Huh, it is a pretty dark indica. Will try hotter, and other strains (got some blends).

I am slightly medicated after a nug or stem with grind, but not anything like I expected.

MORE HEAT! Thx!

The preheat is essential; I would guess your missing this step or not doing it enough. Boost it to ten for a few minutes. You want to be able to feel heat throughout the Nano. Warm wood is good wood. Turn it down to 7, wait 30 seconds, and then put the Nano on the roasting tube or GONG. Hit immediately to get good vapor flowing, or wait another 30s to preheat the load. Prepare for a dense hit if you choose the latter. Enjoy!

The Nano has become my bedside companion.

That basket screen, which Andy so generously sent, works GREAT as a part of the concentrate sandwich! How I've got mine, in the pinch stem, is the basket, pinch of herb, concentrate/oil, pinch of herb, reg screen. I used the butt of a chopstick to gently nudge it down to the pinch.

I'm getting good vapor/effects at 7. :)
And, as it is always on, I can manage to hit it in the dark.

Yes.... More heat. Mine is one of the first production units and think it might run a bit hotter than the newer ones. My duff is the color of spent coffee grinds (very dark brown) at 7.25 - 7.5 through glass.

Just tap the heat up a little every few draws until you find your sweet spot. Not too much. Just a nudge on the dial should knock the temp noticeably up. You'll know when you are there. Even with just the dry stem you should get to the point of seeing thick milky vapor.

Technique..... slow your draw speed down a bit. This will increase level of vapor, too. You also don't want to load too much into the stem. 1/4 - 1/3 of filling up the weed chamber should be plenty.

Think I may have seen a response already - but just in case.... you want 3/8" screens.

I generally throw whole nug in. Get some nice tasty hits, then stir/break up while still in the glass tube. Those first couple hits after stirring should rock your world!! You'll get used to it, but the toughest part is learning how big of a nug to throw in that will put you at about 1/3 full of the stem after a good break up & stir.

So... maybe a little bit of a learning curve but you ought to have it pretty much figured out by your 4th or 5th load.

This is my favorite way to vape too, i use the same technique with all my vapes now. :D Those first hits are a killer in taste!

i was vaping last night and high temp will do 1 hitters. perfect 1 hit will turn it brown. is that too high ? because I feel like passing it around with medium hits each hit is equal to that high temp 1 hits.

Funny because I was fine with the cheap glass I had.
The quality from GLASS BLOWERS DIRECT is outstanding.
The thickness of the glass!

Diffusion of a FRIT!

NANO and this glass!

It is on my wishlist, an EVO and the Stemless honeycomb from GBD. I would love to have one frit like yours though ataxian. ;)

BLAZING OG

Vaping is a way of life!
Not getting anything close to the clouds I've seen on video with either nug or grind. (killer meds)

Been at 6.5 and 7.5 like the directions say, but only getting wisps of lite vapor. :(
Something sounds wrong, have you preheated the unit at least 3-5 minutes for optimal performance?
You can start a t 10 then after a few minutes tun it down to desired temp, 7+ for larger clouds!!
If you put whole nug it intensifies the flavor a bit , but the clouds will be a bit thinner but still visible.
If you grind or grind after you have hit the dry nug once , then you can achieve way larger clouds.
I have found that in my dry stem I can only load a tiny amount before it s to full and will scorch slightly from 7-7.5, on the other hand I got my screened gong and the screen sit further down creating a larger deeper space than the dry stem. This allows me to load a bit more (approx.0.1-0.13) and I can bump it up to 8 now and get really large clouds grinded.

The wood at 7 should feel warm, @ 7.5 + it can start feeling pretty hot ,not burning hot but hot.!!!!

I hope you get it dialed in, let us know how it works out for you.
Andy has some of the best customer service, maybe shoot him an email asking if this sounds normal.
Worst case you might have a defective unit, but seeing how well built these are ,I cant see many failure rates but it is possible.

Mines gives beautiful dark duff when I'm done. If your not seeing proper extraction adjust your technique.
Yes! - got much darker ABV, and "finished" taste with below adjustments!

You are correct, was in a hurry this AM and figured ... "I can just leave it on at 6.5 for a few mins" ... it just never warmed up. Thanks. WWIGW!

I had a similar issue with an EV2 that ended up being a bad unit. Contact Andy through his website if issues persist.
Nope, loose user nut! :)

.... works GREAT as a part of the concentrate sandwich! How I've got mine, in the pinch stem, is the basket, pinch of herb, concentrate/oil, pinch of herb, reg screen. I used the butt of a chopstick to gently nudge it down to the pinch.

Would love to see a short video of this. I'm super interested in "concentrate sammiches". I got some wax (that looks like bubble) that I'm told will melt. We don't get the gooey budder concentrates in my part of greater western WA, tons of shatter/kief/bubble or straight liquidy oil (Dama).

Think I may have seen a response already - but just in case.... you want 3/8" screens.
Thanks!

I started 100% vaping over a year and a half ago due to having 3 teeth out/dental implants, etc... Best thing that ever happened to me. When it was over, and I had my new killer grill of implants (football injury from HS finally getting fixed), I admitted to my dentist that I'd vaped almost the entire time. He said minus the bad part about not sucking after surgery, ... vapor wouldn't have hurt me. :)

Additional thanks - TheNOTORIOUS_THC, Flotntoke, and Blazing OG! (thanks for introducing me to this vape and forum! Just saw your post after writing this one - I'm fixed!)

Two stems - Dutch Treat (lighter) ... then that same Indi I had issues with this AM and POW! (heading to the couch! :smug:

Great vid by Enchantre! I am very much looking forward to trying this in my Nano. This little bad boy just continues to impress. Would it be easier to open the temp control dial or the vaporizer unit to "flip" the cord? Between the temp dial and my nano unit there is one twist that prevents the cable from sitting flat. Small detail overlooked, but could save alot of potential frustration as my dial always ends up sitting face down. Already noticed a bit of paint wearing off the dial and well as occassional accidental temperature bumps because of this. This, and maybe the little blue light...i'd prefer to probably not have it at all, or maybe not stick out and be pointy? Very minor, and i'm pretty sure at this point those are my only negatives if you can even call it that! Positives review still in the works.

WOW! I just tried out your two screen with cotton video and am really impressed. I put about a dabs with in the middle and pushed that down with a Pilot Precise tip pen (works as a perfect tamping device for a nano stem. Set it to high and launched off. I wanted some more and put another dab right on the top screen. It melted right into the screen and cotton, and I got like 5 more really tasty rips and about other 5 more okay ones. All from two dabs?

Thank you all *curtsies*

As I'm using my concentrate sandwiches for pain relief mostly, the flavor degradation doesn't bother me much, so I'm getting probably 8-10 decent hits off a "healthy dab" of concentrate.
Just had a serious discussion between me, the scale, and hubby and his calculator. He says it's 0.14 grams, and the scale said 0.005 oz, but when I tried the grams on the scale, it wouldn't even register as 0.1, so I'm guessing it's not a lot of concentrate.

I'm going to try "reloading" by the melt method. Great idea, @Doug
