Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

GSH

On a Möbius plane
That looks pretty ideal. I wonder how the scooping action on that would compare with the Skillet Tools Scoop Dogg.

I'm also playing around with the idea of a tall small jar / vial where I could maybe just speed-tap some ground herbs straight in an ELB and go. I'm almost ready for next weekend! (My delivery is scheduled for Thursday.)

The cleaning brushes look useful, though, I hate to rub cheap plastic against screens I'm heating and vaporizing off frequently. (probably a non-issue.) I might prefer to keep a few ELB's in rotation and do a regular iso soak of a bunch. I'll have to see how quickly they gunk up.
I use a Lotus scoop for loading the herbs into ELBs and the Pinnacle Pro brush (as above) for cleaning.

Scoop holds about 0.05g so is perfect for dosing...

Are there any small tools that are ideal for loading and clearing ELB's? Like a little scooper/pick or something.
The tool that I use to load the ELB is a funnel. I have one that fits perfectly into the ELB so I am able to dump it straight into the ELB from my grinder. I can be messy and this helps me keep things relatively clean. For cleaning the ELB I use a brush that is similar to the ones already listed. But I still find I need to clean them with ISO very regularly.

At some point someone posted some links to funnels that are used to repack bullet shells. They looked like they fit the ELBs perfectly. I have the link saved somewhere.

Would love to grab one. I only found flask funnels on amazon, and they are too small in diameter to allow herbs to flow through, only liquid. Currently using a piece of paper folded and taped to work as a funnel.

I will try to dig up the links when I get home. If not, its just a matter of determining which shell casing size matches up to the ELBs.

A lot of tools will work, but thought I'd share.

For trade shows we prefer the Skillet-tools "honey-bun" model!

On that same note, wanted to remind everyone VapeXhale will be competing for Best Booth, Best Glass, and Best Product at the San Bernardino High Times Medical Cannabis Cup on February 7-9!

Come to our booth get medicated, and show your support at the voting booth!

Continued with some vigorous testing over the weekend. :D

Other than the somewhat strange temp dial behavior (stays green between 3 and max no matter where I move it) the unit seems to be functioning quite well. It seems like it's taking me fewer hits to extract everything from the ELB than the original ticker model, but the ABV is always a nice, even chocolate brown so I don't think any of the goodies are being missed. :)

Waiting for a buddy to be available so we can pool our glass collections and get a nice variety of EVO + different piece shots. Look forward to seeing: Mobius 60t Stereo Matrix Stemless, Matrix Bubbler, Ion Reti, Vertigo Hydratube, and a few more. :D :D

As you noticed, the light is much more responsive from 7 to 3 positions on the dial. The 3-5 position is known as "turbo-mode" internally for concentrates and once you are above 3, you will be able to effectively vape concentrates with either the 2 cap method or our upcoming concentrates attachment. Our original EVOs had a much more sensitive light pattern in that if someone was 3 degree below/above the specified temps, the light would turn red and the user would be confused as to whether they should inhale or not. This made it very confusing for the end user since just a few degree difference doesn't drastically change the vapor output so we wanted the light feedback to be more intuitive. Once you are in "turbo mode" the unit is kicking out as much heat is our algorithm is telling it to and while 5 is hotter than 3, it is only marginally hotter which is why you are seeing more of a solid green in that temp range.

Awesome explanation, good to know! Super happy with the unit so far. Hang in there everyone still waiting, it's worth it! :D

Airflow, whistles warm up method/time and vapor production seem to be the topics we're all interested in as the EVO spreads its wings and graces more of us with its presence. That being the case, the timing for my wondering seems pretty right on.

I would love to get some experienced opinions on air flow for the newer units. Wall of text coming, please forgive me...

I was able to pick up that EB that was in the classifieds around Thanksgiving. I was lucky enough to receive the unit prior to Thanksgiving - serial number would allude to the fact that this is unit #85. I had also pre-ordered a unit in August. When I got the EB unit, I cancelled my pre-order, but I saw last week that the cancel did not go through. When I got my email that the pre-order was ready to ship, I made a quick phone call and a buddy was happy to jump on the opportunity. Excellent little wrinkle!!

The pre-order unit arrived Saturday, the serial number alludes to this being unit #447. I called said buddy and he was psyched and would be by Sunday to pick the new toy up. Since the sale would be coming through me essentially, I opted to QC his heater (I begrudgingly left his glass unmolested).

Warm up time seemed the same. I set both units to my normal start up temp of 3PM and watched. Almost to the second, the two units went green together. I then dropped to 1PM for my normally preferred setting and watched again. Again, almost down to simultaneous, they went green together.

Next I took two equally lightly loaded ELBs (same strain, same grind, both slightly >1/4 full). I went to my unit first and pulled a full, thick hit exiting with a huge cloud around the light in the room. I moved to the new unit and repeated. There was much less vapor to see in the tube, MUCH less resistance to the pull, much louder whistle at the same draw speed. BUT - the exhale was a huge, thick cloud.

