Crazy but I dont get that problem at all. I guess I do have long nails for a guy, not super long just a mm or so of free nail and I can remove the battery easily. The scotch tape is a nice hack though.
my wife has hella hard lacquered nails and she couldn't get it out. once you can get leverage on the battery it pops out easy. but i've got big fat digits and usually managed to smash down a bunch of keys at ah;oadsifm a;fa;

I have nails, but the problem is that there is nowhere for my fingernail to "grab" the battery. If it had a notch or something, it wouldn't be a problem, but my batteries are smooth. Hopefully the tape holds up and doesn't off-gas to many toxic fumes. :worms:

:peace:

yeah so what's it look like then. a home hack tape job and a blistered finger. gimme a gd notch so i don't need to maime myself. my left pointy finger was the only finger i could get to pull battery out. now it's blistered and i have to wait for it to heal. not really convientent to have to bring a flathead with me everywhere i go. it looks wierd. people think hey why are you just holding that screwdriver like that?

So I ordered my FF and its o. Its way with 1 extra battery I figure my FF will be my external charger and fully charge the 2 FF batteries and swap them out as I need them $55 bucks and$90 shipping charge isn't worth it since I live in Canada.
S I baught my FF from vapeworld free fed ex ground shipping to Canada as well as the USA way better deal then with the actuall FF company. I talked with them and explained I can't justify a extra hundred dollars for shipping when VW sends it for free and sells it and accessaries at the same price, sales rep at FF understood and was very apologetic and said if there was any issues she would take care of me even though I baught this FF from VW. Good company.
So the average usage is 5 to 6 sessions per battery that's not bad. I can't wait to try it the pair path intrigues me and I'm wondering if the design still lets herb come into the muth piece and your mouth?
And combusting seems to me would be a issue if not paying attention but I can see by the design and materials used to make the vapor path its going to taste great and I can't wait.

yes i got debris first two sessions. ground too fine sucked too hard heyooo... but yeah you'll get a feel. my current method is no grind just shove and after two of the best tasting tokes you've ever had... then mix herbs rinse repeat et al etc

<<And combusting seems to me would be a issue if not paying attention but I can see by the design and materials used to make the vapor path its going to taste great and I can't wait.>>

yes combust i have a few times. makes the load stink. again getting feel for air flow and pull etc has prevented this from being common occurance...

hey gotta say, when the unit is cold, that first toke is heavenly. my vapor temp seems to go up as the session progresses. vapor temps kinda get warmer when the unit starts to warm up. but those first two tooties off a cold FF is/are the best tasting smoothest tooties i've enjoyed... and i was super cranky with the FF days 1 & 2.

Well the Firefly did better then any portable in my last major test/outing. I was able to medicated more on the go then any other portable vaporizer I have tried. It is more convenient to dump/load then the others vaporizers I have tried. You can power through a session in a minute or two. The quick heat up and cool down time really improves the session times. The taste is also better and smoother then almost all the portables I have tried. I was able to have 1 session right before the event, 2 sessions during the event, and 3 on the way home. I carried both extra batteries I have with me. I ended up going through two of the batteries... I could have pushed the first battery further, but I decided to just swap it out for a new one after the 3rd session. I was able to reload the vaporizer in the back seat of a car at night in the dark... that usually ends in a mess. I am very impressed with this portable...

Damn SliM stop doing that, my VAS is really strong thanks to posts like yours. I always liked one hitters/pipes, thats why I bought my MFLB some time ago but I always felt that the vapor was too harsh for me and my asthma so I ended not using it too much. This guy seems like everything I wanted from my MFLB + convection, so the vapor should be less harsh and the extraction much better. The only thing I don't like is the size but I'm starting to think that I can live with that...

Hey, Mark

I bought my FF from Vape World as well with free shipping...all the way up here! Their customer service is outstanding.

No matter how long I draw or how many times I pulse the heat button, I cannot get combustion. And my treats are bone dry...desert air up here. I can get them darkish brown now, but they never caught fire once...maybe a small charred bit here and there...not ash.

I'm still practicing...never been challenged like this by a product before.

I've heard anywhere from 2 to 5 bowls on a single charge so far...I bought the extra battery as well.

Anyhow, hope you end up loving it.

Thanks wild child that sounds like a great product so I'm excited to try it for sure, and ya up in the arctic the air is so dry and it is a desert lol by the way did you ever stumble across a guy named Sabastian Curley in Rankin Inlet, he s a real old friend half dutch half inuk loves to smoke my dutch brother from a other mother lol.
Anyway it sounds like a great product and if I'm not able to combust that's awesome but I'm sure a shake or stirr is in order now and then. The small load gives results that are uniform cause the heat can thurougly pass thru the herb at a constant high temp below the chamber thus creating a nice convection response thus great vapor and taste without combustion due to the placement of the owl and heating chamber awesome I can't wait wild child, sounds great.

Well stay warm my son in Inuvik says its cold and rankin or the eastern arctic is worse stay warm and let your firefly light your way through the darkness and encourage you in isolation while giving you a release because the arctic can work on your soul in a weird way.

By the way how long did it take to get your unit where every you are? In the Arctic of Canada?

Cheers, medical mark

Unfortunately, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Sabastian yet in my travels. I do live in a village called Baker Lake that is only 40 minutes away by prop plane. Lots of interesting characters up here, for sure. And it does weird your mind out a bit...good thing I was a bit ecclectic to begin with...fit in. Lol

Took about 3 weeks to get my FF but I ordered right before X-Mas. Normally takes packages from the States about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks.

Have a good night, Brother.

Me FF is somewhere over the Atlantic possibly... Could be here by the end of this week or early next week! So excited!
Are there gonna be any spare screens in the box? What's the charger's output?
The screen at the bottom of the heating chamber is 1/2" ultrafine. I bought 400 of them (fine 1/2") a few months ago and will simply use these generic screens for replacement. It will be interesting to see if going from ultrafine to fine mesh affects the air flow and draw somewhat. May just confuse myself further with this thing!:tup:

@Medical Mark
Adopted Sister? Very cool. And I'm happy you didn't get lost on the land. Seven people I know knew have lost their lives up here over the past 10 years wandering out and freezing to death. If it ever happens to me...I'll go out puffing on my FF.

Where might one find replacement screens in bulk like that?

Nice Wild child.

Just wondering being that Baker Lake is fricken cold -30 to -50 wind chills and windy condition how the does the FF hold up outside in the cold?

I lived in rankin for years went to school with people from baker when I was 19 in rankin 24 years ago and back then rankin was 1400 people. Makusi ( inuk nick name) little mark I'm small I worked for Senator Willie Adams at the nanuk inn. People drink hard there and suicide and death on the land is a common thing.

At a $100 dollars for a half gram of hash in the 90's having your own supply and not having the town now it was a hard thing there allways looking for uyaruq( drugs inuk) lol

I have many scars from the north and many who have passed in some tragic ways. Its a hard place.

Success wild child, by the way what are you doing there? 10 years now your a true northerner.
My father designed and built many things in the kewatin district. I have many good memories of the far north the east the true north, I've Been to everywhere. Its so unique.

Peace brother. Medicalmark

The stated specs claim the high temp is 400F. However, some users accidentally stumble onto combustion, which would imply a higher temp, at least sporadically. I would personally not describe it as "high temp" vape. Although the material can get quite dark, and even charred in places under certain conditions, I usually find the last two hits of any bowl aren't quite reachable through the FF. (But if I crank my V Tower to 410 or so I can get the last hits.)

