Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Sounds good man. I will probably just treat it like a whole new beast when I start messing with it. I tend to get a feel for vapes that way.

My cable is super heavy and probably would even move an OG if it had a detachable power jack.

+1!!

I had the weight of my cord pull the EVO off my table last night. Luckily I had been doing home improvement stuff all day so I was able to quickly catch it mid-air with the heightened hand reflexes. Felt like Spider-Man :spidey:

Doesn't that feel awesome when you're ultra medicated? Aside from the part where your vape almost breaks but I think we've all had at least one amazing vape save out here...

Don't be over-worried about breakage. OG ticker is now at around 50 falls (nerve damage in hands) and still cranking. My EVO has now fallen or been dropped 5 times, twice I was sure it was gonna break, but it's fine.

:D Oh, I'm not worried about breaking it, I just must feed off of OG Ticker vs Evo comparisons until mine arrives :p:p:o

Wow 50!
I'm guessing you have carpet? Or at least wood floors?

My first cloud fell about 2ft, the first week I got it, onto a cement floor. Shattered.
Darn cement.

Awesome to hear how durable it is, if you avoid shattering the glass.

I have wood floors. Concrete sucks. I stopped buying glass and went back to plastic when living in a place with a concrete floor for a while. Just broke too much.

I also have a huge (but now extremely ill) olde english bulldog, who I've come home to find chewing on the OG a number of times. Impressive - he has literally crushed bricks with his jaws. And a cat with a very fluffy tail who knocks everything I own over constantly - responsible for more glass breakage and near fires than my own nerve damage is.

I stopped even worrying about the OG breaking from after it survived the dog's. I was worried the EVO would be less robust but so far, so good.

Different subject - HOLY SHIT!! It's snowing for the 1st time since my EVO and EB straight-neck HT got here, and I just hit it filled with snow. DAMN is that smooth. Been a while - we haven't been getting much snow here the past few years.

Received EVO X2 today. Definitely some differences from the ticker and they need a few more days of testing to learn to use well. Very impressed with the presentation and consistency. (Having 2 I will post more about the consistency later...the only way I can tell a difference between the units is by looking at the serial numbers.)

One burning question--

What is the deal with the restriction in the bamboo being moved from the top, near the GONG to near the bottom?

Hey... learning more about using EVO... I've got the HT going with actual water in it, too (distilled, with cranberry extract), and getting the technique down.

On the one hand, I feel just a little weird about having a Fanatic HT - however, on the other hand, this thing ROCKS.

Got one of those IR thermometers, and hubby is freaking the cat out with it. *sigh*

WHERE should I "point" this thing? Just straight down the bamboo? I'm trying to get a reading on a fairly close approximate temp for different settings.

I definitely am all about vaping now that I started getting serious about BJJ. Im injured right now though, really wish I could train.
Just got my shipping notification tonight though, stoked!

Yeah, your moves just seem to link better for some reason :science:

I didn't get to do BJJ stoned tonight though :( my toe nail popped in muay thai sparring.

Evo is helping with that right now

Getting Lost
Feels good to be posting in this thread finally.Got my preorder today, an EVO (Unit 419!) with a Swagger Showerhead.
Unit is great so far, mine in particular has almost zero drag. Especially compared with my Cloud+, the bamboo also seems to be a bit easier to get ELB's in and out of. The swagger tube's top quality, the label…. not so much. Out of the box Some of it is peeling, they have also switch the standard hydra tubes to their "Super Premium Line" of labels.
Not going to try and remove them, but if some PBW fades it I won't be too upset.

thought I'd share the brush I stumbled on and really like. great for cleaning out the ELB. They are under $2 each and they work very well.

@kimura - I do EXACLTY the same with Doob Tubes - grind enough for a few days, keep strains in different containers. It works very well for me too. I do hide the tubes in a drawer so they do not get exposed to light they don't need... With regard to your discovery that the cap for the tube fits the ELB perfectly - the hydrafoot also does a great job of holding the ELB steady for filling with whatever method you like...

I like the comparison to an audiophile who is "willing to pay a premium to hear their 200-gram record collections in the most gratifying analog granularity they can afford".

Well, I AM an audiophile. I actually have three new speakers for my surround system in boxes waiting to be set up and integrated with the rest. Damn hand tremors stop me from doing wiring anymore, and seems I can't get speaker wire with the plugs already attached anywhere these days, what's up with that?

Thank [non-existent deity deleted] we don't have that issue with vaping (much - Alan of HI did the wiring necessary for my vvps for me).

So I did some concentrate w/ cotton testing last night

Started with a few crumbles of headband wax.