So I switched back to the original, pulled that ELB three more times to some popcorn flavor and repeated the process with the new unit - but it was 5 more pulls to the popcorn flavor. Interestingly, the ABV was darker in my early unit vs what I could take the more recent pre-order unit to... I did not, however run up to the 3PM point to see if I could get that dark chocolate brown ABV in the newer unit.

Both units had great flavor. Both units affected me wonderfully.

Looking down into the depths, I am relatively certain that the bottom hole of the newer unit is slightly larger (to my eye anyway).

I had a touch of a battle internally as to which unit I should sell. I opted to keep the one I have growm fond of with the more restricted airflow - with my thinking that I would likely need to use a little more temperature to compensate for the faster airflow, and I like the reservation of the top end for when my state allows us to operate in compliance of the law and concentrates become a possibility here... I also would have felt a little guilty selling ht emore used unit at full proce because I liked the newer one better - that just feels selfish, and when there is recourse avaiable to make adjustments, that just felt to be a dick move.

So my hope is that I can better understand if the more resticted unit is more or less efficient - I am sure there are are some subjective bits in there, but I really feel like the bamboo in the newer unit is physically different. If the more open path is more desired, I can pen a ticket and ask to have my bamboo updated, I'd imagine. The restriction does have the potential to make me drool a little if I am not paying any attention at all... But I honestly had a hard time defining a preference between the two - both were amazing, just... - ...diffferent from each other, if that makes sense.

TL;DR: Which do YOU prefer? More or less restriction in the bamboo?

And as an aside - EVERY person that I have exposed to the EVO has plans to buy one or has made an order. To my mind, that is an additioanl glowing review to add to the list...

Great post! I have one of the early EVO's, #45, and I find the draw very restrictive and very different from my ticker. I was torn as to whether I should open a ticket but I'm thinking I probably should. I get good extraction but I need to shake or stir or I get uneven bits. My ticker never required any stirring and it was always evenly roasted. I want to really love the EVO but honestly it just doesn't feel as good as my ticker does. My bamboo has zero whistle.

Both of those were hit at 3 O'clock.

I thought probably so. It appears that, at least so far, by-and-large the batches with new firmware are running with a fairly consistent heat range/dial position. I'm getting a solid dark brown ABV. I've put that ABV in my OG which runs very hot, set it at a blistering 3 (usual vaping is @10:30-12) and I get one additional light cloud plus one very whispy one, with the taste distinctly cooked and the ABV a very dark powder. This seems to confirm that the EVO is extracting all the actives; anything more and I'm just decomposing what's left of the plant matter.

With the top end for flowers being at ~3, I did wonder about performance with concentrates. SM informed me that with the concentrate attachment under development, there is less heat required to vaporize, so the current heat control setup should work fine.

I'd ask SM about this. Sometimes he can coach you through a performance issue. On the other hand, IIRC there were a small number of random units with the bamboo out-of-spec, so maybe that needs to be checked (the zero whistle is suggestive). It's true that the EVO is more restrictive than the OG, but IME not too much so; I forgot about it pretty quickly.

i'm really loving my new evo. like other users have stated, it is a little weird having no noise coming from the unit. saturday, a friend and i did back to back hits with my evo and my ticker. a good time was had by all. my unit whistles quite a bit with my 60t, but it doesn't bother me at all. the weight on the unit was so surprising. i know people said it was light, but wow, this is amazing. aesthetically, the evo is very pleasing, more so than the ticker. it really looks like an upgraded cloud. the evo does get a lot hotter near the top than my ticker does. oh well, it really isn't that big of a deal. i agree with the users that are also commenting on the extraction of the unit. i am getting very even and toasted abv. the cloud got me perfectly medicated, but for some reason, the evo gets me that and more. i love it.

i reaaaaally like being able to unplug the unit. the only negative i see in this is my girlfriend now asking me to bring her the evo when she wants a hit, haha.

i did have one question: if pushed in all the way, the power cord becomes a little hard to pull out from the unit, requiring me to use some force. i always get a little nervous applying a hard pull because i like to treat my vaporizers as gently as possible. am i worrying for nothing here?

I'm having the same problem with my power cord on the EVO. Whenever I plug it into the unit and try to remove it later, it is VERY hard to remove. Last night it took me about 10 minutes to get it unplugged...and I exerted a LOT of force to try and remove it. :goon:

Why is it so hard to remove? I've not heard a lot of people complaining about this, so I assume not all units are affected. Would replacing the cord with one of the cords people have mentioned on hear that you can get on Amazon or even Wally World?

Is it the connection itself or just the cord itself that is the problem?

So far...this is the only problem I have with my unit...other than that, this thing is a beast and I am loving it more each day.

My unit had the same issue. Once I tried to remove it the first time I decided I would never try to remove it again. It just feels like too much force has to be applied.

maybe try a different power cord? one with rounded off edges at the female plug end?