So I'm not sure it meets what you think of as full-spectrum vaping. I would answer the "vape bubble" question but I don't know what that is!:doh:
Thanks man.
I did pick up one last Saturday but been too busy to really sit down with it too much.
I had about 12 session over that time that left me uber disappointed. I read the whole thread (speed read some), and felt I had enough knowledge to get off and running quickly, but that was not the case, until last night....
So last night I was thinking the lack of drag on the draw for a portable convection vape, was a bit weird. So I put my mouth over the bowl(with the cover off) and give a pull to see what difference in the drag from cover on to cover off (no heat, just drag tests).
Well, there was a major difference, so I decided to try a session with holding the cover on really tight.... FINALLY, I see the potential of this vape, to be honest I was about to sell the damn thing.
The session was much more fulfilling than any previous ones, what a relief, buyers remorse now gone, and time to get down to business to try and maximize the capabilities of the FF. Going to try and make it a bubble machine for less filing on the go, and bubble terps (in my opinion) are the best.

With the leaky cover, I feel it was bringing in way more air through the seal than it was through the load. Combustion happened 4-5 times out of 12, and I was feeling the convection aspect was a myth, I guess because hardly any air was actually going through the load, and it was just baking there without airflow.
I will be talking to CS, and hopefully a new cover is in order.
Thanks to everyone for their experiences, I knew something was up when my results were so far off from the consensus.
Also, I should do a Sig. but I've had a lot of portables over the last couple years, but the INH004 was my daily out of the house vape, due to high vapor production, full spectrum vaping, and overall ease of use. After the couple successful sessions last night, I MAY have finally found something to replace it, more experimenting to do to be sure.
Happy vaping folks!

Well it would be my opinion that since it is a convection vape, the herb needs to be pre heated so that the vapor can be released.
So since temp is maintained by holding the ignition button there's going to be a period were the herb will have to be heated thru out before it will start releasing herb.
Hold it the power for 5 to 10 seconds then release and press again and start a steady slow to medium draw and hold till your draw is finished. After doing this once I would imagine the np herb would be heated enough to go straight to a other draw with out pre heating the bowl again.
I haven used the FF yet mine on route but this would make sense to me.
Good luck everyone, I can't wait to be a FF on the wall lol

Cheers, medical mark

Brilliant thought to test the cover like you did! So the cover was the culprit and that is so great for everyone to know. Another bizarre problem solved for everyone here at FC.

Thanks havelight101 for being so damn smart.

I look at the first draw as a preheat flavor hit though I do get plenty of vapor — number two comes on stronger where I really, really, like it. Additional button presses are pretty much doing the same thing. As you stated the herb needs a preheat before vaping off all that goodness.

I am curious which technique is better for battery life?
That is why you have spares. I usually pre-heat take 3-4 good hits and then refill the bowl. i can do 3 good sessions like this. I tend not to complain about battery life cause by the end of a session the battery on the charger is fully charged and ready to go.
I will say that the battery life on the FF is way better than the battery life on my PnP.

I've been up here on and off for about 16 years in total. PM me and I'll let you know where I work...wish to keep a bit of anonimity up here considering the forum! Yes, unique for sure...but very sad with the lack of education and abundance of social problems. Heartbreaking, really.

I met Senator Willie several times...lol. And I know Jordan Tootoo very well...dated one of his Cousins for a while and he has a few relatives that work with me. Hell, EVERYONE is related up here!

Never bought or sold treats up here...get it flown in from BC:tup: A 'g' of green goes anywhere from $30 to $60 up here...no shit. I could make a FORTUNE, but my morals won't allow it. They have enough troubles up here without me adding to them.

To be honest, I have never used any vaporizer in the winter up here. It's just too damn cold and would most likely burn out most units. Don't think there is a battery that can keep up to -80F!

Peace to you as well, Brother.

@vorrange
The North certainly has it's beauty, but you get tired of seeing water, rocks and dirt pretty quickly. I grew up around trees and miss them terribly. Actually have alot of vines and greenery growing in my house to make up for it.

@Un Prophete
I bought them here, my Friend:

http://brasspipescreens.com/

(They have steel ones too...not all brass...good service). Good luck.

@havealight101

Leaky lid....hmmmmm? I wonder if that's why I can't seem to get combustion or hot enough... Thank you.