Small cotton over the whistler
vfxr.png

Got some good hits, but not quite as fully dense as Im used to. This is likely due to the fact that I had the cotton too tightly stuffed, could tell instantly on the draw. Still not bad clouds, this was "leftover" from a hit
bu19.png

Because of the added draw restriction due to the packed cotton, the session went pretty long. I was up to 8 decent rips before I started getting thinner hits, but still satisfying and full of medicine. I could have kept going and gotten a few more, or what I should have done is loosen up the cotton and go for big, instant.

This is the result cotton that I pulled out after 8+ hits. The cotton was pure white going in, still lots of light brown there that I would normally roast to dark brown.

I also didn't really touch the wax, so there was some bigger pieces and smaller pieces, ideally they would all be small crumbles spread out.
hziy.png

That was my only session of the night. I got busy with house errands, but I was totally medicated.

I would normally do 2 sessions on a free night. I usually mix flowers and concentrates and use up a lot of material. Obviously this is just a discipline / routine thing.

The "Evo curse" in general is it's a really fun item to use. It's a great "Adult (non-sexual) Toy" and the extraction of flowers is so big and instant, I often keep taking hits off the Hydra tube before the effects kick in.

This particular flow happened last night, I was 5 hits into the wax and wondering "I'm not getting anything, this wax maybe is garbage?" Nope, just took another 5 minutes to sink in. And then the standard "test". Talking to my un-medicated girlfriend, and noticing that I was all smiles and giggles and she was doing the thing where she makes fun of my eyes being half closed :)

Then we watched some Adventure Time and King of the Hill, and I had confirmed the medication was deep, and strong. 3 hours later and I still had effects!

Based on this first pass, I have some tweaks to try tonight to see if I can get major dense clouds and a quicker session.

My thoughts on making this work even better
  • Cotton should be loose enough not to impact draw speed
  • concentrate should be evenly distributed in small pieces.
  • Cotton should cover the material, no exposed concentrate to the ELB
  • Cotton should be placed with the majority of the material in the lower half of the ELB (away from cap)
  • Max dial temp start to finish, zero risk of combustion.
As a comparison I did cotton / concentrate in the SOLO a few days prior and got somewhat similar results in terms of color of ABV cotton, but the session was 24 minutes+ long and the hits were not as dense.

If I can get it working even smoother, this could be a dedicated concentrate beast for me. I would definitely consider buying an Evo 1.2 and having a 2nd unit dedicated to flowers.

I'm curious if you've tried the "mini-ELB" 2-cap method? I've used it with wax on the EVO a couple of times and it was excellent. The wax just eventually broke down to dark powder.[/quote]

I have used many vaporizer in the past. I always conceded that the health and other various benefits of vaporizing grossly outweighed my untenable commitment to the ritual of smoking. Over the past few years, I have been using the VRiptech Heat Wand. It provided a ritual similar to that of smoking, with the benefits of clean and pure vapor. Unfortunately, the drawbacks of inconvenience and fragility make it hard to use, for me personally, as an every-session vaporizer. I had accepted that I was going to be a lifetime smoker.

But after trying the EVO at a friends' house, I believe that this is the first vaporizer that could truly replace that dirty habit. The convenience, versatility, functionality, vapor quality, you name it.. I had never been more blown away at a first impression session with a vaporizer. My friends would describe me as a flavor snob, but I have no doubt that they would understand the pleasure of enjoying their medication in the most transparent way after using the EVO. This is one of the first units I can say matches the flavor purity of my VHW.

My only regret is that I did not order one earlier. Thank you for continuing to improve the technology by which we enjoy our medication. For people like me who cherish their glass collection and possess a great deal of sentimentality towards their pieces, this is a dream vaporizer.

I will be placing my order as soon as possible. Will have to spend more time with my friend until then, I guess.

Visiting friends with "My Precious" EVO, I knocked My Precious off the table and shattered the bamboo a few days ago (Gollum, gollum). Woe is me! Contacting Support, they calmed me down, god knows how they could even hear my wailing and knashing of teeth through the email. My Precious is wending its way back to the "Furnace from Whence it Came" to be re-forged, or at least repaired.

Still, there is a part of me crying, wailing for My Precious and the Lost Bamboo.

Are you sure that wasn't bubble hash? Wax(BHO) definitely shouldn't turn into a powder.

No, I'm not. It was brought over by a friend. He was given a brick of the stuff by a grower pal. He called it wax, but then again I didn't ask for a tutorial. When I say powder I mean it was broken down into very fine particles.

Clearly I'm over my head on this one. :myday:
