suspended animation device used in a sci-fi movie, it sends me to space, and sometimes sends me "coughin" :smug:

Makes me think of this...

It does look more like a space coffin than a space monolith though...

I also have a great idea for the FF2 or just a new lid for FF1. Make a metal pic for the FF that is flat with rounded edges. Make a small indentation in the FF lid, in between where the two vapor channels go. ( I think the magnets are there also.) now you would have a pick that would go with the FF and be locked in to the lid by magnets. I would have a small angle on the end of the pic where your nail could grab. The rounded edge could be the same shape as the channels so if you had a paper towel or napkin you could use the tool to clean those channels. The other end could be more pick like for stirring or breaking up material.
