Salutations everybody,

Actually it's about the pregnenolone molecule which appears to interfere with a cannabic receptor called CB1:

Well, i'd say the main goal is to, euh... Lets put it this way: it will cure physical addiction of cannabis!

:science:

The end of cold turkeys...

Wow, what great news that is!! Now all companies will require a cannabis-free environment where everyone chews a special type of gum, sticks a patch on, drops a pill, whatever! Why not even distribute this miracle of science through water, air and food?...

After all, this would be the end of a failed & costly anti-cannabic war!... So everyone would be satisfied and relieved to think no child will ever risk falling into the abismal inferno of this evil dame Marihuana again (...) - except cannabis users will be utterly pissed off to be the ones who must assume consequences for such level of collective bigotry, of course!

Gee, do i hope i won't see that day!

:bang:

M'yeah, call me fearmonger!! That's what one would have sounded like if he could have talked about Ritalin in schools during the '30s, no doubt.

j9u1aa.jpg

But yet my point is this: Pier Vincenzo Piazza isn't actually going to cure some so-called "addiction", provided he can provide replicable proof that such a thing is real. This medecine only blocks the CB1 receptor site for THC, hence on an immediate basis this accomplishes nothing relatively to psychological dependance as it's all about suppressing THC intoxication - ONLY!

E.G. You'd still want your toke while it's just not getting through anymore!!

...

In other words, in a cannabis-free environment it wouldn't matter if our vaporizers have been loaded with nice goodies as we'd get no joy from it. So that's absolutely no solution to mental issues which are said to be cannabis-related (!) - and i believe dependance corresponds to such a state; at best it can only help with starting a tolerance break, if that's what someone even requires!...

If you're mistaking then that makes us two because from what i could gather so far it appears in France cannabis renders half a million people dumb, lazy and useless (e.g. they suffer from the "behavioral effects of cannabis", sorry about my selection of short-cut!)... Consequently, it could mean pure evil does exist indeed.

Anyway, the title does read as: "protects brain from cannabis intoxication"...

I propose a pregnenolone blocker:rant:.

My reaction exactly. Mosanto will certainly attempt to jump on this finding has they'd get at least 2 lucrative business options to embrace here:

1) Offer pollen which promotes pregnenolone synthesis, to contaminate cannabis plants...
2) Offer pollen which promotes synthesis of pregnenolone-specific antagonist in monster girls!

On the other hand, the stuff is supposed to be good for your brain & body:shrug:...

Personnally i consider i don't need any pregnenolone supplements at the moment.

For the curious at heart, Pregnenolone supplements are fairly inexpensive. Anyone here care to report back to us with anecdotal evidence that THC is affecting you less, and/or improving your memory and sex life? The 'inquiring mindless' want to know!

Salutations Snappo,

...Pregnenolone supplements are fairly inexpensive.

Here's a quote i'll need to translate:

Slate: Une hormone sexuelle va-t-elle mettre fin à la dépendance au cannabis? (2014-Jan-3)

« Cette molécule est disponible sur Internet, non pas en tant que médicament mais comme ‘’complément alimentaire’’. Je tiens à prévenir les personnes qui pourraient être intéressées que sa consommation est totalement inefficace vis-à-vis de la toxicité du cannabis, a-t-il déclaré à Slate.fr. Elle est en effet mal absorbée et rapidement métabolisée par l'organisme. »

In short it confirms the molecule is effectively available via internet as a dietary supplement, not as medecine, though it's totally useless against cannabis intoxication because its absorption is inefficient and the body will metabolize it quickly.

While i'm at it lets add that i believe this scientist actually promotes confusion in the average public by suggesting the idea that "dependant" users quitting their habit once they lost the ability to enjoy cannabis would be proof of physiological addiction... I don't buy it.

Well, lets make it clear i'm the guy who calls it an anti-cannabic vaccine. The old man prefers expressions with more nuance, talking about vulnerable phenotypes who are prone to physiopathologic/pathophysiologic addiction...

50.gif

Notice the peculiar variation in his juxtaposition of "pathology" and "physiology" concepts, which clearly indicates a determination to insist that cannabis can cause physical addiction, while any smoker (etc.) could teach him what a real addicition actually is...

In any case there are two names which pop up when searching this:

20u7h1c.jpg

They are Pier Vincenzo Piazza (left) and Giovanni Marsicano (right).

Salutations Egzoset,

This approach would be welcome in the Wonderful World of Heroine (by eveyone except the users). But to block the cannabis affect is like stepping on Mother Nature's toes and not expecting to get swallowed up by a tree!

Dabs are vapor too!
Hmm, well I take pregnenolone, for a health condition (which it helps), and I haven't noticed any difference in how medicated I get. Maybe the dose is too low? Before it gets a bad rap, preg. is a "mother hormone" that helps to boost production of other hormones. People can be low for various reasons, and when they are out of whack, one really feels like whale poop.

As far as the question goes, I see "democratic" societies leaning toward legalization. So no, I don't see the use as a vaccine too likely. The real threat is being spied on everywhere, all the time.

You're not supposed to, read above. As if it matters, considering that this only got 13 votes so far, gathered here on a pro-cannabic board! Imagine what the outside world actually has to say about it...
