Or just clean the pax. Why put that on your herb?
You just don't understand, man. Really. I cleaned my Pax religiously and it never worked as well as with the PG. The stuff has been shown to be completely safe. It's the same stuff they use in electronic cigarettes to create that satisfying plume of smoke. You can't even taste it with the unflavored version. Even just doing it once in a while will totally clean the piece. Nothing is sticky anymore. It's just way nicer. Plus it takes an extra 3 seconds to clean instead of 5-10 minutes like I was doing every 2-3 days. My Pax always works perfectly now.

And it's not like I'm advocating that you inhale some weird cleaning chemicals. The stuff is FOR vaporizing- just traditionally in the electronic cigs. I bought the non-nicotine, non-flavored version and I haven't even used 1/4 of the $6 bottle. It's not like you need to consume much of the product at all. And if you do some research on propylene glycol, the stuff is considered completely safe.

Im looking to reduce load size. Going to pick up some glass screens to add as filler. Bought this strictly on impulse. Wish i wouldn't have. Its a great vape for doing what it suppose to, but that bowl is waaay too big for what i need. I need quick nausea and pain relief, not to get so high i cant do my homework.
Sorry for the misunderstanding but I use recreationally and for me the pax is great. I did read other posts where they use an extra screen on top of the herb in the oven.

In regard to reducing load size, I use small stainless steel pipe screens folded slightly where it pushes the herb down when the lid is closed. As long as things are packed tight it hits very similar to when its fully loaded. Though I may have to turn the temp up more quickly during the session. Using this method saves and is my solo preference.

I second this. I stopped using my pax because it ate up so much herb. One weekend I grabbed some screens and it actually changed my mind about selling it. Works great with a quarter of an oven full, about .08.

i have used a slightly different angle. There is a dispensary where i live that is not fancy but has good herb for 2/3 the price. So now i get those 5 or 6 flavor clouds with a full oven and maybe stir and smoke the rest of it or not.

Has a "best" way to vapebong with the PAX been established as of yet?

I'm trying to get away from combustion, but vapes just don't offer the same high a bong does unless you run one through the other.

I've been in the market for something I can pocket and take with me, as well as sit at home and get BAKED off it, and so far it's looking like I need two separate units for this as none of the TRULY portable high end vapes (DV Ascent, PAX) seem to come without their flaws (Ascent has had offgassing problems and faulty units galore, PAX doesn't seem to have a good way to vapebong)... Anyone wanna help me out here? MY LUNGS ARE BEGGING YOU

So Ive bought a solo and a og dvi. They both were great, till both broke. i was skeptical on buying the pax but i scored one at the headshop for 221 and my first session was just priceless. just creeping on me right now. Also this did not get hot at all like some people complain about i thought the temps were pretty much perfect for whatever your needs are.

Too much herb? What? 3x a day here and I never use more than 1/8 a week.

A couple of things:

- Has anyone else noticed that Ploom finally put out a "case" for the Pax? It's $20, and looks like a grey felt material with a little leather tab at the top embossed with "Pax". I have a few of the smell-lock Ryot cases that I like a lot, but they're impractical for taking with me to a show or a dinner engagement, etc, so I ordered up one of these. I'll report back when I get it in hand. Here's a pic:

paxcarrycase_v1-sm.png

- Alright....fess up....how many of you are also KILLING your battery in the following fashion: Fire up an oven-full, then playing Simon for 30 minutes or more!?!? :) Ever since I found out about Simon, it's become a ritual. I can't seem to do one without the other anymore!!

Must..........play..................Simon.......

:)

Just got a large Ryot SmellSafe Hardcase for my Pax and really like the improvements they've made with these cases. I had been using an old, smaller version of this case but wanted something bigger so I could store some things in there too (the small version pretty much only fits the Pax by itself). Not sure how "smellsafe" it really is but the material covering the zipper seems like it's better than nothing.

Updates to the Ryot Hardcase:
- flat padding inside
- upgraded zipper pull, you actually pull it with one finger instead of two (unlike on your pants)
- material covering the zipper to keep smell down
- two straps inside on each side

When is there going to be a new pax? I was a fan of the pax for a while but the cleaning of the pax was just frustrating. Then on top that i began to devolp issues with the mouthpiece. Ploom should release a 2.0 or just a whole new model. When that happens my life will be complete :brow:

I just wanted to chime in...I have the small Ryot case with all those features and love it. You're right it fits the Pax and nothing else, but that's cool for me. The smell is locked in from the average person's nose even if held up close.

I didn't expect the Pax to take over around the house, but I reach for it over my Solo more than expected. It's a nice machine and I've found using a 3/4" screens makes using smaller loads a lot easier. Still, I get best results when packed then tamped down a bit. Either way, I personally do not use much more than with my Solo, which is very efficient.

Greetings pax users, Ive always had my eye on this beautiful piece of tech, and a chance has arisen for me to acquire it. However, it has come to my attention that certain sections of the vapor community now consider the pinnacle pro to be superior to the pax, obviously this is a matter of opinion, but i have heard this too by so called unbiased reviewers. Do any of you have experiences with both and have specific reasons for preferring the pax? Although I can't recall the features in question, I assume pinnacle pro was given the win in flavour, efficiency, hygiene, draw resistance, price.....and maybe equal in stealth. I have used neither and so would like a pax lovers opinion.
Thank you

This is my case exactly...had two for about a year, once I found the screen trick a couple months back it was a game changer for me. Tried most good portables...always came back to my Pax

I agree I think at $150 I would not hesitate to try it. I am interested to see how this device turns out. I contacted them to see if I could get some more information. I think I agree with max. We are right on the cusp of an explosion in the market. With all the devices coming out it makes since for the customer to be picky. We now have so many product choices that we can do our research and pick the one that suits our needs the best. I think it will get better from here as the technology and social acceptance continue to grow.

I do like the way this device looks. I have some issues with the bottom cap. I need to see how it is secured. As it stands now I worry about how secure it is. From what I can tell, It looks like it is held on by some magnets on the sides of the cap in the center. You push one end down, and then you can grab the other end and pull it off the magnets. I wonder how secure it is, and how hard it is to take off. I want to see if it can be knocked loose in your pocket. I could imagine my keys pivoting the cap like in the video. I don't want plant material to spill all over my pocket.

I've had my pax for 3 months, I LOVE it, the problem is in the MOUTH PIECE, it gets stuck, sometimes out this time in, , I'm hoping some one can help me with this problem

you can either add the voltage or add the current, but not both. 3.7v is too low a voltage to power a vaporizer (for herb), so the solo puts the two cells in series = 7.4v @ 2200 mAh. 6.6v @ 3300 mAh only lasts about 70 minutes, ime.

Me too
Please post a critique of the case once you get it. I have no need for one, but I want one.