A dozen different choices, many with precise spoon measures, for all of $10. Officially 'wax carving tools'. I bought one of these sets years ago am still using them. And they do work well for carving candles.

My power cord connection is just as tight

Was the power cord on your EVO not such a tight fit?

Mine is extremely tight but I've attached/detached it about twenty times now trying to get the fit looser.
It does seem slightly less loose, but it still feels like I could hurt the machine with how much force is required.

Well I was planning on selling either my Cloud or my EVO, but I couldn't decide. They're both so perfect. The more I use my EVO the more I like it. I'm producing the same level of clouds and it is a bit smoother (even hitting with the same HT and same bullet) than my Cloud. I had tried to do some quantitative tests, but as someone else mentioned it's pretty hard when I'm KO'd after two test bullets.

Performance wise it's hard to pick, I agree.

But my EVO has a long warranty and my OG Ticker has zero warranty... so I think of those two I'd definitely sell my Cloud.

Well, it's clear to me that the EVO is a hit! I am not really all that surprised (call me a fanboy) :worms:

We have had it now for several weeks, and have put the unit thru various <grueling> tests including some interesting comparative tests between Clicker number 0939 and the new Fanatic EVO (Serial number undisclosed to protect our high level security clearance) :science:

Here are my findings:

Initially my first impression of EVO outside of the box was that it seems SO much lighter that the OG. (cool box too) Not true! There is a difference in the weight of the two models. The EVO is lighter, but it's not that big of a diff if you plop them onto a scale. :puke:

The heating (and thereby extracting capabilities of the EVO) are superior to the OG, including heat up time. (under 5 minutes) but the unit does get noticeably hotter to the touch than the OG with or without wrist bands applied. It would be a good suggestion to grab the EVO on the bottom near t's legs (Wrestling takedown style!

The Enclosure on the Fanatic unit seems nice. Easier to hold onto, better grip, etc. I don't know what the civilian units will be like (havent read thru whole thread) Kinda wish mine was red! :smug:

de-lurking here after years of subterranean research. I actually had an active username here on FC a few years ago but I forgot it and the email I used to sign up is no longer active. 3 Years ago I stumbled upon the FC forum and what I found here actually changed my life. I have been quietly keeping up with developments over the past few years while maintaining radio silence. I contributed to the IGG campaign as an EB (straight neck, w/ ice pinches), and my experience with both the VXL product and company have been so impressive that I have been inspired to de-lurk and create a new username and post a review of this beast.

I received my Cloud EVO along with my beautiful custom Swagger HT a few days before Christmas. I was pretty thrilled with its performance, as it produced massive clouds at noon and was brutally effective for about a day. Sadly, my unit was one of the early miscalibrated EVOs to suffer a cracked glass core (bamboo). I actually saw it happen, which was quite sad. So I opened a support ticked and received a reply in less than an hour. Sent the unit back for repairs, and got it back just about two weeks later. No charge. VXL explained to me that my unit's firmware was miscalibrated in such a way that caused the core to get too hot too fast and fail. Before I get into the details of how the repaired and recalibrated unit works, I just want to emphasize how impressed I am by the support I received. I sent my broken unit in and it was repaired for free under warranty, in 2 weeks time with zero hassle. so my experience with VapeXhale costumer service and product support has been excellent.

First thing I notice when firing up the rebuilt unit is that it is much cooler at noon than it was under the original calibration. Noon produces somewhat whispy but delicious vapor. I usually load between .05g and .1g and this will last for roughly 4-6 hits at this setting, producing a nice blue vapor with wonderful low-mid temp effects. With the new firmware, my EVO doesn't really show it's power until the 2:00-3:00 range. At 3:00 I am getting the most incredible performance out of this vaporizer. An entire .05g-.1g load can be fully extracted in 1 hit. 2 at the most. Some of these hits are the most potent I have ever experienced, producing a dab-like wave of instant effects (even causing the occasional "sweats!"). Effects last for hours. And here's the part that blows me away: it actually tastes good and doesn't hurt my throat. At that temperature and with that volume of vapor I would expect more irritation, but it's actually smooth and still delicious. Additionally, I have taken ABV from each of my other vapes after it had been roasted to the point that it produced no vapor and dropped it into an ELB, loaded it into the EVO at 3:00, and blown a massive cloud every time.

In my opinion, this thing is basically the vaporizer equivalent of a high-end sports car. It doesn't try to do everything, and it appeals to the desires of a few specific markets. I am talking about buyers who are looking for a product that does a few specific things, REALLY well. I can get very pure flavor at noon, or I can get incredible extraction at 3:00. At noon the ABV is really still a very dark green, but it is fully dried and has very little smell. At 3:00 the ABV is a very even milk chocolate, with virtually no smell and it has a tendency to turn to dust if you agitate it.

in honor of MiLK JR. day, I humbly submit this, because there just can't be enough cloud+mobius vids:
