Don't forget the blood of a virgin unicorn. Glitter and sparkles only make up 2/3 of magic smoke. Duh.

You know I've heard that the unicorn blood was really a homeopathic deal. They've been secretly diluting down a single drop more and more and more. I mean you don't exactly see unicorn farms dotting the countryside do you? Nobody seems to know where the original drop came from......I'm thinking that "over 30% unicorn blood" is marketing BS. At best it's unicorn blood extract. Right?

I think I smell a rat, but the smell of the magic smoke makes it hard to tell.

Auxilio!
I'm traveling out of state and having issues with my OPHOS. I brought 2 carts (1x2.5 and 1x1.5) that I had already been using and were functioning fine (.7grams and .6grams loaded). The morning I left I loaded about .8g wax into a brand new 2.4. The brand new cart is giving me nothing but whispy hits but the other two were working fine. This morning I woke up and reached for my OPHOS only to get whispy hits from all 3 carts. It charged over night so the battery should be full. All week I've been trying to get the new cart to work (heating the top of the cart to settle any air pockets) with no luck. Now my other two carts are not doing well and I'm getting desperate. Any advice from the Forum? I've also cleaned the connection between the OPHOS and the carts. Help me FC, you're my only hope!

Bummer, Tim, but good to meet you anyway, welcome to the Forum. Persei is a great vape, really, sorry yours is not cooperating. We should work on it some and get those Omicron carts going, but first we need to get your top fixed.

Unfortunately you're far from alone, lots of tops have cashed in lately due to shorts. Mostly with Hercules/SR71 use but I guess a short is a short. There's an upgraded top that seems to be more robust, first order of business is getting one of those. "Open a ticket" ASAP with W9, do you know how to do that?

Then let's see if we can get a jump on this. What value carts are you using? How confident are you that your concentrate is 'right' for Omicrons?

We can make this work.

Great! Useful tool. I find myself weighing lots of stuff with mine. Like my Iolites (to know exactly how much of the 3.1 gram maximum fill is left).

Good to meet you too man, I glad I'm going to get my persei up and running. How do I make a ticket? I have used low grade-high grade wax, crumbley wax, moist/thinish consistency wax and it all cloggs on me. What would consistency would you recommend?

The few times I have gotten my persei to work it hit super hard and I was very impressed by it. The carts I'm using are 5ohm. The kiss carts (I actually ordered 2 of them) are 5ohm as well.

im thinking about giving in to the hammer top thats on clearance. for anyone that has it, is it a good step up from the regular persei and easier to use with the switch mode?

I use on for the BENDER and it is a necessary top for high powered functions.

First step, go to the W9 page:
http://www.w9tech.com/

Upper right, just under search, is the 'open a ticket box'. Click it and have at it.

I also suggest you get several 2.4 Ohm carts, they are definitely a better way to start than fives (which run at double power and 'get away from you' amazingly easy. The KISS carts are the same story I think I've never tried the 5s personally, but lots of guys seem to have trouble with them too? Again, lower power can be your friend when learning. Many of us find we can do all we need to with them, I came back long ago and haven't strayed. A single battery has serious advantages for new guys as well.

As to what works best, room temperature consistency is a poor guide. You want to do a "foil test" on it. Put a small dab (pinhead size) on some foil and heat it with your lighter from below. You're looking for concentrate that melts quickly and completely, flows freely over the foil and quickly flashes off leaving no or very litte debris behind. A thin coat of 'soot' (it's not really) is OK but anything more substantial (or more importantly trouble melting and flowing) will keep it from working in Omicrons (either fouling it out or failing to feed). KISS is less demanding in this respect, we'll be able to use what doesn't pass the foil test there.

Start the ticket process and get some carts, then do some foil tests and decide the winner, and we can discuss loading so it'll feed without leaking.

Please guys, any advice on why my carts aren't working all of a sudden. I'm stuck in a hotel with 3 carts producing whispy hits. I posted more details on the previous page. I cleaned the contacts with ISO and I tried lightly heating the top half of the cart to settle the material down. Any other tips or tricks?

Bummer. With 3 that went bad all at once it's not a cart problem.....you're wasting your time (and risking carts) with the fire. You have a power problem it seems, the common factor.

What are you running it on? How good are the batteries? What resistance/voltage?

OF, I was kind of hoping you'd respond since you seem to be one of the resident gurus. I was thinking the same thing since more than one cart started acting up at once. I'm using a brand new (3 weeks) OPHOS (maybe I should've put this in a different thread but I figured everyone here was familiar with Persei/Omicron/OPHOS issues in general). It's also possible that the carts are running low but once again it suspicious they all started acting up at once. Unfortunately I'm in a hotel room far from home and I don't have my usual things (scale, meter, tools) available. I may be SOL but I thought I'd consult with the experts. My last resort is to see if I can melt anything out of the carts and try and figure out another way to use it.
As far as numbers I suppose the OPHOS is 3.7v and I've got two 2.4 carts and one 1.5

Hey guys, sorry in advance because I'm sure that this has been answered already, but I've been away from the forums for a while now and am like 200 pages behind. Frankly, I don't have the time to read all of that. I was wondering if an upgrade option was being offered/will be offered for owners of the SR-71 to upgrade to the SR-74?

EDIT: Also, has the issue of oils leaking into the bottom chamber been at all remedied? I know that if you overheat the herc (aka get too medicated and forget to feather the button sometimes :ko:) it is very easy for oils to leak through.

EDIT EDIT: I just looked at the site and see the Hercules SR-74 Essential Upgrades kit for $30, so disregard the part before the edits hah. Would I be able to pre-order the upgrades kit and send my ceramic rod in before the release of the kit, so that you receive the ceramic rod before the kit releases, in order to get the kit shipped to me on release day?

Have you tired melting the wax inside the cart again? Sometimes when you use stable solid waxes, they are stubborn when melting down towards the heater. Try gently heating the top 1/3 of your carts and leave them standing vertically. If you're in doubt, use a flashlight to look inside the cart to see if there's anything left.

Well that's a bummer. A 3 week old Ophos should be fine, it's not like it's a dual battery Persei or Omicron V2 where we could have a battery issue we can deal with. I agree, 3 in a row means Murphy is working double overtime if it's carts.

And I don't think you can kill a pair of 2.4s being sloppy when not paying attention (can happen when you get frustrated). I assume the carts are getting warm to the touch in use as they normally do?

The best I can think of is the all ran dry more or less together? If so, carefully melting out what you can get from two into the third might be all the options you have? I'd make that a 2.4 cart, this is not a good time to blow the only 1.5 in the joint with all the oil left in civilization in it.......

Whats the difference between the white rod sr-74 (7.4v) and the black rod (3.7v) as far as hits? Does one tend to have more/less problems than the other? Also, seems like the sr at 7.4v drains batteries quickly. Does the black rod do this too? Could I use an ss kit and the black rod sr-74?

Been awhile since I visited the forums. Can anyone give me a run down of the sr-71 for flower only. Does it work well? If not is the 74 supposed to be any better in that regard? I like the bender but it's just not travel friendly.

For me and a lot of others the white rod is the way to go! The black rod takes some practice to get use to. I wouldn't recommend the 3.7v rod just because most become frustrated with it and give up.

I'm only going to put full melts in it. I read somewhere that the black rod only warms the cart, as opposed to the white rod, which will fully vape your oil. Is there a video or tutorial I should watch/read before using the sr-74? On cleaning or assembly?

Better than bubble, but be advised most "full melts" are full of stuff that doesn't vape away and will therefore fairly quickly foul the cart.

You basically need solvents to strip the good stuff out from the junk before putting it in. Oils, waxes, shatters, budders and so on. Mechanically refined concentrates generally don't work well.

You want 'supermelt or better', as such things are traditionally rated (although some guys trying to sell press the definition some.....go figure). This is why the foil test is so important. It lets you know before hand what you're putting in and what it will do for you.
